Writer/director Jimmy Garelick and star Kevin Hart know what they have on their hands with The Wedding Ringer. It is clear from the first moment Hart shows up on screen and they wear it on their sleeve with a badge of honor. In what is essentially a mash-up of Wedding Crashers and I Love You, Man as well as any other movie you've ever seen with "wedding" in the title there is nothing innovative or unconventional about this film, but it has its laughs and that's all that really matters. With that, the film breezes through its expected beats with a care-free tone and consistent laugh factor that kept the audience I saw it with rolling (granted, they did get to see it for free). Still, this is a film that not much was initially expected of and, if anything, solidified the fact that studios were definitely trying to mold Hart into the next Adam Sandler as here the comedian is blatantly ripping on the title of Sandler's 1998 hit. Sandler is currently experiencing something of a slight drought in bankability and so the studios have moved in on who else they might turn to and Hart has proven a winning candidate so far. The man will allow them to throw together slapdash efforts of films that will turn huge profits on minuscule budgets year after year while trusting that the on-set riffs and improvisations are enough to satisfy audiences need for laughter. Yes, The Wedding Ringer is no doubt a film put together by a committee to appeal to as many people as possible and yes, it is predictable, slightly sexist with a cast of male chauvinist pigs at the core and never aspires to be more than it has to be, but in initially setting its bar so low it doesn't have as hard a time surpassing that bar. I realize this isn't high art, but it's not intended to be and so, for what it's worth, I found the film to be highly entertaining, extremely funny at parts and a raunch aspect that serves to ease the fact this is little more than a rom-com from the perspective of the fellas. The Wedding Ringer is what it is and if you buy a ticket knowing that, you'll get what you want. I wanted a mindless comedy and that's what I was given so consider me a happy customer, Mr. Hart.

This is actually a lot smarter than it looks from the outside. There are some very funny moments when a lonely, nerdy guy has the shocking revelation he not only has no best friend to stand beside him at the altar, he doesn't have any of the other groomsmen necessary to fill out the line required for his upcoming high-society wedding. Problem solved when he runs into the fixer of all potential wedding disasters. This professional is experienced in convincing any nuptial crowd the winner of the Biggest Loser Contest is now Groom of the Year. What he soon realizes is he's in the same spot as his clients when it comes to being sans amigos. The character arcs intersect nicely and the whole mess turns out exactly as it should. It's just fun to watch.

Awesome movie. I watched this movie at least a dozen times or more since I had it saved on my dvr. Josh Gad and Kevin Hart are a great team for an awesome comedy. I was lucky that my wife and daughter got this movie on Blu-ray, which is redone in 4k quality even though it's not an official 4k version. I definitely recommend adding this movie to your collection. I've watched it on Blu-ray a few times already in the few weeks since I received it as a gift. Never gets old, no matter how many times I've watched it. Awesome movie!!

Doug is an accountant with no friends, so when he gets engaged to Gretchen, who has 7 attendants, he is really in trouble! He finds about about a service with best man, Jimmy (Kevin Hart) and groomsmen for hire. This is over the top, even for Jimmy, who enlists 7 unsavory guys. Everyone is learning back stories and taking photos of "past friend events", but things began to unravel when Gretchen suspects that Bic Mitchum (Jimmy) sounds like a made-up name. Good comedy with a satisfying ending!

I did not think that this would be a movie that someone my age and gender (over 35 and female) would like. However, upon the recommendation of my college-age daughter, I watched this with my husband. We were very surprised that we laughed out loud so many times. Kevin Hart was great and loved Josh Gad. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting was good as expected. I recommend this highly. Very enjoyable, not that much cussing and had a good heart warming storyline

You will laugh over and over again at this hilarious movie starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad. Everyone is at their comedic best. And the funny thing is, every time you watch it, you will pick up something you missed before. Does get a bit raunchy at times so, definitely not something to watch when the kids are up.

I didn't go see this movie at the theatre when it was first released and I didn't even hesitate to buy it when it was first released on blu ray. Boy did I miss out, first off I am a fan of Kaley aka Penny and I also like Kevin Hart. This movie is hilarious and it isn't that stupid comedy type of movie like previous ones. The acting is superb and the plot isn't predictable.

Purchased for pure entertainment value. Story line is a little hard to believe but movie itself is entertaining and no one dies................Movie was best of Kevin Hart movies released in 2015. Movie seems to be very similar to story line of "Hitch" starring Will Smith. Lots of laughs and wedding plot of movie makes it a great date movie

This movie is silly, funny, interesting, and entertaining all packed inside a box of laughter..Good timing on a lot of the jokes, that make you laugh so hard, and long that you often catch yourself rewinding the move over, and over...I recommend watching this movie with friends, and family that has a since of humor, and not afraid to laugh out loud....

Once I finished watching the movie I realized that i laughed the entire movie. I don't think I had a movie that made me laugh as much as this all the way through and it was that good. I love kevin hart lol. Both him and Josh gad were a great pair for this comedy. If you think Kevin harts jokes are awesome, Definitely get this movie.

I recently returned from overseas and was not able to see this movie. I made a list of movies that I wanted to see and this one was on the list. It did not disappoint. Kevin Hart is by far one of the funniest actors around now. I actually laughed out loud at this one. definitely a must see if you enjoy a good comedy.

I really enjoyed The Wedding Ringer. If you like Kevin Hart, you will like this movie. If you hate Kevin Hart don't watch this movie. Asside from the typical laughs you expect going in, this movie also has just the right amount of heart. Also, Josh Gad is extremely funny and I look forward to seeing him in more roles.

This is probably the most I've enjoyed Kevin Hart's work ever. He is spot on and so is the rest of the cast. The only thing that hurts this purchase is that it's a DVD... The digital copy that comes with it in SD is awful, the DVD is OK quality. The movie is tremendous.

The movie was good, I wouldn't say it was great. It definitely had some moments that were just ridiculous and not needed (really off-beat humor that did not really fit in with the movie). But of course Kevin Hart and Josh Gad are hilarious so there's always that.

I enjoyed this movie and so did my family. This is a fun movie to watch but not for those looking for superior theme, story lines or acting. This is a comedy movie and a really good one. The chemistry between the two main characters makes this movie entertaining.

I remember enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. This is just one of those movies that people tend to forget about after its release, but I think that it deserves a watch at least once.
