Blew my #### 6 feet accross the street. I admit learning the conrols are difficult but after you get the hang of it, its very smooth, story will suck you in, naughty naughty scenes are great haha, skill trees are none like ive ever seen, they truely make you purposely become the witcher with geralts abilities. Im a big time shooter but when i saw the trailer for this i was sold, never really played rpgs but this one here my friends almost has a personally touch added in and you know it deep down, the transition from starting to making your way to the montsers is great doesn't rush you into things that are new to you, there are a few glitchs ive noticed even in the begining but they are not as bad as some other games, almost has that batman free flow batlle controls with some skyrim, last thing i wanted to add is there are 16 different endings BTW ;)

Just started the game, but it has really stupid dialogue. Graphics are mediocre. Disappointing so far.

Overall this game is okay.....What bothered me the most is the excessive load times, lag in controls, and a quick ending. The map/level design has got to be the worst in this game compared to most rpg's. If this game was more like an open world it wouldn't have the excessive load times and everytime i see a door i try to avoid it but there will be many times youll have to walk back and forth from town to other locations. The controls for me are so/so because of the lag between switching your swords. There will be a time when you have to fight people and creatures and that lag will hinder your gameplay. The storys great and gets you sucked in but there are times when you just skip the conversations. Another fallout of this game is the abrupt ending..makes you wonder if the devs just got lazy. Dont expect this to be a 100+ hr gameplay, its in the ranges of 24 to 30 hrs. I'd save my money and wait till theres a price drop or used.

This game was my introduction to the Witcher series. It's an excellent game, graphics, controls, everything is there, story is good too. Minor thing I noticed is if you replay it excessively, some bugs do appear, but they don't break the game in my opinion.

This is by far one of the best RPGs i have played in a long time. an Amazing and challenging combat system is complimented by an amazingly deep and well told story. Now i wish i could give this 5 stars however their were meny textural problems with the environment that were not improved by installing the game on my system. Next the games background music and sounds were so loud that parts of conversations were misted. Next their were several times i was in a conversation with some ware my caricature or the NPC would drop the audio and parts of the conversation were missed. However these small problems should not be a reason you dont play this game. I give it 4.5 out of 5.

I was interested in this mainly because I heard about how good of a story it has. Yes, it does have quite the story even without having played the first game in the series. My main complaints are that the combat is a bit weak. Hits don't have the kind of impact I would like but that's not too bad. At such a price, it's definitely worth picking up.

I actually bought this game after playing the Withcer 3, It became a classic for me, and I decided to try the older versions. I bought this one, and it didn't disappoint, specially now that the price is really low, you can go wrong with this game. If you like Fantasy RPGs with a hint of adveture. It also gives you plenty of hours of game play. If you like Dragon Age, Mass effect, Skyrim ...you will like this one

Picked this up since I read it was a more "adult" type RPG with a great story. Fun combat and looks great.

If you're looking for something open ended, try Skyrim. If you're looking for something with amazing gameplay, try Kingdoms of Amalur. If you're looking for something not quite as good but with a more engaging storyline, then The Witcher 2 is for you.

So I know a lot of people probably wont like this review just because I have more negative than positive for this game. Ok, to start off i'm not a hardcore gamer or even a person that plays games very often. I played Skyrim and I loved it, I thought that this game would have the same feeling as Skyrim, it doesn't. I would recommend this game to anyone that likes in depth RPG games. The menus are hard to see because I have a small tv (20 inches) so if you have a small tv as well this game will be hard to see the menus. The map on the left corner is hard to tell where you are at and where you are supposed to go. You want to jump off a ledge, open a door, switch weapons it takes a long time. It's simple things like having to press A to "jump down' that turn me off about this game. Skyrim sucked me in with 100+ hours of game play, I can't imagine playing this for 100 hours. I just want to get it over with.

If you are looking for a challenging and interesting RPG then look elsewhere. If you are only interested in graphics and sound then you may have something. Basically, you just run around swinging a sword and approving your character's dialogue. THAT IS IT!! The game should be priced at about half of what it is selling for. I bought it today. There was a glitch that you can't get past in the training arena at the beginning. Come on, that is a true sign of incompetence in programming. Find another RPG to spend your money on. Any other game would have to be better. If I could return this item and get my money back I would. By the way, it is not a game for children due to excessive language and gore/violence.

    Not all that great...

Story is OK, but tends to be the kind of 'adult' title a kid who'd love to swear in real life would want. I got bogged down in Chapter 1 and am waiting for Mass Effect 3 multiplayer to get boring enough to go back to work here. I mean, in some fights you can just mash the attack buttons and you auto-bounce from foe to foe and you do OK. Other fights, well, just hope that the reload brings you a smaller number of enemies. I think one fight to get to a gate took 9 tries, mostly because you start the fight with no way to take potions and if you take them before the cutscene that precedes this fight, they've worn off before you start. Perhaps this amuses fans of The Witcher's books, but not me. OK as a bargain-bin item, though, since it has its moments...
