Almost too much game to handle the Witcher 3 provides great story, a massive world, engaging side-quests, and a rich character leveling system. Combat is much better than the Witcher 2.

Featuring some of the best story telling we have seen so far this year and an unforgettable, dynamic and vast open world, Witcher 3 stands as a must own for not only fans of the franchise but those looking for rich experience they can soak 100+ hours into. Some of the glitches, bugs and other small annoyances hamper the experience but the pros outweigh the cons as the Witcher 3 is a journey worth taking

Finding the Old West in Old Eastern Europe

While this game may be the pride of Poland, and is certainly replete with Eastern European-inspired mythology, not to mention Geography (Skellige, the Witcher-World stand-in for the Vikings and the lands they hailed from, is due west of the "mainland" for example), however as an American playing this game I have to say that what it reminded me of most was the Old West, except without guns, and now there's magic.
While there are ostensibly rival nations at work here, they end up functionally acting more like disorganized posse's, and it is not only possible but likely that in the course of this game you will set out on a mission for one member of a faction only to end up killing another member of that same faction for some other mission.
My biggest concern with the game is that, like so many others, the dialogue options as they are written when you select them are more suggestions/summations of the action you will take, and sometimes the wording is vague enough to leave you leading your character to places you may not have intended to. Personally I lack the discipline to restart after every instance of this, so my character's story, by the end of it, had run fairly far afield from where I intended it. Still, the story is fun, and the dozens of possible endings should keep the exhaustive-minded player replaying their way through the lands of the Witcher again and again.

The Witcher 3 is the best game I've played in 2015. It has an in depth story with an open world that in my opinion, can only be compared the elder scrolls series on crack. There are scenes that are not appropriate for kids (in my opinion). Being a parent, I wait until everyone goes to sleep to enjoy my "good book."
They are constantly adding more to the game so watch for updates. The play control is a little difficult but you get the hang of it. My first big battle was with a possessed bear that I ran across at level 2. He was lvl 5. My heart was pounding because the visuals and sound make it feel so real. I started the fight and figured I would die quickly but the game gives you a chance to fight higher level guys if you use tactics and wide down their health. I ended up beating him and the environment changed (music and a little visual) to make it feel peaceful. It's those little nuances that make the game so great.
I hope you give it a try and enjoy the adventure as much as I have.

Before playing this game I had never played any of the witcher games, so I wasn't too sure I would enjoy it too much. But after starting it I actually got really into it. It has a great story to it that keeps you interested in playing further and further. The witcher abilities are pretty cool and the combat can be quite challenging which is nice for a change. One of the only problems I have with it is that some of the movement and actions are a bit glitchy. Overall it is a really fun game and was definitly worth purchasing to tide myself over until fallout 4.

Take a bit of Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, The Wolf Among Us and add following ingrediences: most beautiful and dense open World ever created, hard but rewarding combat and the most memorable side quests ever created from which many are dramatic storylines full of emotions on their own. This masterpiece is what you get

This is an excellent game for those who like exploring open worlds. Definitely a mature title, even at times a bleak and dark one. Nothing is as cut and dry as the paragon system of Mass Effect, and no matter what choices you make, someone will still probably suffer. Good story, great combat, overall excellent game.

I don't think this game can get enough hype, the world is gorgeous, the combat is fun, the story is amazing especially for long time fans of the game and book series. Even if you've never heard of the witcher this is a great game to play. Any action western RPG fans this is a must buy! CD Projekt Red, great job.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt exceeded my expectations. They improved the game since the Witcher 2. The open world is looks incredible. As far as the gameplay is concerned, it is phenomenal too. Don't rush through the game and complete all side quests. You will have fun. I got it on Black Friday. Best Deal ever.

This game is one the most in depth RPG I've ever played. There is so much to do in the world it will blow your mind. The beginning is a little slow and that might push some people away but you should really push through it. The game is more on the difficult side, not as difficult as Dark souls. If you have experience with games like skyrim, fallout, and dark souls, it will be easier for you to understand this game than someone who doesn't. The plants all around the world, crafting, diagrams(weapons, armor), and item weight system will confuse players who don't have any experience with this type of gameplay. The difficulty alone might push most players away if they aren't use to it. The monsters will kill you pretty fast if you aren't familiar with dodging. Having Dark souls experience will make things easier when fighting the monsters. And one last thing, don't rush the game! Explore every corner of each map. This game is HUGE! P.S if you need help with the game, don't give up on the game and say it sucks lmao look for help online. no shame in that

