Great movie, with great animation, and great action.
And best of all....NO MICHAEL BAY!
This is how Transformers movies should be made, with lots of Robots in Disguise and MINIMAL humans

The Transformers: The Movies is one of my favorite animated films and this 4K disc does it justice. The colors are brighter and more vibrant than ever before and looks incredible. My only complaint is that the 4K disc only has the widescreen option while the blu-ray has the fullscreen, still it's worth a buy and it's a huge upgrade from the old blu-ray.

I settled for the standard release instead of the limited edition Steelbook. While I have seen the Steelbook in person and think it is fantastic (better than the pictures do it justice), I like the artwork on this new release. It includes a slipcover with the same artwork. The 4K Blu-ray menu also utilizes this image with HDR highlighting the glow from the Matrix of Leadership, which is cool.
So, how does the transfer look? It is a considerable step up from the previous Shout! Factory Blu-ray. I was doubtful it would be a vast improvement, but it absolutely is cleaner, detail is sharper, and the image with HDR doesn't look artificial--it's simply beautiful to behold. There is no other way to watch this movie now. Be aware, however, that this includes the widescreen theatrical presentation though. So, if you like the 4:3 TV aspect ratio with the entire animation footage present, you will have issue with this release. It's too bad they couldn't include both, but I suppose that leaves room to get us to dip again on the future release that has both.
I highly recommend this release no matter which other version(s) you own. And certainly at the price currently (under $20) it's a great deal.

I’ve lost track of how many different times and different formats I’ve bought this movie haha, but with this 4K remaster, this is definitely the best version to date. It provides both the widescreen 4K remaster and the full frame blu ray edition with some great special features. If you’re a fan of this film and don’t mind buying ANOTHER copy of it, definitely worth adding to your collection.

Words cannot describe this legendary Transformers movie. The 4k is really nice but this movie definitely need Dolby Atmos sound especially when Unicron invaded Cybertrons moons and the glass started to shake that would’ve been nice but overall still a great transfer and if you are a transformers fan this is definitely a must have in your 4k or Blu-ray collection

Watching Transformers the Movie on Ultra 4K is the ultimate Transformers experience! If you loved this movie back in '86 as a kid, like me, then you'll love it even more on 4K. The visuals pop with crisp colors, clear animation and detailed sound. If you are new to G1 Transformers, this is a must owned movie for the collection!

There was a huge jump in picture quality from DVD to Blu-Ray, but not nearly as noticeable when compared from Blu-Ray to 4K.. If you already had this on Blu-Ray, I would just save your money.. Still the best animated movie of all time with a great soundtrack.. Takes me back to my childhood in the 80's every time!

I grew up on Transformers. Watched the 80's shows when a kid. Have every season. My kids love them too. Can't beat Peter Cullen as Optimus. I purchased the movie first on DVD, then Bluray when it came out. now 4k. Couldn't pass it up for $15.

This is how you remaster older animation! I wish Disney, Funimation, and discotek media would learn a lesson from this! Great detail, great colors, and no DNR! I want to see more older animation with its grain in tacked.

The theatrical debut of the Transformers franchise sees many iconic moments, from the death of many beloved characters, the introduction of iconic villain Unicron, and introducing many to the music of Stan Bush's "Dare" and "The Touch"
The 80s cheese of the battling toys is well preserved in amazing HD quality on two discs. And while the plot is light on complexity, fans of the franchise will enjoy the cast of characters on display.

I am a big fan of the original cartoon series z as no went to see this in the theater. The 4k looks good but I wish they would have included the digital version as well. All in all I enjoyed watching it again.

To date myself I saw this at the theater when it originally released. Loved it then and still love it now. I will always have a soft spot for TF in all its iterations.
