This is a movie that is different each time you watch it. A materpiece and Malick's best. The audio and video are spectacular!

Most beautiful version of this film you will see outside a 1st generation film print in a theater. The extended version of the film is a must for any fan. Most of the new content is in the last third of the film, and brings extra layers of backstory and meaning to characters and plot points. Bonus points in the new material are awarded for a music queue callback at a critical moment late in the film that ties to a similarly themed moment early on. Genius work.

I've never seen a movie get a new home release with an optional, entirely new cut included. Director's Cuts are on thing, but Malick revisited this film with fresh eyes and presents a new telling of the movie. It's not unrecognizable, but you can feel the subtle differences from the theatrical cut. Malick described his decision to do this as seeing your favorite band perform songs differently at concerts. Sometimes you hear a song performed in a way that can only be experienced live on that night.

Unbelievable. The Extended Cut of “Tree or Life” is an utter masterpiece. Truly awe-inspiring from beginning to end. The additional scene really add texture to the films overall narrative.
