I find it relaxing, but not helpful for sleeping.
3 stars. I don't love it, but I also don't hate it.
I was really wanting to love it. I hoped it would help me fall asleep faster, sleep deeper and stay asleep longer. It doesn't do any of those for me.
There is a lot to like about this mask.
The mask is a little bit bulky, but still fairly comfortable.
It blocks out all light.
The vibration settings are variable enough to find a favorite and it keeps the last setting you used when turned back on (a big plus for me).
The vibrations are relaxing and feel good around my tired eyes at the end of the day.
The vibrations run for a good amount of time and I love the way it gently fades to off.
The Therabody app has a lot of good options for relaxing music that fades away to help relax my mind and try to cover the noise of the vibrations.
There's only one very easy to find button to operate powering on and off/scroll through vibration options.
The strap really doesn't get tangled in hair.
There is a lock function for traveling so it doesn't get turned on accidently and run the battery down.
The battery doesn't take long to charge and it keeps a charge for many days.
Comes in a nice, thick pouch to keep it in during the day and when traveling with it.
Easy to wash inner liner and outer shell.
With all that I should be able to sleep well with this mask, but I don't.
I'm a side sleeper and the mask being a bit bulky makes it push slightly against my face, I end up needing to adjust my head and pillow several times trying to find a good spot.
Being a side sleeper makes the vibrations loud even on the low setting. Anyone who sleeps on their side knows how noise can be amplified with your ear on the pillow. The app helps a little. I don't think it would be a problem for a back sleeper.
I have not been able to fall asleep with it yet after multiple nights, different vibration settings, different app sounds. I've tried restarting it to give more time to work.
I find it to be very relaxing with black out, vibration and app music in the background. It's good for easing tension, probably helpful for minor headaches, but it does not help me with sleep at all.

Sweet Dreams with my new mask

I'm a huge fan of therabody products, so I was thrilled to try out the new therabody sleep mask. I have used sleep masks off and on for years. However, I've had problems with sleep masks falling off in the middle of the night or letting light in. The Therabody Mask was comfortable and adjustable. I didn't have problems with it falling off in the middle of the night. I was also pleased to see that it completely blocked outside light. I could see this being really useful for shift workers that sleep during non traditional schedules. I think the therabody sleep mask was also more comfortable than most masks available for sleeping.
One of the key features of the therabody mask is that it has three vibration settings. I found the vibration to be quite intense for falling asleep. I'm not sure that I found it relaxing, although its possible I might get used to the sensation. I've used other massage eyemasks before, which provide vibrations but also provide massaging features. Without the massaging feature, the vibration felt a bit random. Perhaps I would get used to it and be able to use it to relax, but I definitely would not be able to use it to fall asleep.
I love that the mask is washable! It's really important for eye health to make sure that things are clean. The instructions were super straightforward which was great.
I had thought that the app was able to control the settings in the sleep mask. Instead it just provides Theramind sound content to listen to while using the mask. Apparently the sound contact is backed by science, so that is pretty cool. There is an overwhelming amount of options for meditation and sleep music, so it was nice to be able to narrow the options down a bit.
All in all, this is a nice, well made product for the price point. While it seemed a bit lacking in features compared to other therabody products, it is also less expensive than the Smart Goggles.

