This is one of the greatest American films ever made! Not only does this Blu-Ray version capture the essence of Huston’s masterpiece, but the special features makes this cut worth every penny! Beginning with commentary by Bogart biographer, Erik Lax, this release also includes a story about the making of the film, a documentary of Huston’s profile, a Warner Night At The Movies 1948 Short Subjects Gallery, and an audio-only bonus radio show with the movie’s original stars!

A great film about the dangers of greed and madness. The transfer to digital is good and this disc should be in the collection of any fan of "Bogie."

Character portrayals was very good. Actors really played their parts well. Although in this movie the best acting was seen not in the major role, but in a supporting cast..

I don't feel the need to go into detail as to why The Treasure of Sierra Madre is such a great movie because all you can do is google it and get a plethora of rave reviews. It's one of the all time great adventure movies that is lots of fun but also peers into the dark side of the human soul: John Huston was the master of exploring such dark areas but without being so gloomy. Speaking of Huston, there is a documentary about the man and his work on this DVD which is probably the best I've ever seen about him. There is also a very good and interesting documentary about the production and legacy of the movie itself. Last thing I'll mention are the Warner Brothers Night at the Movies feature which allows you to watch the short films that played before 'Treasure' back in 1948: I love how these WB DVD's recreate that experience for today and also 'Treasure' has the best collection of shorts of the bunch.

This film might be Bogie's (Humphrey Bogart) finest hour. It's excellent. Three men go searching for gold in the hills and paranoia eventually tears them apart. A must watch and must have for all film fans with some excellent extras including a 2 hour documentary on John Huston. Add this to your collection.
