    Percussion for the face

The makers of Theragun (Therabody) are branching to new products. The Theraface Pro is their first facial product. It's mainly a percussion tool for the face, with some unique attachments. The main unit (ours is in white) has a nice finish, with an anti-slip coating. Charging is via USB-C. It does not come with a wall plug, just with an USB-A to USB-C cable. Because it's in essence an impact tool, the tips are padded, so it does not feel like a punch. It's somewhat gentle on the face, but I can feel the effects hours later. Muscles feel a bit more toned after a couple of days after first using it. For percussive attachments comes with the standard flat, a cone for more sensitive areas and micro-point for circulation. It has other attachments that stay magnetically held. The light ring, which can be used at the same time with an impact tip (or by itself) can produce blue light, red light or a combination of red light and infrared. When in infrared mode, it alternates every few seconds to combination infrared and red only. Another very interesting attachment is the microcurrent, which produces a very gentle current, and it's best used with the included conductive cream (Therabody sells additional tubs). It's very gentle and occasionally feel a light tingle when using it. The cleansing ring, I was hoping my kid would be able to use for acne, but it's not what I expected. I was hoping it would provide an orbital motion (like a polisher) but instead it's more percussion. I don't think the punching sensation from it is the best for face cleaning. Other additional attachments like one hot ring and one cold ring are available for separate purchase and so not come with it. The pouch that comes with it is very nice and can hold all the attachments but albeit a bit tight. Because it’s a lot more gentler than the theragun it can also be used in the forehead, neck and chest. On a very positive note, I immediately notice how it can help with light migraine (mostly from the lack of proper sleep) when applied around the forehead. It also seems to have a positive effect in seasonal nasal congestion. Maybe it helps loosen buildup. The light therapy rings, I can feel a warmth effect but I personally think it's not powerful enough. While the science behind it seems solid, it's not proven how much light therapy is effective in these cases. There is a phone app from Therabody that the instructions mention to use. It does not connect to the product via Bluetooth or anything, but I was looking for some routines and recommendations on how to use it, although at the moment I was unable to find anything specific to the Theraface. Overall it's well built product, although percussion in the face might not be for everybody, and would take some dedication and constant use to feel the effects.

TLDR: (that’s Too Long, Didn’t Read) Easy to hold, easy to use, easy to swap and control the various attachments and functions; each with substantial benefits. Pros: * Light and comfortable to hold. * Various attachments magnetically snap on and off. * Easy to use control buttons and OLED screen. * Battery lasts through multiple sessions. * Includes a nice bag to keep things together when not in use. * Optional heat and cooling adapters provide additional benefits. Cons: * A lot of small bits to wrangle on the counter or in a drawer. * The provided stand doesn’t also charge it - it’s just a stand. * Can’t turn off the 8-second beeping during sessions. Details - Setup: The TheraFace charges via USB-C and comes with a nice cable if you don’t already have one. The plug is on the end of the handle which I presume is to prepare for a forthcoming optional charging base, but for now, you just lay it on its side and plug it in to charge. The OLED screen indicates the charging status and it doesn’t take long to get to 100%. Battery status is shown on the screen when charging but not when turned on or during treatments. All of the various attachments click on magnetically. The percussion attachments snap on to the middle portion and don’t have a particular orientation. The ring-type attachments snap on to the outer portion but need to be rotated to match the electrical connection pins. There are icons printed on the outside of the ring to let you know what it is and which way it fits. There are different icons for the cleansing, LED light, micro current, heating (optional purchase) or cooling (optional purchase) rings. One thing I’ve noticed is that if you put the outer ring on first, there is a magnetic attraction to the percussive head that makes alignment a tad more forceful, so put the percussion attachment on first to make installation of the outer rings easier. Details - Typical Usage: There are 3 buttons and an OLED screen. The power button does only that; turns the unit on or off. There is another button that cycles through the options for the ring attachment (if installed) and a button to cycle through the options for the percussion attachment (if available). There are pins on some rings that provide an electrical connection to the ring attachment which sets what options are available to the base unit. Pressing the Ring button does different things depending on what it is snapped on, and the percussion option is disabled when certain ring attachments are installed. The Ring and the Percussion are controlled independently so you can have either treatment type set however you like for whatever session you’re doing. During treatments, the unit beeps every 8 seconds as an audible notice to move on from one facial area to another, if you choose to. I don’t see a way to turn off that beeping, which might be a nice feature to add, but it’s too annoying. I’ve never gotten a professional facial so my only experience is with the TheraFace. So far, I’ve enjoyed every treatment style available. I have even purchased the optional heating and cooling rings and found that they work really well, too. Of the three included percussion attachments, I prefer the pointed one. I have something similar to TMJ and found that this attachment on the low setting really makes my jaw feel better after a few minutes. The other 2 work well, but aren’t my go-to for percussion. The Light Ring has a nice sensor that detects when the unit is near your face and turns on the lights much brighter for treatment and then turns them back down when you’re not doing a treatment so they don’t blind you. The facial cleansing attachment works really well when paired with a nice face scrub (sold separately). It is easy to clean after being removed from the unit, and is the only attachment that fits like a ring but works with percussion. I bought the optional Heat/Cool attachments and they are really worthwhile, IMHO. The Heat one warms up quickly and is easy to slide around and apply heat where needed, but cannot be used with percussive therapy. The Cool attachment cools down quickly and equally works well to apply cold therapy where needed and can be used with percussive therapy. Conclusion: Depending on your needs, this device can provide some helpful the useful treatments. It is easy to hold and use for a while even though it has substantial build quality. The provided stand is nice to keep your counter organized but would have been nice if it could charge the unit, too. There are a lot of options for treatments; each with a different attachment that has to find a home nearby. Overall, I find this unit a convenient way to provide a high level of facial self-care at home.

