Good but the SATA power connectors are weak

Nice power supply, but the SATA power connectors were very flimsy. I managed to break one of them without effort and crack the other one. Comparing these SATA connectors to the ones of the original power supply, it was evident that they were far too thin in places. I finally used a 4-pin to SATA adapter instead of the original SATA connector in order to get up and running. Also, this power supply only comes with 2 SATA power connectors.

    Good PS for the price

The PS went in easy with no issues. It is much quieter than my old power supply but still has some noise as expected with fans. For the price I wanted to pay it serves the purpose. No real complaints.

Had a PC that popped a power supply. This is a good supply that is quick and easy to install. Reviewing 9 months later, still working perfectly.

Used to build a new system, powered everything without issue. Plenty of connections and cord lengths were good for my mid tower case.

    Didn't work

This power supply didn't work on 2 micro atx motherboards I tried it on. The motherboards were for Gateway GT5476e desktops. I reinstalled the original power supply. Was hoping to upgrade the power supply before installing a video card but, not with this DOA model.

    Didn't Last Long...

The Thermaltake TR2 430W power supply installation was about average. The unit powered my Dell Dimension 9100, which I use as my Home Theater PC, for about 2 months and the PS is operated very quietly. Everything was great until it suddenly died, taking Windows 8 with it. I had to reinstall Win8 and all my programs. I didn't lose any data but it sure was inconvenient. This computer was run off an APC regulated power source with battery backup. I will not be buying another Thermaltake TR2 430W.

    PSU Not Rated for 430w

Bought the PSU today took it home installed it little to no problems. Ran system for about 12hrs on moderate to low load. Then all of a sudden system loses power, current switch on back had tripped, reset powered back my video card could not be found. Checked card, checked drivers nothing wrong did a little digging on the PSU come to find out the Rail System is not enough for my card even thou it's a dual rail PSU should have no issues. Buyer beware if your wanting this for upgrade for gaming rig skip it find something else.

    got a large case? BEWARE!

hi. I got this at best buy and next day tried to install it. I have a large tower emachine ET1831-07. . It comes with a 250 PSU and I wanted more so that this 430 watts looked good. Most PSUs come with several plugins for the hard drive and the cd/DVD drive. Most power supplies has this type of plugin on two cables. Imagine my shock when I found *only* two plugins on one cable and they were THREE INCHES apart on one cable and there was no way to make this cable longer. But I have about TEN INCHES between my hard drive and my DVD player and no way to move these to different bays. I suspect that this case was made for small form factor computers. freestone

You won't find a better review than right here...

This product ABSOLUTELY should be pulled from the market. Not only does it advertise that it falsely runs at 430w (tested it, and was running at 350w!), but the cords are MESSED UP inside. This is actually an older power supply by Thernaltake which has been repackaged and made to LOOK like a newer power supply. Don't be deceived...it's old, it's outdated, and unless your CD drive and Hard Drive is 2 inches apart, good luck installing this. All this for $69...WAY overpriced for something that doesn't even work as advertised.

    Do not recommend!

This power supply with only 2 ATA connectors 2 inches apart was impossible to connect without paying additional for a cable extension to this already high price! Took it back and purchased a cheaper model which worked out great. Warning..., make sure there are 4 ATA connectors to allow room for hard drive and DVD drive connection and or multiple hard drives. Nice that Best Buy honors 30 day returns and convenient location.

This does NOT support modern Video Cards

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This card does NOT come with 2 6pin connections for a video card which is mandated by pretty much all modern video cards. The packaging is a LIE. Don't buy it if you're a hardcore gamer. And not being a modular power supply is pretty bush league for something that's advertised for gamers.
