The Holy Bible tells us Mary and Joseph took the baby Jesus to Egypt to save him from Herod's order to have all male Jews 2 years old and under killed for fear of one of them taking his place as King in the future. This story speculates how Jesus must have lived as child while in Egypt before he returned to the Holy Land after Herod's death.

I saw The Young Messiah in the theater and was very captivated by it. The Bible does not tell us anything about Jesus at this age, but the screenwriter created a believable series of events that are based on Bible stories and the history surrounding His birth. It makes for an exciting movie to watch and causes you to think.

Interesting interpretation of a time in the life of Jesus. I'm pretty sure there is no historical basis for most of the story other than a few simple facts. None the less, I thought the story was good, although I did not agree with some aspects of it. I thought that some of the acts as a child seemed to marginalize the later works of the adult. But that is just my opinion and my interpretation. It is well presented and the acting is first rate. Mr. Bean was superb.

My wife and I were able to see this movie in our local movie theater and were happy we were able to purchase it at a good price from BestBuy and really enjoyed watching it and we are looking forward to watching it as often as we want.

What an amazing and thought provoking story inspired by Scripture. Imagine Jesus, as a young Boy, asking His parents, Mary & Joseph, why He is different. Imagine trying to protect Him from those sworn to kill Him. When do you tell a Child all that you know about Him? Can't wait for a sequel.

I knew when this movie first was mentioned I had to see it! It has to be one of the best Christian movie out there. We as a family loved it, and please bring tissues because you will use them!! And you are not a Christian, watch it with an open mind and think about it!!

I'm not sure if it was good or not. The beginning starts off with the young boy who plays Jesus being blamed for harming another young boy who was bullying him. But it was the wicked one who harmed the boy. I just turned it off and threw it in the trash. Just being honest. Just trying to get my twenty five points.

The first time I saw this movie I was captivated by the character of Jesus as a child. The child like faith and love of family and people and the wisdom, he had. I was impressed because as a Christian is very important to me.

You get a little bit more information about the life of Jesus but now when he was a child. A brilliant movie in which you can see that Jesus also had a lot of opposition as a child. I think you are going to enjoy this movie

It was a pleasure to watch a film on his life and not see people blown up or shot without a steady stream of four letter words. Any parent should buy this and watch it with their children. Great story.

The Young Messiah tells us about a young Jesus as He senses He may not be an ordinary child. Good film for the children to watch. We can help inspire them and use The Young Messiah as an example from young.

This was a very good movie. I saw it in the theaters and had to purchase it once it came out on Blue Ray. I know there are some who may disagree, but we all have choices. Please respect the choices of others.

My whole family loves this movie. It was a perspective that we have never seen. It was full of originality and imagination. The life of Jesus as a child was entertaining and made us stop and think.

Whether this movie holds true to what we have learned about Jesus, it was a very good movie that makes you wonder how or if Mary and Joseph told him or if he knew at a young age his destiny.

This movie was very uplifting and a testimony to Jesus life as child. How he had faith that touched the heart of a nonbeliever . This a great movie for the family.

The story was well produced with great characters giving the messiah's point of view of how he lived and how he was searching for answers of who he was on earth.

Treat it for what it is-historical fiction with a lot of blanks creatively filled in. I thought it was enjoyable and I'm very familiar with the Bible and the gnostic gospels. The gnostic text is only controversial to people who are unfamiliar with them or who intentionally misuse them. Those who study textual criticism (including those who are not Christian) don't take the gnostic gospels seriously. I only mention this as an additional thought so that people don't fear the movie (Christians) or use the movie to to bludgeon people who are Christians with silly uneducated opinions about conspiracies during the selection of books to include in the Bible.

A great film that gives me a greater understanding of Christ and his early years. Highly recommend for seekers of a relationship with Christ.

If you want to see the early years of the life of Christ and what he had to endure, you will definitely enjoy this movie.
