I remember when this series premiered on CBS in 1972. It quickly became one of our favorite shows. I am so glad I was able to complete my collection. The return to simple pleasures, family connections, hard work and loving advice from the elders has set this series apart from all others. Long live the Waltons!

I bought the Walton TV DVDS, Seasons 1, 3, and 5-8. I have gotten through Season 1. So far, so good. I have read some Internet reviews about some inferior CD's, so I'm a little wary. We shall see. Stay tuned.

Bought as a gift. They liked them. Weird show though

I strongly suggest everyone get these emotional seasons of The Waltons and especially if you have children in your home.

This is a fantastic set of seasons 5-8 of the Waltons. There's changes that take place, Grandma Walton getting a stroke, Grandpa Walton dying, John Boy leaving Waltons Mt. for New York City, Mary Ellen getting married, having a baby, and then being widowed. By Season 8 Ben is married John and Olivia have left the show, and Jim-Bob graduates high school. As the show progresses the Waltons face the challenges of the world not only transitioning from the 1930's to the 1940's, but also the transition from the Great Depression to World War II. The Waltons remains a timeless TV series, with all 9 Seasons showing how people living in the mountains of Virginia were able to overcome economic and political struggles that gripped the whole world from the time span of 1934-1945.

I purchased The Waltons: Seasons 5-8 [DVD] at Best Buy after watching an episode on tv. I had never seen this series before, but I was hooked after one episode. It's based on a family with several children, who are surviving every day life during the Depression. It's heartwarming tales bring out the love of this close knit family, along with their family values, during a time when wealth was determined by love and not money. I purchased this series at Best Buy, where I found the best price. The dvds play well. I highly recommend this series for the whole family.

I love The Waltons series and the good family values. It will always be one of our family's favorites. It is so much better than what is available on Television now.

Great old classic show. Show that tell you how family struggle in the depression year.

Loved it. Great episodes. I had not seen some of those episodes.

So far I am enjoying going home with the Waltons.I will be able to visit as often as I like.
