wanted a camera to record while driving considering all the crazies on the road this camera is easy to use and the large screen makes programming easy the gps records location i would prefer a different means to attach the camera to the windshield the glue on system doesn't make it easy to move from one vehicle to another

I have been using various eBay / Amazon knock off cameras for a couple years now. I recently got a new vehicle and decided to get something that actually had a bit of a reputation and name behind it. While I had not heard of Thinkware before starting my research I settled on this for its balance of features, image quality and reliability. I have been using this for a little while now and have had absolutly no issues with it. Grabbed footage a few times for random funny moments on the road and the process was quick and easy both with Thinkware's software and without.

I kind of like it. It gives me the peace of mind that if anything would ever happen then I would have it recorded on video. I don't know how other dash cams compare but the reason why I give 3 stars instead of a 5 is because the angle is not wide enough. It doesn't show the sides. Also, I placed it in the middle below the mirror and I have to tilt the camera a little bit to the left just so it would show more of the left side even though the lens of the camera is on the left side already. It was recording more of the right side and not a lot of the left road so when I was reviewing the footage, I would see more of the road I'm driving on PLUS the sidewalk and the houses on the right side and a little bit of the left lane. I want an even distribution of what is being recorded and the only way I could get that figured is by taping the camera slightly tilted to the left. Also, the camera would beep... a lot. The manual doesn't say what the beeps mean so I don't know if it's alerting me that there's a cop nearby or what. It is also very sensitive to road bumps and any tiny bumps. It would record them as incidents so make sure to lower down the settings on the sensitivity of that. Last but not least, the wiring. I think I thought that it comes with a chargeable battery like how a regular camera would have but I have this long wire connected to the camera and just hangs in the middle and connects to one of those circle places in the car. I don't have time to be taping the wires on the side of my car. I bought the rear view camera and I have not connected it yet but I'm just imagining it already... My car would have all these wires hanging in the middle of everything. Hey, but at least it's recording if we get into an accident so that's something right? I like that it loops and deletes the old recordings and I also like the GPS and how if you watch the videos on your computer that it would show the MPH and GPS.

Great camera would recommend to a friend quality picture more than enough wire only one complaint is the camera mount would like a 360 positioning Mount.

I purchased the Thinkware - X500 High-Definition Dash Camera - Black/Silver Thinkware - X500 High-Definition Dash Camera after reading the reviews. It was easy to setup and right out of the box. If you want an easy Dash Cam this is it.

Item is great for recording long distance travels. Need to look at manual- it beeps frequently for various alerts. Sometimes it's distracting while driving. Also wish the suction holder allowed the camera to be turned left to right instead of just up & down while attached to the windshield.

As far as dash cameras go... this is a good choice. It's basically plug and play. Installation with the 12v adapter is simple. Functionality is everything you may need. GPS, G-Sensor, etc. Picture quality could be better, but if you find this for a good price, then it's a good deal compared to the cameras pushing $300+. Add the rear camera to make it a complete system.

Picture quality is very good, I would recommend someone don't care about the size and the price.

Bought the hardwire kit so it turns on when I turn the car on and goes into parking mode when the car is turned off. Had to adjust the sensitivity settings as bumps and potholes were making it go off constantly. Not really an issue but was kind of annoying sometimes. The only other thing for me is in parking mode it always goes off when I shut the door, but again it is a minor hindrance to me. Other than that the quality is amazing and I am so happy with my purchase. I also bought the rear-view camera that goes along with it. All together an amazing set and can save you in the case of an accident.

The camera is great for the road. The image is clear and I can store and review my recordings really easy

Great camera, good video quality, easy to set up, with lots of features.

This is an awesome device, it's a lane guidance, warns you when your too close to the vehicle ahead of you or someone cuts in front without you noticing, GPS, and auto format the SD card. To get the best it has to offer, I'd recommend to install with car adopter kit.

It has good quality video but i didn't like that it records in 1 min intervals. When you go to watch the video, its not one complete movie. Its kinda annoying but its whatever.

The video is 1080p but it isn't as crisp as you would expect in this day and age. But I like the design and the durability of it. I would only say that you better be sure of the location on the windshield you put the attachment on because it is permanent.

I wish it were easier to remove the unit from the mount. It keeps advising to frequently reformat the memory card for best quality. It does not say how to format the memory card. I'm glad I finally got one.

The price is right and the product. It would be nice the camera to be black only. The updates make this camera a +

I like it but I want the rear view camera that's made for it and you don't have it and don't know where to find one
