It has Frances McDormand in it! Need I say more?! The rest of the cast was outstanding. The best movie, by far, I saw in 2017!

The movie came quick but the movie arrived damaged. The shipping package and shrink wrap was fine but the paper on the blu-ray case was ripped bad.

Great portrait of small town America

My favorite film of 2008 was “In Bruges”, the directing debut of Irish playwright Martin McDonagh, and now McDonagh furthers his art with his third film, “Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri”, a sort of dark comic crime film that is really a complex character study of a disgruntled mother upset at a town’s failure to solve the murder of her teenage daughter to the point she rents three billboards outside the town to call attention to the unsolved murder. Frances McDormand plays the grieving divorced mother, Mildred Hayes, in a performance that might even surpass her Oscar-winning role in the Coen Brothers’ 1996 “Fargo”. She’s cynical, angry at the core, street-smart while flawed, and her inner journey is rightly the film’s main focus. But she isn’t the only character sketch that fascinates in this film. Two other characters display important moral arcs: the town sheriff Chief Willoughby (Woody Harrelson, surprisingly the most likeable) and, most significantly, Officer Dixon (a career best performance by Sam Rockwell that seems the film’s most memorable). The movie’s brilliant wit and marvelous interactive dialogue is matched by McDonagh’s handling of the actors and control of the visual style, while keeping the humanity of the characters at the forefront as he deftly manages to circumvent the clichés always found in these kind of movies. Highly recommended as a remarkably composed portrait of small town America, it sends viewers out of the theater to contemplate moral questions concerning justice, revenge, anger and forgiveness.

THREE BILLBOARDS....

Francis McDormand plays a mother fed-up with a small town police office that has been less than diligent trying to solve the death of her daughter seven months in the past.
Woody Harrelson is the police chief trying to make sense of a bunch of misfit employees; one of these eventually "rights' himself to eventually come to the aid of Francis McDormand's character.
Francis gets the balls rolling bankrolling three billboards to goad the sheriff into action even though he is fighting his own battle with life.

Stunning movie, buy the 1080p version

No complaints at all with the movie. Acting, directing, story line, and emotions conveyed in the movie are tremendous. Being said, buy the 1080p version. There is basically no Atmos (being it is a Drama, I was not expecting anything special), and HDR usage is very minimal. Would definitely buy the movie again, but would purchase the 1080p version.

I bought the bluray which just like dvd's are soon no longer going to be made due to streaming but wanted this movie badly. As for the movie I loved every character and the acting was incredible. I became obsessed with this movie and have watched it at least 5 or 6 times and am pretty sure I have a few more left. Catch it if you can, it's worth it.

Francis McDormand won an Oscar for playing a woman in small-town America who's daughter was murdered. It's a story about loss, and the attempt to get justice by posting controversial messages on three billboards. Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell round out the cast, and who's performances are right up there with McDormand's.
A must see!

From top to bottom, the performances in this movie are outstanding. Francis McDormand, Woody Harrelson, and Sam Rockwell are arguably at their best in this movie. Even if you're not a fan of this type of "dark" drama, this movie is highly engaging and even has a few comedic spots that lighten the mood briefly.

For those of a particular political persuasion and specific tolerance for stories littered with few, if any, truly sympathetic characters, this film delivers a well-played script, shocks galore, and yet another classic score by Carter Burwell. If you like the Coen Brothers oeuvre, check this out.

This was one of my favorite films to come out of last year. The characters are superbly developed and constantly leave you guessing as to their next moves. The story flows without ever reaching a lull in the tension or drama. Not for the faint of heart. Great cast!

This movie caught my eye during Oscar's last year as being something interesting & different. It did live up to expectations. Very few stories can be told now at days without being predictable. This movie falls away from that norm. A must see & must watch.

From a visual perspective the 4K is crisp and sharp with excellent detail. The movie has solid acting with all the usual quirkiness associated with movies starring Frances McDormand.

This movie blends elements of the dry humor of Wes Anderson into a serious story. It was a very great surprise of a movie as I didn't know what to expect going into it.
