Halloween gets all the attention, but this is truly Carpenter's greatest accomplishment. A perfect blend of paranoia, aggression, and grotesque special effects all provided in an appropriately and lovingly compiled and packaged Blu-ray worthy of its enduring legacy. A must own.

It's hard to believe anyone who's looking up this movie doesn't already know it's one of the all-time horror / sci fi classics. What you're probably wondering is whether this is the must-have version. And yeah, it is. Scream Factory just doesn't miss. That's all there is to it.

Terrific movie from start to finish. Looks amazong in 4k and the special effects still hold up! Must buy for any classic horror enthusiast.

Great horror/sci-fi movie that is a classic. I saw this when I was a kid and scared for months. You really have to appreciate the hard work of non cgi effects of this film. I've always enjoyed John Carpenter's films, but I think this and Escape From New York are my favorites.

Carpenter's horror classic looks even more detailed and better with the 4k upgrade then before, well worth it and another classic that always delivers when watching.

Love this movie! The classic FX can out perform newer CGI movies! Also, if you watch the prequel right before, you begin to see the story telling in a whole different way.

Watched this movie for the first time ever recently and I LOVED it, a few weeks later the steel book was released so it was a no brainer I had to have it for the collection.

This is a really good scan of the the 4k release of the "The Thing". There are some 4k that aren't that really good when transferring. But this is a good transfer.

A fantastic transfer at a fantastic points. I picked this up on release day and have watched it twice already. My favourite John Carpenter film is finally available in 4K.

Excellent picture! This movie definitely benefits from the 4K mastering and the tasteful HDR. This definitely beats out the Scream Factory Blu-Ray version of the film.

My favorite horror movie of all time finally gets a great 4k transfer. I watch this film every year and it hasn't looked better than it has here. Steelbook is great to boot

In 4k, this movie has never looked better. This is one of the best horror movies ever produced. You think you've seen The Thing, but wait until you see it in UHD.