Ive been wanting a microcurrent device for a while now but didn't want to drop $400 on one (specifically nuFace). This one came out with a microcurrent attachment, face cleansing attachment, attachments for percussion, and light therapy. Well worth the price and saves tons of $$$ by being able to do these treatments at home than going to the spa. Definitely watch a video on doing the microcurrent option, you want to make sure to avoid certain places and that you're even doing it correctly. You can get shocked if you don't use enough conductive gel! You can also find really helpful videos on youtube from the brand themselves for routines with the device!

An interesting device no doubt but works pretty well. I never been that much into facial care however, this little device has got some benefits that make me rethink taking care of my skin. I have a Therabody massager which works really nice and I came across this thing and decided to try it out. Therabody makes pretty good quality devices and this one is no exception. I never thought a face massager would be that beneficial to be honest. I figured washing your face every night would be good enough however I started to get a little tightness in my face. probably due to age but I never thought there would be anything that could help out a tired face. The massager is quite small and is also very ergonomic. It has a rechargeable battery built in and the different heads are held in place by magnets. You get 3 main heads, 1 UV light, 1, electric stimulation and 1 scrubbing head. There are also three center heads which are used when you have the light head mounted; 1 is pointed, 1 is scrubby and the other is flatter. mix and matching these allows you to get the type of massage you need without being too overcomplicated. Pretty simple to choose which one you want so it takes out a lot of the headache of figuring out which one to use and for what purpose. Also included is the USB-C charging cable, carrying case and conductive gel. I find myself lying on the couch and just massaging my face with this thing. It feels good and it does help eliminate the facial tightness I've been experiencing lately. I get a little tingly feeling after I've used this massager on my face and, again, it just feels good. My brow and jaw muscles feel a bit more relaxed after using this for about 10-15 minutes. While this may not be for everyone, I think it's worth a shot if your face just feels kind of old like mine does. It relaxes tight muscles in your face and just feels good. Thinking I may have to gift a couple of these and see how they work for other folks.

    Theragun for the face

The Theraface is easy to operate. It’s small, easy to hold and only has three buttons: a power button and two mode buttons. One mode button controls percussive therapy and the other controls the light ring and micro current. After trying all three modes over a week, here’s my personal experience. Percussive: Much like the Theragun, percussive therapy uses a jackhammer style percussive action to massage the facial skin and muscles. It helps by relieving tension and relaxing facial muscles. Three magnetic percussive attachments are included. The flat is attachment is good for the entire face and wider areas like cheeks, neck, and forehead. The cone attachment is for fine lines, targeted areas and around eyes. The micropoint attachment is also for larger areas and helps improve circulation. The percussive therapy has three speeds and I found all three comfortable and not at all painful on the face. Staying away from bone and eyes is a must. Percussive therapy proved helpful with relieving facial tension and sinus pressure. It doesn’t have the same power and punch as a Theragun, so it may not be as effective as a traditional Theragun on other areas of the body. Micro current: I don’t feel anything at all on setting 1 but setting 2 feels like having my face poked with sewing needles. I haven’t tried level 3 because level 2 is already uncomfortable enough. I haven’t noticed much improvement over a week but I know things take time. If you’ve ever used a tens machine, this feels similar except the pulses are sharper, like a static shock. LED light therapy is easy to use although there are a lot of warnings. I only technically need the RED light but also use the infrared just to see if it offers any noticeable benefits. Like the micro current, it’s only been a week, so no noticeable results yet. For what’s it’s worth, my face feels better after all the therapies, especially percussive. It’s like a lightweight Theragun with extra benefits for the face.

I've used and loved a number of Therabody products and was intrigued to learn they created a device for recovery above the neck. The percussion, which is much softer than their massage guns, left my face feeling relaxed. TheraFace PRO's attachment ring design makes swapping between the 6 treatment options seamless. The device saves both money and counter space by combining what would require multiple devices into a single product. My favorite feature is The microcurrent ring whose performance feels superior to the NuFace product I previously purchased, and the included primer allowed me to test the feature as soon as I opened the box. Therabody's initial facial product foray is incredibly impressive.

