Great and my favorite of the Texas chainsaw massacre franchise

love the texas chainsaw massacre movies! this was a must have in my collection, at a great price too!

Fantastic edition to the film series. So good!!!!!!

There's a lot of movies that Hollywood has remade and rebooted that aren't all that great. In fact,many of them are just don't right awful because what they do is they want to recreate it in their own image more than sticking with the formula of what made it a hit in the first place. It'll give you the horror that you seek but the storyline falls flat,at least for me it does. I can take it or leave it,but too each their own.

As prequels stand, this one isn't as bad and the origin of Leatherface is not as convoluted or in-depth as other prequels tend to go. This does, however, explain some details that weren't really necessary or interesting to explain in the first place. However, this does have the same look and feel as its predecessor which is good.

My absolute favorite slasher series of all time. Needed this to complete the collection.

A solid prequel to the remake, in some ways better than it.

Because I was disappointed with the 2003 remake, I wasn't too excited about a prequel to that remake. However, after reading some positive reviews, I gave the film a chance; I'm glad I did. The two things I especially liked about the remake -- the dark atmosphere and R. Lee Ermey's performance -- are each much better. The tone of this film is darker than the remake, but Ermey has some hysterical lines of dialog throughout, and he has a much bigger role. The film is fairly simple, but it works and ends up being one of my favorite horror films of the last decade. The DVD includes a great hour-long documentary as well as deleted scenes. Highly recommended.

What I liked about this movie is that it was strictly to the point. It never leaves you in an unknown midst of curiosity. It is simply horror from minute to minute. Cannibalism to its sickest and human brutality at its worst. For those with a weak stomach this movie will be torture but for those who like it horrifically brutal you will definitely be overwhelmed by this movie. It is one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. When you go to bed you'll hear that chainsaw running. ;)

well texas chainsaw massacre the beginning is an ok movie not as good as the remake but still pretty good it has some good kills in it and it has some good humor in it so if you want to know how it all started than i would check it out and the guy that played the cop in the remake is in this and he again has some great one liners like he did in the remake so if you are a fan of the texas chainsaw movies than i would check it out

Texas chainsaw massacre: the beginning is a prequel to the 2003 remake. Most of the family of leatherface returns for this one. Very brutal film. In this one its revealed why leatherface wears a mask of bandages. Leatherface is scary in this one.