Good relaxation tool

The Therabody Sleep Mask offers a combination of comfort, darkness, and massage that makes it a really good relaxation tool.
Comfort
The mask is surprisingly comfortable. The soft lining and adjustable fit make it snug without being too tight. Despite its larger frame, it's still lightweight, allowing you to wear it for extended periods without feeling too much pressure on your face.
Light Blocking
When wearing the mask, it provides complete darkness, which is excellent for light-sensitive sleepers. This aspect of the mask works perfectly as advertised, helping create an ideal sleep environment by entirely blocking out external light.
Massage Function
The built-in massage feature feels nice but I had to get mask positioned correctly or the vibration sometimes caused an itch in my nose, likely due to the stimulation of nose hairs. This might not affect everyone, but it was a slight annoyance. I was able to adjust a little and then it wasn't bothersome.
Side-Sleeping
As a side sleeper, I was relieved that the mask didn’t press uncomfortably into my face when I turned on my side. While not entirely unobtrusive, it’s light enough to not disrupt my usual sleeping position, making it versatile compared to other bulky sleep aids.
Effectiveness for Headaches
Unfortunately, when I tried it to alleviate a headache, the results were underwhelming. It didn’t provide any noticeable relief, which makes me think it might not work for all types of headaches. It could be more suited for certain types of headaches rather than others.
Noise Level
The mask is pretty quiet overall, but if you plan on using it with earbuds, it's going to be annoying. The vibrations will cause an echoing sound to any music played through the earbuds. And if you just want to plug your ears for both light and sound deprivation, you can as long as you don't use the massage feature since sounds of the vibration will be amplified in your head.
Final Thoughts
While the mask generally performs well in terms of comfort, blocking light, and providing a relaxing pre-sleep experience, I can't say I've necessarily slept better. However I'm am more towards the extreme side of not being able to fall asleep or stay asleep. So if you just have trouble falling asleep occasionally or staying asleep, you may benefit from this.
Or, if you are someone who values relaxation rituals before bed and often experiences facial tension, it could be worth the investment. However, for all-night wear or headache relief, the results might not meet everyone's expectations. Given the price, it may not be the best value for those seeking a simple sleep mask.

The Therabody SleepMask is made of a soft, breathable fabric that easily adapts to any face shape. It has an adjustable strap that keeps it in place and the contour really blocks out light. Even with lights on, I couldn't see a thing.
It offers three vibration settings and two levels for each setting, for a combination of six options. Once you find the one you prefer, the SleepMask remembers and will return to that setting the next time you use it. It has a built-in timer that turns the device off after fifteen minutes. I guess their research determined this was the optimal amount of time for someone to fall asleep. I had thought it would stay on all night, but I guess once you're asleep you no longer need the vibration!
SleepMask can be used with the TheraMind sound therapy app which offers music and audio to help you relax and sleep better.
The inner liner of the mask is washable, and everything fits in the soft-sided carrying pouch, including the USB-C charging cord. A single charge allows you to enjoy up to sixteen (15 minute) sleep sessions.
It's also an FDA registered medical device and qualifies for HSA/FSA spending.
Although the SleepMask says it is designed to be worn in every sleep position, I found it uncomfortable when lying on my side. The vibration noise was more noticeable on my side, but barely audible when lying on my back. If you're a back-sleeper, this would be awesome! I'll continue to use it as the "black-out" feature works really well! (It would also be great for those short, 15-minute afternoon naps)
Great product and I'd give it a 5 if it was more comfortable for side-sleepers.

Comfortable and potentially useful

The Therabody Sleep Mask is a super comfortable sleep mask designed to block out light and provide a light massage. The mask is well thought out and offers a washable cushion and storage bag to keep things clean. It is also rechargeable. I've used it for 5 nights and haven't needed to recharge it yet, so I would say battery life is good. There are 3 settings for the vibration pattern, each with a low and high intensity level. I barely felt the low intensity setting, so high was better for me.
The mask is very comfortable. The only issue I had was that if I squinted my eyes while wearing the mask it would ride up my face and need to be repositioned. Otherwise, the mask is very effective at blocking out light. I can see it being very useful for those needing to sleep during the day.
So, I don't generally sleep well. I was hoping the Therabody Face Mask would help. From my experience, I wasn't able to get to sleep faster and sleep more soundly with the mask on. That's not to say it won't be effective for you. But if you need to sleep during daylight hours and already wear a mask, this mask is comfortable and effective at blocking light and the vibration is an added bonus. I recommend this product from the perspective that if you don't sleep well, you should try anything and everything to improve your sleep and quality of life. You owe it to yourself to give the Therabody Face Mask a try.

