Love the double feature especially when kino does them. Sidney pointer delivers twice the thrills and coolness in these two follow ups to his earlier performance in “in the heat of night” there he played sort of a fish out water solving a crime out in the southern element but here he’s back on his own turf trying solve a murder that’s pegged on an old friend (award winner Martin landau) and in the second attempting to uncover a conspiracy behind a series of gang robberies that may be connected with a drug syndicate. Both films probe deeper into Tibb’s personal character, his relationship with his family and the way he professionally handles business in the inner city that is San Francisco. Great picture and sound.