    TheraFace At Home Solution

I can't wait to reap the results from the TheraFace Pro. I am late 40s and have the signs of aging setting in. This 4-in-1 device promises to help rejuvenate, lift and tone my face. I need all of that and more. The TheraFace Pro is an advanced solution for better facial wellness. It is a handheld device that helps reduce tension, relax facial muscles, and achieve healthier-looking skin by gently stimulating the face. It comes with the following attachments: 1. Microcurrent Ring. The Microcurrent ring firms and tightens the skins. Microcurrent improves muscle tone and contour in the face/neck. This should only be used once every 24 hours. This is the only one that "hurts" a little. And it doesn't hurt. It just feels a little prickly. You use this with the conductive gel. It can be used on your face and neck. 2. LED Ring. The Red ring is "intended to" reduce the wrinkles around the eyes. The Blue light is "intended to" reduce mild to moderate acne. The Red + Infrared light is "intended to" reduce wrinkles around the eyes and is shown to increase the body's natural healing process. 3. Cleansing Ring. Removes facial build-up of dirt, oil, and debris. 4. 3 Percussive Attachments (Cone, Micro-point, Flat) These are used for facial massage to reduce tension and relax facial muscles. The flat attachment can be used with the LED Ring to make sure you are not getting too close to the skin. I have been using the TheraFace Pro for the past week. It was very easy to set up and get to know the attachments. The website comes with very detailed examples of how to use the TheraFace Pro and each attachment. It even has different routines you can follow. My only complaint, is that is doesn't tell you how often you should use each attachment or what a good routine would be to achieve "wrinkle reduction". It only tells you that you shouldn't use the Microcurrent Ring more than once every 24 hours. I would like to be told here is a good routine and you should expect see results in ___ months. I look forward to seeing the results!

As someone always looking for effective wellness products, the Therabody TheraFace PRO has exceeded my expectations. It is an all-in-one facial device that offers a range of treatments, from muscle relaxation to skin rejuvenation. What impressed me the most was its ability to alleviate TMJ-related discomfort, providing a soothing and non-invasive approach to pain relief. The device boasts a variety of features, like microcurrent therapy and LED light therapy, which makes it a versatile tool for facial health. The ease of switching between treatments using the magnetic rings is a significant convenience. Its adaptability to different face shapes and the portable design are great bonuses, allowing for personalized and on-the-go use. With strong ratings for quality and ease of use, the TheraFace PRO is a wise purchase for anyone looking to enhance their personal care routine."

I like it so far, but still need to explore more functions of the device. The different magnetic attachments snap on and off very smoothly though. Wish there is more detailed instructions of how to use it, because I can't wait to try them. Have been using the LED light therapy, which is easy to use and relaxing, and most importantly does firm the skin. Definitely a good device to have for at home skincare!

I initially saw this on Instagram and I wanted to get it because of how cool it looked. I'm glad I was influenced because this thing is great. I clench and usually wake up with soreness around my jaw and temples. I also hold a lot of stress in my neck and shoulders. I LOVE using the flat massage head and infrared light to massage away all of that tension. The other heads are fine, but those two alone make having this device worth it. So far, I have zero complaints. This unit hold a charge very well.

This small thing is sooo good. I suffer from TMJ, resulted from wearing braces 2 decades ago, so I had my first jaw issue with inability to close my mouth, in fact five of same episodes same day. I went online looking for solutions, many recommended to massage my face muscles, which worked and my jaw closed, only to have 4 more times of inability to close my mouth same day. Manual massages worked to release every single episode, so I decided to look for facial massager and that is when I saw this one. First what it offers under one roof is very hard to find, usually requires use of multiple devices, but this one tiny thing does it all. Obviously first thing I tried was a massager, and wow, my jaw now opens and closes with no issues. After I tried all the other attachments, and I’m hooked. So worth the price.

Relaxation Experience: I find myself reaching for this device mainly at night, as the percussion feature induces such a deep sense of relaxation that I often feel inclined to drift into sleep right after. The hot ring, designed to melt tension away, is particularly soothing for my facial muscles. Dealing with frequent teeth clenching and migraines, I appreciate the relief provided by the hot ring. Almost immediately, I notice a softening in my forehead, giving my skin a more youthful and radiant appearance. My preferred combination is the flat percussion tip attachment with the LED light ring, which glides smoothly over my skin. I haven't explored the cone tip yet, and I find the micro-point tip challenging to use on my face, especially over the forehead, where I feel it's most needed. As someone with lifelong acne scars, I'm hopeful that the light therapy ring, coupled with my nightly serums, will work wonders for my facial skin. The inclusion of a free conductive gel coupon in the box is a nice touch, although it tends to dry quickly in areas not being actively worked on. I suggest applying the gel in segments, allowing for a more seamless experience. Unlike my previous device, the Trophy Skin BrightenMD, which often caused zapping sensations with a thick layer of serum, I experienced no discomfort with the micro current ring. It glides effortlessly across the face. While I wish it could be paired with the percussion feature, I still appreciate the overall uniqueness of this device, offering a next-level facial massage. One attachment I wasn't impressed with is the facial cleansing one; it doesn't match up to my preferred PMD clean device for cleansing. At 33 with dry skin, acne scars, and emerging fine lines, I look forward to potentially updating this review with before-and-after pictures and videos showcasing the benefits of this multifaceted device.
