The normal crew returns with some added benefits of a Simon Pegg and nick frost film. The laughs are just often enough for dry british humor to be entertaining but it just didn't seem to flow as well as most of their movies. While it did have a decent set up for its type of movie it almost seems as though mr pegg and frost weren't as dedicated to this film as others they have performed in such as hot fuzz and shaun of the dead. The plot is also too familiar of an idea compared to the others and the flow is just a tad to predictable. Overall however it was decently fun for one of their outtings.

I know the movies aren't really a trilogy, but this movie seems to make a nice capper for the movies that started with "Shaun of the Dead", and continued in "Hot Fuzz". The movie seems to be a farewell for the main character and for the writer/director Edgar Wright. I'm sure there will be more collaborations (actors/writer/director), but they'll likely be of a different bent.
In the acting, humor, and banter you can see the familiarity and trust the actors have with one another and sprinkled throughout are tidbits you'll recognize from the other movies. The action scenes were wonderfully produced, and you can see how much Edgar Wright has learned from doing "Scott Pilgrim". It's a pity he won't be directing "Ant-Man".

The Wold's End follows the story of a group of friends who haven't seen each other in years who decide to get back together in their hometown to catch up and finish the elusive "Golden Mile" pub crawl consisting of 13 different bars.
Upon arriving they start to notice the town isn't anything like they remember it being. The people and places are all different, yet the same. As they move along the night the real story of what is happening to the town and it's people starts to unravel.
This is a must own for any Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, or Nick Frost fan. Hilarious from start to finish with some superstar cameos.

I rented this strange looking movie featuring Simon Pegg & Nick Frost from PAUL, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and possibly more movies that I've missed, but after the credits rolled I wanted the Blu-Ray right away. It starts out mellow and slow, then gets deep into WHY the movie is heading where it does, and then the LOL'ing begins after the plot changes into an action scifi weird fest. Without spoiling the plot, all I can say is I LMFAO everytime the funny scenes show up. EVERYTIME. This movie is a beer drinking, amazing scifi visual effect, bar hopping & fighting rollercoaster of LOL freaking FUN. The characters are great too. I love it.

After the more mainstream SCOTT PILGRIM, Wright brings back Simon Pegg & Nick Frost in what was perhaps a confusingly marketed sci-fi/action flick. The poster art combined with the title evoke an adventure movie and first third of it is a blackly humorous reunion comedy. As amusing as it was to that point, the injection of STEPFORD WIVES & INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS DNA really upped the flick while bringing it more firmly into the Wright neighborhood.
Thoroughly entertaining!

Both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz showed that Edgar Wright and pals know how to do parody/homage right, and now that we have The World's End, they're three for three. As with the previous two films, the humor is present in ways both subtle and not, and the movie manages to spoof a genre (in this case apocalyptic invasion movies), and be a good example of the genre. What's different here is that the character development goes even deeper than before, and what we have is a rollicking alien-fighting action comedy that also is an at times heartbreaking look at addiction and its social costs, and about having to grow up when we don't want to. Highly recommended.

Decent comedy movie. Not as good as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz but good it's own way. Worth watching if you like those other two movies.

I drove two hours to see the original Shaun of the Dead in theaters and it did not disappoint. The thematic follow-up Hot Fuzz poked fun at the conventions of cop movies.
The 3rd film, the World's End is still enjoyable, but doesn't meet the highs of the previous films. Partly this is because the swerve that occurs at the midpoint of the film was spoiled by marketing. So the tension and mystery that should be building in the first half doesn't exist because you already know what is coming.

Edgar Wright's, Simon Pegg's, Nick Frost's Cornetto Trilogy finale is a barrel of bellylaughs. Pub crawlers in a small English village must contend with the inconvenient possibility that the apocalypse truly is at hand. The drinks, the weirdness and the laughs don't suffer though. I laughed loudest at the trilogy conclusion and I humbly ask the creators to extend it to at least a quadrology.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a great team in movies. This is a comedy based on 5 friends who failed to make 12 pubs, 12 pints in one night in their youth, so they get together to try it again. The story unfolds with buddy comedy and turns into a Sci-Fi absurd homage to Invasion of the body snatchers. All makes for good clever fun.
Blu-ray disc, packaging, picture and sound quality good. Presented in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. With lots of extra features.

How many times do they have to make a movie with slight variations, but the same basic type of story and cast?

If you liked any other movies with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost you know what you are getting into, for those who have not seen them before a brief summary. Imagine if "The Breakfast club" was fast tracked 20 years and had more realistic turn outs for all the characters, and the rebel has not changed. Now he wants to relive the glory days by actually completing a pub(bar) crawl that the group did not complete after graduation; only; some issues have not healed with age, and the town has changed but in very creepy way has remained the same.

Now I love Simon Pegg- he's one of my all time favorite actors- so this might be a little biased. I LOVED this movie. It dragged on a bit in the beginning but once the action started, the pace was very smooth and it was a great balance of action and comedy. The only problem I had was that it took longer than I would like for anything to really happen at the beginning. Oh and Nick Frost fighting? Best part of the movie!

I love Simon and in what seems to be the last of the "Cornetto" films, which is quickly becoming my favorite with continuous viewings, he proves his comedic genius yet again. I love that it keeps in line with the Sci-Fi genre of the Cornetto trilogy and this is truly Nick Frost's best performance, he seems to be really growing as an actor, in his own right, and breaks apart from the sidekick role, yet still continues to be the best friend. Loved every bit of it, especially its theme of humanity, etc.

This movie was a blast and had me laughing out loud. Although I did have to wait a while for the story to get started (I felt). The truly great scenes were anything where they were drunk and bickering with each other. Reminded of the days when I did that more often. If you liked Hot Fuzz then this will provide with more of that style of comedy. If you didn't then beware. This might not be your cup of tea.

This is of course a must have for those who liked Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Although I still rate Shaun of the Dead as the best of the trifecta this is another fine screwball take on the monster movies that this group seems to have almost perfected. One could grow up but why, when you could save the world, or atleast your home town. I absolutely recommend this if you like parodies or off beat comedy.

Saw this one in the theaters & knew I'd buy it as soon as it came out. Personally, of the 3 movies, I like Hot Fuzz the best, this one comes in 2nd, then Shaun of the Dead. If you like the other 2, this one is for you! Don't watch the movie expecting anything other than Stupid Hilarity. If you are looking for a point, then you're wasting your time. But if you like British Humor, this is a Must Have!

World's End has a solid cast and does a good job of investing you in all of the characters before the inevitable big twist that we have come to expect from Nick Frost and Simon Pegg comedies. The movie starts to drag a bit towards the end and some people may be unhappy with the conclusion but if you are a fan of these two comedians you will probably like this movie.

Love the main characters of this film, so to see them in another OUT OF THIS WORLD adventure is pretty cool.
A groups of friends get back together when one of them falls deep into depression and wants to relive one of his most rememorable moments of their your life only to find out that their home town is no longer the same. Funny for sure.
