Steelbook is beautiful, as well as the 4K Transfer. However, BestBuy shipping continues to be garbage. Steelbook was shipped in simple, padded envelope. Honestly, do yourself a favor and buy in-store if you care about having a non-damaged steelbook.

Universal's UHD release of The Thing has been long anticipated and the disc does not disappoint. The video and audio presentations are very good, the former particularly pleasing and a high yield upgrade over the 13-year-old original Blu-ray.

Amazing, fantastic, groundbreaking horror! A pure horror thrill from start to finish. Worth watching at least once a year for the experience alone. This is the best quality version available, so pick it up.

Didn’t really want to see movie when it first came out. After all the reevaluation since it first came out, had to see it. Wow it really works on your nerves. Much better than Halloween. The 4 k puts it over the top.

The Thing is a classic movie and was phenomenal before the remaster. But now, it’s even better with the High Dynamic Range format. This is a “must buy” for collector’s and fans of this movie.

Good all time classic. Great 4k transfer. Storyline keeps you interested and has enough mystery to keep you intrigued. The transformation scenes are still jaw dropping to this day!(deontay wilder reference). Movie looks great in 4k.

I've waited too long to watch the original version. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! I watched the remake a few years ago and needed to see the original. This does not disappoint and will entertain you throughout. highly recommend.

4k Video: 9.25/10 Audio: 9/10 This is my favorite Carpenter film. It is a slow burn but not for too long. The pace picks up soon enough and never lets up with the suspense. The score is haunting. The 4k quality is among the best I've seen.

This is one of my families favorite scary movies. This native 4K version has to be the best this movie will ever look and the new 7.1 DTS-X mix certainly adds a little something extra to the movies impact.

The greatest horror movie ever. Carpenter's best (with Big Trouble In Little China a close second). Steelbook art is beautiful. Will probably end up combining the Shout 4k remaster with this Universal 4k UHD into one. Worth every penny!

Awesome Steelbook art, I love the original poster art on the backside as well as the awesome twisted face on the front. The 4K scan I crisp and the best I’ve ever seen The Thing, so this is a must have purchase for any die hard fans.

What can I say about this film that you haven't seen before. I've owned the VHS version of this as a teen. Then the DVD, later the Scream Factory Blu-ray. Now in Awesometacular 4K UHD disc. This is the best this film has ever looked.

Unfortunately I'm not able to watch this and some of my other 4k blu-ray movies that I purchased because I had to return the 4k blu-ray player that I just bought due to it possibly being damaged considering how the box looked.

A bonafide classic comes to 4k. This movie has never looked, sound as good as this release. I own this film on digital 4k and dvd. This disc beats both in terms of quality. Blacks are deep, whites are bright. Dts x surround mix.

Always was a fan of the thing, ultimate paranoia movie, far better than 50s version, finally became available on 4k blu ray, flawless picture and now in dts x, if your a fan of this movie this is the only way to watch it.

This is the only way I'll watch The Thing going forward. Been watching it multiple times a year for nearly a decade and watching this 4k restoration was like seeing it for the first time. Every frame is a painting here.

Was very happy when I heard ' The Thing ' movie was coming out in 4k. I immediately pre-ordered the movie and when I got it was thrilled with the Steelbook design. Another classic movie in 4k only available through Best Buy
