Hello, I'm a Hugh fan of all things outta this world, UFO's and other shows that are very well directed. Great show. Every day I get a email from Bestbuy and if you don't perhaps you might rethink it due to the prices. The X Files was in the deal of the day and it was $99.00 for the collectors set and this XFiles collectors set sells for $279.99 today regular price 08/20/2016 so I'm very pleased with X files and Bestbuy for having these and other great buys. So find your Deal or the Day and DONT delay. Season 1-9 all bluray. Thank you for reading Reviews help consumers

The release of this on bluray is so exciting. The quality of these remasters is stunning and do not worry about the first few seasons now being widescreen. They were initially shot this way and then cropped for tv. This set is first to actually provide original frame.

The entire collection in one box! Every episode, every monster, every cover up...you get the idea! Never be without your X-Files again, and it even looks amazing just sitting on a shelf!

    Collector's Set? I don't think so!

This is the way you want to watch this show. The Blu-Ray has great picture and sound compared to the DVD version. There are no new special features on the discs compared to the DVDs but when it comes to the picture quality and sound there is no comparison. Especially the first few seasons that weren't even widescreen on the DVD. Some of the redone CGI is pretty good, some a bit cheesy, but it is still an awesome watch. Clyde Bruckman never looked so good. Ignore Best Buy’s claim in the title there is only (3) discs there is a lot more, around 56 discs or so. But at over thirty bucks a season – RIDICULOUS cash grab - no way - save some money and buy the individual seasons. I own the DVD Complete Collector's Edition Box Set which came in a thick flip top box and each season had its own book with colorful artwork holding the individual discs - it also came with the Fight the Future movie and a ticket to see I Want to Believe. It was a pretty well done set and UNIQUE like a collector's set should be. I had hoped this Blu-Ray set would replace my DVD set but this Blu-Ray set is nothing special. Basically they just took the individual seasons you can buy separately and stuck them in a cardboard box. The box does have some artwork on it but the slip over cover is pretty thin, not sure how durable it is going to be. They did leave enough empty space in the box so you can add a couple more cases but one thing that is really annoying is how the cases sit in the box. Once you remove the security stickers from the individual cases you can't tell which season you are grabbing, the cases stand upright so all you can see is the edge of the blue case. Gimme a break - they should have at least made it so you see the spines. To add insult to injury the cases are in there so tight it is a real pain to pull each one out and check which season you are grabbing. It will be worse once you slip in a couple extra cases in the open space. If you can get a good deal on the box set like I did (Deal of the Day) go for it, otherwise get the individual seasons separately for much, much, less. I wouldn't pay more than an extra five bucks for the box, I probably won't even use it. Do the math before you buy. Collector's Set? I don't think so!

Lots of info available online with regard to this Bluray issue of X-Files and that which relates to the pleasing quality of this transfer is spot on!
