Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the Wolverine from the X-Men films. In this film we find him living alone in the mountains of Canada until he is sought out by a Japanese woman to come with him to Japan. A dying man wants to thank him for saving his life many years ago. Once there he finds himself in the middle of a feud. The film has a good amount of action and an even better story, be sure to stay during the credits for an extra scene, leading into the next Xmen Days of Future Past.

Another solid entry in the Marvel universe

The Wolverine is another solid entry in the Marvel film universe. Mostly a side story, the plot has no real bearing on the rest of that universe, but is certainly entertaining on its own. The Japanese setting offers the creators a rich source to mine elements from with Yakuza, ninjas and even a mech making appearances. The mostly low-key affair may not satisfy the hardcore action junkie, but for most people, it will be a worthwhile addition to their collection. Not surprisingly, the blu-ray for a recent special effects film offers a spectacular audio/visual feast. The 7.1 audio defines the word "immersion." Much like most recent 3D conversions, it is a very solid effort with some great dimensionality and depth. Rest assured, the cardboard cut-out syndrome of years past is, when it comes to big films like this, dead and buried.

Kind of Choppy, But Hey, it's Hugh Jackman!

Comparing "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" to "The Wolverine" is like comparing apples to oranges. They are both about Marvel's burly and animalistic Wolverine, but they could not be any more different. Origins seemed to explore a bit of Wolvie's past under the framework of the prior X-Men movies (i.e. familiar characters, settings, and themes), but unfortunately it didn't hit home like the prior X-Men films. The writing fell flat, because 20th Century Fox took odd twists and turns with fan favorites like Gambit and Deadpool and then never expanded on them in future films like they promised. Instead of bridging Wolverine's backstory to the acclaimed X-Men trilogy, Fox ended up widening the gap

    Great BB exclusive

The exclusive box is great, great artwork, great extra art pictures. Since it is the 3D version, it has the extended version. 4 Disc total, 3D, Bluray, bluray extended, and DVD/Digital Copy (iTunes and UV.) The movie itself is great, better than Origins. Definitely pick this one up!

Great movie for comic book or action movie fans

I loved this movie, specifically the extended unrated version that wasn't shown in theaters cause it was a lot better, I purchased this for the extended unrated version, and my only problem is having to purchase the 4 disc unleashed extended edition just to get the extended unrated version Blu-ray, In my opinion this should've been available to purchase separately, cause like me and a lot of people we have no use for the 3D Blu-ray or the theatrical version Blu-ray of the movie when we have the better extended unrated version, but if your a big fan of wolverine, or super hero movies, or collector i would recommend it.

    A worthy Wolverine movie

This movie is a tremendous improvement over the first Wolverine solo debacle. The subject matter is respected and Jackman perhaps gives his best outing as Wolverine. The picture and sound quality are excellent. I cannot speak for the 3D; I do not own a 3D TV. I bought this version specifically because it was the only way to get the extended edition of the film. It was well worth it. The extended edition is a superior film; one that finally shows the brutality and violence that Wolverine is known for. The extended version is only in 2D. Also, the alternate ending is a very cool nod to the fans. I wish it was the actual ending.

review of the exclusive blu-ray packaging

The regular unleashed version has all the same discs in a plastic bluray box. This version gives you the extra art cards with the discs in a cardboard sleeve both housed in an overgrown cardboard box. I would have preferred the plastic case without the art cards for $3-5 less.

The Best Movie I have Ever seen

I never liked Hugh Jackman as logan, so I went into this movie with some hesitation. But I was blown away by his performance, the script, the movie in general, and of course the 3D which made the movie. Without any hesitation I recommend this $20 purchase of Wolverine 3D, and I will say it is the best movie I have seen in a long time. Good job Fox on presenting affordable 3D movies that are awesome.

    Hugh Jackman at his best!

This movie was a great addition to the X-Men franchise, and far better than the '09 Wolverine film. There's some great action and amazing talent from the whole cast. It's a great superhero flick that doesn't have nearly as much special effects that most movies of this genre would. Hugh Jackman has really got in down in this one, and the extended cut is even better than than one seen in theaters!

Great Movie and add on to the Series

The Wolverine is a great add on to anyone who might be an X-Men fan. Especially if you got disappointed with the first Wolverine movie. At time it might seem t drag a bit, but the as a whole the movie is very well done all around. The acting, plot, and story line are excellent a great way to spend 2 hours sitting back and watching a movie that's worth the time like this.

    Best possible version

While the actual movie isn't perfect, this version is the best by far. The unrated cut of the movie is more intense and adds an entire ninja fight scene that was cut from the theatrical release. I don't care about the 3D disk but everything else makes this the one you want to get if you like this movie.

A well done story based in Japan. A number of fine fine Japanese actor participated in this film and were outstanding. During this movie we see a Wolverine who can suffer physical pain in addition to all his previous and current mental anguish. His interaction with the soon to be new company CEO is touching. The story is left open for yet another episode.

    Like reading a comic book

The plot might not always make sense or be believable but the action helps make up for it! The latest film in the X-Men universe is great for comic book fans and anyone who wants a fun action film. It really isn't all that different from reading a comic book, though it was a bit predictable. Still a fun ride!
