I would take it back and exchange it for the wireless one, if I could. The wires get in the way and it gets extremely hot, gloves are necessary to handle.

I wish it would stay on longer as I like to keep an eye on the temp, instead of having to turn it on and off frequently.

I tend to check my food every couple minutes. This obviously lets heat escape and could take longer. With this thermometer, I set a timer for so many minutes just to flip the meat. Then I wait for it to reach temp.

It never worked well, have had this for 8 months and the temperature readings are nowhere close to accurate at this point. Will be throwing away and qill not purchase another therm pro product after this experience.
