This Steelbook artwork is an awesome addition to any TCM/horror collection. The transfer here also looks amazing, especially considering the film was shot on 16mm in 1974. It looks really great. The only special features are 4 separate commentaries with various cast and crew, which is my only complaint here. Wish there were more features but the amazing packaging and transfer still makes this a pretty solid recommend. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the most effective and visceral movies ever made. It's amazing that it is just as alive and potent in 2018 as it was in 1974. The movie is beyond deserving of its legendary status and this is a nice addition to the collection. Get it while you can!

its crazy to think about in terms of time, where this franchise started and where it is now. the series has its hit or misses, but theres NEVER going wrong with the original classic, now in its second blu ray release. is it worth it? NO QUESTION. yes the packaging should've been blu ray sized, and maybe we didnt need the dvd copies, but the overall look of the packaging, inside and out, is wonderful. ALL old features have been ported over as well as in the inclusion of a fair amount of NEW material. any fan of this, old or soon to be, could not go wrong with this purchase.

Nice looking steelbook. Very good looking print of the movie. Includes four commentary tracks! Maybe the (upcoming in a few months, as of this writing) 4K UHD disc with bonus disc might work better for you. But this is a perfectly great and acceptable copy of the movie if you're a fan.

Upon being surprised that no one was carrying this movie on Red-box or Netflix during Halloween (or even in local stores), I decided to purchase it on bluray. What a wonderful choice that was. Was super crisp and clean w great surround; super awesome considering I think this was originally on film back in the 70's. Usually when you buy an old movie on bluray, its simply copied to it instead of enhanced; but this thing was super awesome!

One of the core original "slasher" movies get a much awaited "4K" transfer and it delivers in every way possible. I never thought this film could look good on blu-ray. It's looks an entirely new film. The extra blu-ray has tons of hours of special features worth the price alone. Any horror film buff needs to own this 4 disc edition. Forget the 1 disc, fork over the few extra bucks and get the definitive edition!

I've never seen this. Everyone raved about it. It was a very good horror movie. The last 30 minutes are extremely good. And it was shot on dirt-cheap 15 mm film stock; the blu-ray still managed to upll out detail. There was fine detail in close-ups which I didn't think would be possible. It's a pretty clean transfer and the sound was quite good too. Recommended.

First off, I'm very disappointed that my local bestbuy did NOT carry this 40th ann edition NOR the standard edition on release day!! I had to order online. So I can't go into detail as far as what u get with this edition? But I have seen it on utube & it's amazing! U get 4 disc's & sum really interesting special features! that aren't available on the standard release. So i have to own both!! The artwork, packaging & features on this 40th ann edition are amazing! I recommend any hardcore fan must own this!

What else needs to be said about this movie that hasn’t been said already? It’s the granddaddy of modern horror, and it finally gets a beautiful steelbook package. The 40th anniversary transfer is absolutely stunning and the cover art is first-rate. Included is four audio commentaries as the only special features so anyone looking for more bonus content needs to look at the four-disc blu/dvd combo pack for a disc’s worth of extras.

Beautiful artwork on this steelbook, the blu-ray has a solid transfer keeping the grittiness intended for the film. The inner sleeve is plain black, which I actually enjoy as it allows me room to decorate them with images from the older dvd I have. For the price, this steelbook was a no brainer!

An amazing horror tale full of gore. A good watch.

I’ve wanted to see this for years. Once this deal came up I had to jump on it. The Steelbook is awesome and the Blu-ray looks and sounds great! Also I loved the movie although it left me feeling very uneasy.

Got Texas Chainsaw for good price of $19.99. Picture quality the best it has ever looked and audio good. Ports of supplements from previous Texas Chainsaw release. Has new supplements to this release as well including new deleted scenes and outtakes, new interviews with cast and production. Comes with two Blu Rays and two DVD's also containing same things as the Blu Ray's. The end all set for the classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A required purchase.

Dark Sky has blessed horror film fans with a fantastic blu-ray release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. One of the best and most influential horror films ever made, this 40th Anniversary edition features a top-tier hi-def transfer that's packed with bonus features. Even if you own the previous 2008 blu-ray edition from Dark Sky, the improved video & audio are worth the upgrade alone. A lot of love went into this release - kudos to Dark Sky.

I debated a long time on purchasing this due to the high selling price for 1 movie I already have on dvd. Glad I got it at a deep price drop. The 4K scan and 7.1 audio approved by Tobe Hooper really are impressive. Big upgrade that makes you feel like your in the movie. Packed with new extras, memorabilia and prestine packaging well worth a buy for a big fan.

This movie is a classic, and I love it so. I own a Samsung HU8550 4K TV so when I saw that this was 4K scanned, I had to see what it looked like. To be honest, it looked like a movie that was recently made but was filmed to look old. It wasn't AMAZINGLY sharp but you can most definitely notice a difference. I only had the DVD of the original to compare the two and clearly the blu ray had the better picture.

I was finally to track this movie down, and in a single pack no less! Great Movie! Nowadays it looks like Best Buy and 2nd or 3rd hand stores are the only reliable areas to purchase horror movies. Everywhere else does not have them. The price was also good .

There've been several versions of Texas Chainsaw released- this, by far, is the best one. The audio is great and the picture is so good it's like you're watching everything happen through your window instead of a TV screen. The other great thing about this is that it collects all of the old special features from previous releases, as well as providing hours of NEW ones. Take my word and buy this Blu-Ray.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is one of the greatest and most influential genre films to ever be released. This BestBuy exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook features the same disc found on the 40th Anniversary Edition. The original artwork featured on the front is really nice and the Steelbook has a glossy finish. Unfortunately, there is no interior artwork.

This is one of my longtime favorite horror movies. The film transfer is top notch and I really like the graininess of the image. The surround sound remix is excellent too. Steelbook a plus. Don’t hesitate to purchase this while you can.