Very dark; not so sure about the vibrating feature

I am not one who has historically used a sleep mask, but I must say I am tremendously impressed with just how dark this mask is. I have worn other masks before and all of them have allowed light to bleed in on the sides (or even through the material itself). That is definitely not the case with this mask. Even in daylight, it is pitch black.
Aside from its light-blocking capabilities, the mask itself is also very comfortable to wear. The material is comfortable and does not irritate my skin at all. The elastic strap on the back is also comfortable and does not "bind up" on the back of my head. It also does a pretty good job of keeping the mask in place.
Now, with that being said, I am not sure about the vibrating feature of the mask. They state it is supposed to help you sleep better, but I cannot get past the buzzing sound. Even though it is rather quiet, relatively speaking, it is directly on your face in what would presumably be a quiet room. Maybe this is why they market the use of their smartphone app to play background white noise... The sound from the phone would drown out the noise from the mask's vibration. Beyond the sound, the vibration really doesn't do much for me. There are three different settings built into the mask, but I was hard pressed to tell the difference between them and, when trying to sleep, the vibration is more annoying than anything. The vibration is subtle, so it is not over the top intrusive, but it just does not work for me. When using this mask, I use it because it is super dark. That's about it.
Again, they advertise using their application with the mask, but the application has nothing to do with the mask itself. (It does not sync with the app, nor does the app provide any customization.) The app is just for the generation of background noise.
Ultimately, as a darkening mask, this product works very well. It is very dark. As for the vibration feature, I am not a fan, but that is not to say other people wouldn't like it. That is a matter of personal preference, I suspect.

Mixed bag for those with sensory issues

Therabody Sleep Mask is a mixed bag for me. I have sensory issues and was hoping from the description it wouldn't be a problem. It is and it isn't. First, it completely blacks out any light so that is great. Second, I loved the massaging vibrations for the most part which, when not pressed against the face is pretty quiet. The part I didn't like was due to sensory issues. Third, it is so easy to change the vibration pattern with a simple press of a button that is easy to access. The charge part is also easy to access. So, what is the sensory issue? The inner lining is scratchy if the mask gets pressed to the face, even after washing the liner. I felt the mask where it pressed into my face even after taking the mask off. Sitting up with no pressure on the face, I was able to deal with it as there felt like there was little contact. The only time it was an issue is one of the vibration modes does press toward the face. Otherwise, I've no problems using it in a sitting position or a laying position if on my back. However, I am usually lying on my side or stomach in bed which caused the issue. I cannot use it at all while lying on my stomach. It was just too scratchy and it also made the sound of the vibrations very loud. On my side, it depended on how I adjusted my pillow. It could be fine as if I was sitting up or very uncomfortable as if I was lying on my stomach.
My rating is based on the fact that it doesn't live up to its promises for those with sensory issues yet, at the same time, it is my sensory issues that contribute to the problems. I would recommend that someone with sensory issues be mindful of what their issues are when trying this mask. I certainly intend to use it for those times I get tension headaches as it did relax the tension when in vibration mode. I will also be washing it a few more times to see if that helps at all.

