First of all, this is one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of all time and definitely holds up for special effects from the 50s. If you’re reading this, most likely you’re familiar with this rendition of the Bible stories. I’d like to state that if you’re a huge fan of the movie, there is a larger, much more expensive version complete with goodies. However, if you’d like a streamlined version to fit neatly on the shelf that still contains a comprehensive package of features, you can’t beat this package especially for the price. It is essentially a sturdy Digibook with a decent amount of high quality pages that celebrate both the 1923 and 1956 version. Across 3 discs comes both versions of the movie and a handful of informative features (including a 73 minute documentary), 2 commentaries and photo galleries. Sound and video are impeccable and will provide the best version of the films so far.

Pairing this Technicolor marvel with DeMille's 1923 black and white silent film of The Ten Commandments, uniquely grandiose for its time, yet disappointing, in that it switches from the biblical take to a modern time portrayal of religious doubt and devotional fervor, is still a look at where movie-making has come from its beginnings to the era of color epics in the 1950's, before digital motion pictures, over the top special effects et al. These two examples of cinema masterpieces belong in every library as a memory of what was grand cinema by one of the industries greatest directors.

Two versions of Cecile B. DeMille's "Ten Commandments" is a treasure for one to have in a movie library. The retelling of the biblical Exodus is an unforgettable story that reaches many people, for countless generations from the release of the 1956 version to today's contemporary audience. The acting of characters may be over the top, yet the messages as well as the cool special effects of the time are still breathtaking.

While I have seen this same version on Video Cassette and DVD, the enhanced features watching it on Blu-Ray in my 4K Player/TV is outstanding. The color enhancement from the older 1923 version is excellent and far surpasses the Cassette version. While the movie is much too long for children, my grandchildren did watch a significant amount and were stuck to the TV which is hard for 4 and 5 year olds.

I was very skeptical when it came to the remastering of a movie this old, but all my worries were for nothing, as the remastering is amazing. The opening scene is very dark/red, so I was worried for the first 3 minutes of the film, but all other scenes looked amazing. I would recommend based on the quality of this film's remastering. It looks like the film was filmed originally in HD.

Be warned, Blu- Ray nor DVD Has No black bars at the top & no options to change it on menu so That's disappointing... But, For us , this is our Favorite Charleton Heston Movie. Absolutely The # 1 Classic Bible Movie!! I highly recommend this for Jews, Christians & Gentiles alike. The great Mr. Heston is just awesome in this and he's been in 2 other classics as well. So glad it's on blue-ray.

This is such a classic! We usually only get to see this around Easter time, so its great to be able to see this whenever you want. Amazing to see how this was filmed in 1956, and interesting to see how far things have advance when comparing the 1923 version to the 1956 version. The image upscaled reasonably well - remarkable for such an old movie. Well worth the cost.

Classic movie with great acting and story telling, terrific music, wonderful sets and top notch production values. My kids love it and we’re amazed when I pointed out that there was no CGI just some blue scene stuff; huge cast and sets for the kind of epic film not made any more. The blu ray is a huge up grade and it looks great. Bonus 1923 version is a nice plus too.

Relive the life of Moses and how he led his people out of slavery in his battle with the pharaoh. I have always enjoyed this movie but it isn’t shown too often on TV so when I saw it on Blu-ray I immediately got it. If you like the different stories in Biblical History you will want to have this movie. Superb acting by Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner , and Anne Baxter make this an excellent movie to watch with the whole family.

Cecil B. DeMille's triumphant 1956 Ten Commandments film masterpiece belongs in every DVD collection. Until I found this package, I didn't know the great DeMille also made a 1923 silent version. So it was a no-brainer to get this set. I've seen the 1956 version several times, so I look forward to watching both in the near future.

STELLAR PICTURE QUALITY! The digibook packaging is awesome too, always my favorite kind. The 6K rescan of the film is unbelievable and very apparent. This isn't even the 4k version and it looks amazing. Very impressed

As the owner of the previous Blu-ray edition of The Ten Commandments, I was hoping for a newer transfer. Unfortunately, this is the same transfer as was done a few years ago. The good news is that this item is attractively packaged in a book format. In addition, it comes with the 1923 silent version, not previously released on Blu-ray. If you don't have The Ten Commandments on Blu-ray, this is an nice edition to add to your collection. If you are only interested in a newer transfer, you would be out of luck.

If you're a fan of this movie, then you should pick it up in this format. This is as good as it will get for video and audio until Paramount decides to release it again but in 4K. You get both version the 1923 and 1956 versions in the same package at a really great price.

The Ten Commandments 1956 is second best to The Passion of The Christ. The Commandments had everything according to the Holy Bible this let's you know the research was thorough and TRUE. ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES.

Charlton Heston and Cecil B Demille , what more needs to be said. Over sixty years later and the story is still as great and pertinent as it was back then and now the beauty has been brought to Blu ray.

Worth the pick up. The HD transfer is phenomenal for a film this old. If your looking for a biblical film this is the one to get. Some of the newer ones distort the story. I like the package as well.

The 10 commandments being a classic as it is the colors are really popping out in this 4K transfer. if you are a fan of this movie you will need to purchase this for your collection can't go wrong.

I ordered the movie online and a day later it was ready at the Best Buy store for me to pick up. They brought it out to me in my car (drive thru line). I did not have to go inside.

Fantastic Movie. Brings me back to when I was a kid on Easter. My wife wanted to see for Easter/Birthday, but they didn't show it, so thanks for having the movie available.

I watch this when I was 9yrs old with my father mother and my elder brother. Never forget this movie that’s why I bought this one and comes with a book that’s good deal.
