I am a fan of Ancient History, especially Ancient China, it fascinates me to no end to hear how such a nation went to war with itself many many times and each incarnation moved them up the ladder of prominence and cultural noteriety. So it was with eagerness that I found a title fitting into the era I appreciated Three Kingdoms is a Hong Kong made movie, have no doubt that this is one of the most prominantly produced movie and tv genre in the regions of all China but sometimes it can be a bit putting off when brought to American audiences. The Three Kingdom perood pits Shu, Wu, and Wei. three different kingdoms established at the fall of the Great Han dynasty, and for nearly a hundred years played out as a strategic game of Chess each warlord marshaled forces that paled in comparison to the next as they struggled for power. This movie does an adequate job in telling a story but doesn't live up to the majesty of John Woo's Red Cliff.