Sleep Tight with Therabody

The Therabody SleepMask is one of those luxury items where you do not know you want/need it until you try it. I have been using a sleep mask for a while now, as I worked night shift on and off, leading to needing a darker sleep experience. With time, this became an object of need for sleep. The Therabody SleepMask is an appreciable upgrade to a normal standard sleep mask. The SleepMask comes in a soft travel pouch, which helps to keep it protected (in my case carried off by a cat). Upon unboxing, it is recommended to wash both the mask and travel pouch prior to use. Washing the SleepMask requires taking the inner layer out. The inner layer is machine washable, to be air dried. This is clearly labeled on the mask to avoid any confusion. The outer layer (with the electronics) is able to be cleaned with a lightly dampened cloth using water or an alcohol-based solution. When it comes to being clean upon your face, the inner layer is the important one here. I appreciate that an electronic SleepMask has the option to keep it well cleaned in a washer. The fit of the mask took me a minute. The actual strap is easy to adjust and is adjustable to most head types I would say, my wife has a lot of hair and was able to wear this around it quite easily. My issue was that after putting the inner layer back with the outer layer, if I moved around too much or talked, the padding that goes around the eyes would ride up into my eyes. I was able to adjust this by playing the inner layer ever so slightly down within the outer layer. The adjustment of this has resulted in this issue no longer happening. I am able to sleep through the night without it moving on my face (or the padding into my eye). The SleepMask boasts that it is black out, and I would agree. In a room with the lights still on it fits well and lets virtually no light in. I would absolutely consider it a true black out, and that is important if sleeping during the day. If this sleep mask is worn in a dark room at night, I think it is the blackest black I’ve experienced if my eyes are open under the mask. The Therabody aspect of this mask is the sleep-inducing vibration patterns that have adjustable levels. Turning the mask on is simple, with a long press of the power button on the top of the mask. You are able to press the power button to cycle between 6 different vibration options (pulse, wave or constant at low or high speeds). I have enjoyed the wave setting the most. The mask will function for 15-minutes and auto turn off after this. I typically will fall asleep during this time frame. It tends to work the best/be most comfortable if vibration is occurring while laying on my back; however, I am a side sleeper and are still able to experience the sensation however slightly dampened by the pressure of the side of my face/mask upon the pillow. I have had multiple good night, dark sleeps with this mask. Therabody tends to have luxury relaxation items, being the 4th product by them that I have and I have happy to have experienced this broadening of luxury

I have yet to find a Therabody product I do not enjoy and this SleepMask with vibration is definitely no different. I thought there was going to be some time to get used to using a face mask for sleep since I have never used one, and definitely not one that vibrates. However I was relieved when I had zero issues getting used to the face mask, and I attribute it to the super soft foam the face mask is made out of. The foam is unlike any other foam I have felt before, it is very supple and takes zero effort if you squeeze it, so putting it on the delicate skin around your eyes is honestly so comfortable. The strap is way more comfortable than I was expecting as well, and very easy to adjust even with long hair. The one thing I noticed about the facemask foam though, is the areas below the eye are a lot thicker than the foam that is above the eyes, maybe it was on purpose but it really feels like the mask is leaking strangely on my face. And feels like there should be less foam below my eyes to feel more balanced. It is definitely not a deal breaker though, as I still easily fall asleep with the facemask. The vibration settings are just okay, they are relaxing modes, however I think the intensity of them is a bit much as I can often feel the vibration motors rattling right next to my face. I get used to it as I get closer and closer to sleep, but when first put on it is definitely a little intense and jarring. The Therabody app is an excellent app but many of the Therabody products, but definitely not necessary for this SleepMask. It does not seem to sync to the mask so the only thing you can really do is listen to different relaxing songs, which you can do on other apps such as Spotify, so no major benefit there. But the app is great if you have other Therabody products. I have been looking closer at my sleep on my Whoop app and it seems like I have been hitting more REM sleep than I usually do, and looking at the graphs, it seems like I have been getting to my REM and deep sleep cycles faster when using the mask. Therabody definitely has a great product here and I recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their sleep, or currently dealing with some sleep struggles and looking for a natural solution.

I have had a few different sleepmasks in the past, that were either too uncomfortable or didn't provide enough light blockage.. This sleepmask is not one of them, absolutely no light was getting through this mask! Then on top of this the mask includes a soothing massage like vibration with different presets to give you the ultimate goodnights rest.
pros
the mask blocks light very well
it has 3 adjustable vibration patterns that help with sleep
you can remove the inner eye piece and wash it in a washing machine
features a non slip strap that prevents hair tangling
includes travel pouch and usb-c charging cable
cons:
It is really hard to say anything bad about this mask, it works as it should, provides total blockout of light,... as far as using it goes i ran into no issues with the mask, the button to change the massage/vibration was easy to locate and press, the charging of the unit doesnt take long and the adjustment of the strap isn't too difficult to figure out, and taking off the inner piece and washing it took no effort what so ever.
overall this is a very nice sleep aid, i have been using it every nite since i got it and i honestly feel like i have slept longer and better using it. I would recommend it.
