this blu-ray is a solid upgrade over the dvd but nothing amazing like some of the criterion releases. there are some good bonuses such as a 50s tv show spin off. if you like THE THIN MAN you should check out STAR OF MIDNIGHT. it has WILLIAM POWELL basically playing the same role but GINGER ROGERS in MYRNA LOY's role

The Thin Man is a gem. Over the years I have watched it many a time and have introduced others to its pleasures. Its release in high definition blu-ray was long overdue. I love the banter between Loy and Powell.

We love the OLD movies. The Thin Man has so much comedy built into the mystery. William Powell and Myrna Loy are fantastic. Great movie for all ages, nice clean fun movie. Must watch them in order.

It's a classic murder-comedy, and it takes place from before Christmas-New Years, so it makes great Christmas viewing when you're finally sick of the usual classics.

This is one of the best movies ever made. I've been waiting for this to come to blu-ray. Now I want the 5 in the series on blu-ray.

This classic is so much better looking and sounding on Blu-ray than on DVD. That's all that matters for this title. Get it!

This first of the "Thin Man" series and the best of them started a line comedy, romance and mysteries. Through in a lovable dog and how could the studios go wrong. This type of film was copied later but were short because the team of Powell and Loy could not be duplicated. The film gives a decent (Hollywood) picture of life in the mid 1930's Very well done.

William Powell and Myrna Loy are a great pair in this film series. A little banter between the two of them: "She grinned at me. 'You got types?' 'Only you darling - lanky brunettes with wicked jaws."
