Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton play their parts wonderfully! What I love most about this Shakespearian tale is that Katharina is a strong woman who doesn't "bow down to" Petruchio's domineering way. She just finds another way to control him while making him believe she is doing what he wants. The acting is superb!

Best Taming of the Shrew ever filmed. Worth Dick and Liz meeting. Her speech is great, Cuzaks side kick is perfect and Dick can play a drunk cad like nobody else! Want to intro someone to Shakespeare this is the movie.

Wonderful adaptation. Taylor and Burton are at their best in this one. A gem from start to finish.

This is a good movie, and an easy way to "read" Shakespeare. It was nice to find it on DVD.

It is a great adaptation of William Shakespear's Romeo&Juliet. I enjoyed both Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor as the main roles. It is a very good comedy. It is good story of two very different people who fall in love.The actors did a very good job at telling the story. I like the all the little story line intertwine with the main story.

This is an interesting adaptation because it is mostly through Katherina's point of view instead of Petruchio's. This slightly dulls the dispicable level of chauvinism present in the play, but it is still certainly there. If you like Taming of the Shrew, you might like this production. I just hate the play.
