Great movie with all star cast. Enjoyable to watch.

The movie is based in part upon the 1957 book entitled The Untouchables which was co-written by Eliot Ness and Oscar Fraley and the ABC American Crime Drama series, The Untouchables which aired from 1959 to 1963. The movie takes place in the City of Chicago in 1930, during the Prohibition Era, which was brought about by the Volstead Act. Ness and his team ultimately succeed in bringing Capone to Justice, however he is convicted and sentenced for Tax Evasion rather than bootlegging. There are some liberties taken in the film, such as Frank Nitti death, which is portrayed as a result of him being pushed off the roof of the Federal Courthouse during Capone's trial. Frank Nitti was actually Capone's first cousin and one of his top henchmen, however his death did not occur until March 19, 1943 and the cause was suicide by gunshot. That said, I enjoyed the movie, the solid performances given by the cast of Kevin Costner, Charles Smith, Sean Connery, Robert DeNiro & Andy Garcia, the action scenes as well as the props, background and scenery which were all excellent.

One of my absolutely favorite movies of all time!! Superb actors, Connery, a young Costner, DeNiro & other great actors play supporting roles very well. Great insight/taste of the Prohibition Era, good vs evil. I have low tolerance for violence & this has plenty, but I'd say more cops & robbers type violence than just completely unnecessary violence to get ratings. It was a violent time in history but I can watch with 10-12 year old sons & it is OK in my opinion as long as there is an adult supervising to explain those parts of the movie & why people did what they did. No inappropriate adult situations & the violence is nothing compared to the movies of 2015.

Classic Prohibition era gangster movie based on the legendary TV series. It's a fictionalized portrayal of federal agent Eliot Ness' fight against Al Capone and other gangsters who made money selling alcohol at a time when it was illegal to do so. Kevin Costner works well as the leader, Ness, with tremendous support from Sean Connery and Andy Garcia. Robert Deniro's performance as Al Capone is both hilarious and scary. My only gripe with this particular Blu-Ray release is that the extras are very similar to the DVD version. I was hoping for more bonus features as well as maybe some newer material for this specific Blu-Ray release. Nonetheless, it's still a great movie to own.

I enjoyed it and would watch again. The Story line is what i like the most.

Best Buy is a great place to find value movies to add to a collection.

We love these older movies with great actors and a good plot.

One the first Costner films I saw that made me a fan.

The Untouchables recounts the story of the battle between Federal Agent Eliot Ness and mobster Al Capone in Prohibition-era Chicago. Ness's team does all it can to uncover evidence while staying within the limits of the law, but fail. That's when Eliot learns to push the boundaries a bit, thanks to a tough city cop played by Sean Connery. Although the story goes over the top at times, it's still a watchable movie, especially showing a short-lived slice of American history (when booze was illegal). The best part of the story is the Feds dogged pursuit of Capone's shady financial shenanigans, which eventually prove to be his undoing. In this country, convicting a murderer on tax evasion charges turns out to be pretty effective!

I've always enjoyed this movie and finally getting it on blu-ray just makes the collection even better. The bonus features provided are insightful and the movie looks and sounds great. It's an action packed classic that still packs a punch and is worth checking for anyone with an interest in films or anyone just looking for an old school action flick to enjoy.

The Untouchables is perhaps the greatest mobster movie ever made. It had an awesome cast assembled too. I was fortunate enough to be able to get it here at Best Buy at a decent price.

Picture quality is real good. This movie is about Eliot Ness and the untouchables and the war they waged to bring down Al Capone. Heard that not everything in the movie is true but its still a good movie.

Quite possibly the last great film made by Brian De Palma. The disc does not have a ton of extras, but what's there is good. Features superb performances by Kevin Costner, Robert De Niro, Andy Garcia, Charles Martin Smith and Sean Connery. Also features the great staircase sequence.

What's not to like about a movie featuring Costner, DeNiro, and Connery? Costner hold his own against the other two actors. DeNiro is magnificent as Capone. The scenes are well shot and there's the requisite tension and suspense when necessary. i love gangster movies and this effort rates near the top.

Semi-accurate telling of prohibition day Al Capone and Eliot Ness and his "untouchables". Kevin Costner is very sincere in his role but it's Sean Connery that really grabs your attention. Movie is very interesting and fast paced. Enjoyable enough to watch again and again.

This movie is a classic no doubt. Really good story. A must watch if you like the old gangster type story. The ruthless nature of al capone is an interesting one.

The Untouchables! Who doesn't love this classic based on true events tale! Elliot Ness vs the whole Chicago Mob led by notorious Al Capone. Federal Agent Eliot Ness sets out to stop Al Capone; because of rampant corruption, he assembles a small, hand-picked team.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies and one of my favorite gangster movies. It gives us a glimpse at how hard life was during the prohibition. Kevin Costner and Sean Connery are two of my favorite actors. Great movie all around...intense.

What can say? Great old time prohibition movie. Connery and D'inero are great, with the young and up and coming Costner, a great Elliott Ness. Wonderful movie. A little violent at times, but depicts the old Chicago way during the era. Great movie!

This is one of my favorite movies good acting by all. I really like Sean Connery's character he really commands the screen but doesn't dominate the scene. I can watch this movie over and over.