I must say that I played Witcher 2 on PC several years ago and enjoyed it. The graphics were good on my PC but I opted this time to go with a console version. I have been following the progress, trailers, and any information I have seen on the Witcher 3 and must admit that it does not disappoint. Witcher 3 has a bit of a learning curve to get started but nothing too hard. You come across one of the games mini games, Gwent early on in White Orchard. Do yourself a favor and take the time to watch and study the tutorial. While Gwent is one of the secondary quests in Witcher 3, it is truly an addictive strategy game that will pull you in and hold you there. You may have to do some on line searching for learning videos like I did but it is worth it. Be sure to check with merchants throughout the world for specialty cards. If you love RPG games, I am sure you will love this one. This is right up there with my top 5 all time greats which include GTA V and The Last of Us. Would I recommend this game? I highly recommend this game to all gamers out there.

This game is simply phenomenal! Make sure you set aside a few hours each time you play because this game will suck you in! The graphics are excellent, the story is amazing, and the game play is top notch! I found Witcher 3 to be a vast improvement over Witcher 2 as far as console play is concerned.

In full disclosure, I am a huge fan of both prior games in the Witcher series, so for me, buying this title was a no-brainer. It took me a month, to the day, to get through the entire game of The Witcher 3, including one week where I was sick at home from work with nothing else to do. The game is epic in scope, tells great stories, has beautifully rendered graphics, and allows the player great freedom to choose how Geralt will interact with the world around him. Of course, with great freedom comes consequences. The choices you make may save a colony of children, or doom entire villages. Unlike other AAA franchises that claim to provide the player with choices that matter, in The Witcher 3, choices really do matter, and have consequences that can echo all the way to the endgame.
I would recommend The Witcher 3 to any gamers that love epic high fantasy. If you love games like Skyrim then The Witcher 3 is definitely up your alley.

I have only played the Witcher 2, but this game is an improvement on that one, and is a great way to add to the series. It is a great open world experience that allows for hours of gameplay. This could almost compare with Skyrim for how many side quests there are.

It is a wild ride with a lot of story and content. Haven't played Witcher 2 in a long time, but it does get a lot of recap of the old games which pulls you right back into the Witcher world. Still not done and rather enjoying all the side quests and witcher contracts!

Let me start off with I never got to finish the witcher or witcher 2. So what caught my eye of this game when I first saw it announced was the story and gameplay of the Witcher 3. Then afterwards I found out that devs where making the game bigger than Skyrim and with 200 hours of gameplay to it plus giving 16 free dlc. With all this I then told myself that this game will be worth at launch. And once I finally obtained a copy the first thing I notice is the devs give you an actual thank you card for buying and supporting the game. I said wow these guys are really nice. Once the witcher was installed I proceed to play the game and was immediately fascinated by its enviroments and dialogue from each characters personality. After about 7 hours gameplay Id come to realize I became addicted to this world of the witcher and all it has to offer. Thank you Cd Projekt Red for this true next gen master piece.

Up front, many people are upset about perceived "graphical downgrades" to this game. I would say 3 things: 1st, the game is gorgeous and by far the most beautiful I've ever seen; 2nd, if you're buying any game for graphics alone you are missing out on the best parts of gaming; finally 3rd, the gameplay and depth of this title far outshines any glitches in technical presentation.
CD Projekt Red has managed to surpass both previous Witcher games in every way and seamlessly integrate decisions made on previous generation or merely other platforms into the game to allow you to continue stories you started before. Complex, engaging, breathtaking deep, the world of the Witcher has never been presented better.

This feels like ten times the size of witcher 2. The combat is fluid and the exploration fun. The crafting makes sense and the weaponry is right on target. The monsters are varied and challenging. Excellent story and characters. Best RPG I've played in years

Love this game!! It's probably one of the best games I've played in awhile! Great story, gameplay and controls. There's some bugs, but it's not a game changer and I'm sure CD Projekt Red will keep releasing patches to fix them. Keep the free DLC coming!!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is simply a masterpiece. Immersive open world, engaging combat system, fantastic story. All the pieces required to make a great role playing game.
Not only is the story great, each individual side quest is interesting. Each quest is fully voiced over, with their own individual story lines that may or may not effect you later in the game. This makes you actually care about the quests/missions that are not part of the main story line.
I have put 48 hours into the game so far, and am only 22% done. This is THE game to buy if you want the most bang for your buck, along with great mechanics and an engaging tale.
I have not played the first or second title in the series, but with the extremely detailed 'Character' section in the menu, you can read up on each character and be fully caught up to what is going on in The Witcher universe.
