I kept waiting for They Came Together to really blast off into the comedic stratosphere, but instead this film simply hovered like an energetic puppy caught in midair as it desperately attempts to get your attention. There's about an evenly split 50/50 ratio here of jokes that land and jokes that just sit there, and my hunch is whether or not you end up really liking this film will have a lot to do with how much you enjoy Poehler and Rudd. While never at the giddy levels of the best Zucker films (and their offspring), They Came Together is reasonably amusing and benefits immensely from the innate charms of its two stars. Technical merits here are generally strong (especially the video), and They Came Together comes Recommended

I enjoyed this film not expecting much of it and approaching with "it's a fun movie" mind-set. The two leads are among comedy's current elites and the cameo's by noted actors in ancillary roles is enjoyable. There are too many to count. The standout of this release is the video quality. Absolutely beautiful on Blu-ray. This transfer is not the greatest ever but it is very viable and at the very least, what we should be seeing on regular basis - especially in this day and age. Disc extras are a tad bit underwhelming.

The film was decent, but I consider it a film for fans of David Wain (and his fellow MTV's THE STATE) only. The film is not meant to be taken seriously. At all. It has more in common with the comical farces of the past, versus the typical "romantic comedies" of the present. All in all, good film. If you loved WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER, you'll dig this one too. If you're looking for something like THE OTHER WOMAN, keep looking, you won't find it here!

The ultra fast comic pacing of this film is amazing, almost to the level of joke generation speed as the original Airplane movie with a gag happening every second. I've watched this a few times and found that it is a perfect zany parody of all romantic comedies just showing how ridiculous their premises can sometimes be.

This movie was about average. Nothing really to write home about but it is good clean fun.

This was a mediocre comedy and could have been better.

Good cast. Great cast actually. It had some good one liners. It's worth a one time watch if you are a fan of Rudd or Poehler. Rent it don't buy it. You won't wanna watch more than once.

amy poehler is always good. movie moved along quickly and was fun to watch. subtle humor but still fun

Maybe David Wain's best since "Wet Hot American Summer." Definitely worth a watch, if not a buy.

They came together is a pretty good funny date night movie.

A great cast and a few very funny moments but brought down by an over-reliance on repeating jokes.

Hilaroius movie with lots of funny people involved. If you love Rudd, Poelher, or the staff behind the film you'll love this movie. I have no idea how I didn't know about this movie but if you ever see it, pick it up! It's great.

We were soooo disappointed, as we love Paul Rudd and Amy Poeller. The lines were horribly lame and not funny. We kept thinking it would somehow get better as the movie moved along, but it only got worse. I can't even see how the actors had any fun doing this movie. Everything seemed so forced...and not funny!!!

A movie I first rented and fell in love with. So much randomness that made watching the movie worth seeing because you don't expect anything.

Consistent laughs, sharp writing, great cast. I really can't find much of anything that detracts from enjoying this movie.

I was disappointed that I spent money on this movie. Never got further than first 15 minutes! There are some great movies out there this year, but this was not one of them.

Since this has two really funny people I expected it to be hilarious. It was a spoof style movie so over the top and fake it made it seem ridiculous and not very funny.
