One of the better McQueen films from director Norman Jewison.

You Can't Surpass Steve McQueen

This is the original version of The Thomas Crown Affair, filmed in color and starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. This movie has a very imaginative method of robbing a bank. Insomnia and Basic Instinct copied the cat-and-mouse game between thief and detective from this movie, but this was the original. Steve McQueen is at his coolest best, so it was completely unnecessary to remake this movie.

Thomas Crown Is Quite an Affair

Tycoon Thomas Crown (Steve McQueen) is bored and just for the joy of adventure, he masterminds and accomplishes a daring bank robbery. However, the insurance investigator put on the job (Faye Dunaway) plays an excellent cat and mouse game with him to try to nail him for the crime, and thus the story winds down its inevitable path. This original is better than the remakes.

Not as good as the movie bullet. Some good scenes but other scenes okay.

The Blu-Ray print leaves a little to be desired, but it's solid and the movie is good, so overall it was a good purchase.
I always use a Blu-Ray review website to see how well the Blu-Ray versions were done, so I was aware of the criticisms going in.

I’ve been hearing about this movie for years and since I’ve been on a Steve McQueen kick lately, I figured it was about time to check it out. What can I say? Steve McQueen exuded cool and Fay Dunaway never looked lovelier.

Found it in the Best Buy bargain bin. Although not the recent remastered release, the video and audio are more than adequate for this dated, corny story and two very watchable stars. Some of Dunaway's fashion outfits are a hoot. Well worth a purchase if you like the movie.

Always enjoy Steve McQueen's work and this is no exception. My only issue was I fell in love with the Persol sunglasses McQueen wears throughout the film and had to go out and get some. They ain't cheap!

This is one of Steve McQueen's best movies. Most of you who have watched the film know the story. It is a great movie. Faye Dunaway is also great in this film. A Must watch.

Forget the remake. Steve McQueen is the original and only Thomas Crown. There are movies that never should have been remade. This is one of his; along with Bullit. He was "the king of cool."

The video transfer is pretty good especially for an older title. Still quite a bit of film grain though. Set expectations for a movie that was done with actual real film.

The original! Great cast and original story line. Steve McQueen was great, and as much as I am not a Faye fan, this is a good role for her.
