Great movie! This movie came out when I was 11 or 12 years old. Surprisingly I never saw this when I was younger. This movie was a ton better than I thought it would be. Great cast great acting great writing and quite scary. I was surprised how well the old school special effects actually looked pretty good to bring the monsters to life. I would highly recommend this movie

Now this movie is something of a debate thats still happening till this day about the ending mostly and also parts during the movie, but just goes to show you how great a movie is when its still debated on so many years later

The Thing is one of there best movies ever made. Great Steelbook release with a matte finish. The new are is cool, but I'm happy they decided to include a version of the original art on the back. 4K transfer looks really good.

If you are a fan of horror and/or sci-fi and you haven't seen this film, do yourself a favor and pick this up! TO THIS DAY, the visual effects hold up. Almost 40 years old and it's still gross, suspenseful and unique.

Not even close. In my top 10 movies all time and #1 SciFi. In addition, this bluray is loaded!!! Put your phone down right now, and run (not walk) to your nearest Best Buy and get this while you can. And becareful when you are paying..."He can be one of those things!!!"

Picture and Audio quality are leaps and bounds over the Blu Ray. Highly recommend the upgrade especially if you don't own on Blu Ray already. Lacking in special features but it's the best the film has ever looked.

So happy I was able to get one of these steelbooks., The Thing has never looked better, it honsetly looks fantastic, great clarity and the color grading really makes it looks so much better than previous blurays.

The new scan looks gorgeous and thankfully all of the original extras have been carried over from the original release. A big plus. Missed out on the steelbook although I like the original poster art here better.

One of the best as Sci-fi films ever made, and now on 4k, what could be better!? This Steelbook has a simple yet very effective design, relaying the uncertainty and slight discomfort this movie will bring to you!

This is my second all time favorite science fiction movie behind ALIEN. I have 2 versions of ALIEN in the steelbook case, I now have 5 versions of The Thing in the steelbook case. What a beautiful collection.

4K is perfect, audio as well! The movie itself is a classic and Kurt Russell is great! The special effects are what rules her though, and the 4K transfer really lets them shine!

A classic John Carpenter film. Saw it in the Theater in 1982. Had a DVD copy several years ago. Upgraded to 4k and not disappointed in the better clarity and sound. Well worth it if you are a fan of the film.

The transfer on this movie 4k upgrade is really well done the audio is great the detail and colors are awesome I would highly recommend this Universal upgrade

I was looking for this blu ray for long time. Now i got it in 4k. This is an amazing improve picture quality and dts-x . Never look so perfect it is like watch it for the first time. One of my favorite movies.

Great film, one of the best horror films ever made in my opinion. This a great transfer and a really awesome audio track.

The Thing finally in 4K. Really like the movie. It cleaned up real well in the 4K format. The clarity on the actors is really good , as well as the special effects . I f you like this movie buy this version.

John Carpenters The Thing, one of John Carpenters best and one of the best science fiction movies of the 80's. 4K version is pretty good, looked good on my LG 86 incher.

This isn't the special edition The Thing, but it's in high def on Blu Ray. Disc still has special features on it too. This is must own cult classic, everyone should own a copy, no matter the version.

John Carpenter delivers with his timeless classic, The Thing! If you like horror and/or alien movies, I highly recommend that you add this film to your collection (if you don't already have it).

If you're into the genre, you will like this one. John Carpenter made an authentic adaptation of John Campbell's short story "Who Goes There", unlike the 1951 Winchester B/W version titled "The Thing From Another World." The disk transfer is decent, but could be enhanced for detail and color saturation.
