The Tidal HiFi is surprisingly fantastic for audio quality. The master quality is very nice and deliver crisp, high quality audio that is pleasant to listen to using high end audio systems/speakers. The discovery feature, Tidal is my new go to for music streaming! To get the most out of this service, the quality of your system must match the quality of the content, right!

Absolutely could not get it to work with my Microsoft Surface Pro 7. Installed fine on my cell phone but NOT my surface. The whole point of getting Tidal was high resolution for my DAC on my stereo system. Don't want to use phone. Spotify had no problem with my surface.

For 3 months free this was great value and I used as soon as my Spotify expired. The sounds itself is superior to that of Spotify/others but the usability of the app is not. It doesn't register as a default music player on iphone, and in addition it's not as user friendly. For the high price I would not buy for free for 3 months it's worth taking a flyer on this.

The sound is good. The app is fine. But you're propping up MQA by paying for this, and that is a huge detriment to the music industry. MQA isn't an actual guarantee of "master quality". In fact it's a lossy compression algorithm that takes proprietary hardware and software and to decode, which manufacturers of equipment have to pay licensing fees for. Then there are fees attached to the mastering process and equipment. And all sorts of other places, so they basically are taxing music at every step along the way, while acting as defacto DRM, despite their claims that there is no DRM. All the while FLAC is lossless and open source, and some competitors offer less expensive streaming of FLAC that requires no special hardware to play back, no licensing fees, no DRM, and works on almost every operating system as well. Don't pay for MQA by not paying for Tidal.

I got this as a trial for 90 days. I my thought are very positive regarding the quality the music and extensive library of content and ease of use and setup. Although, I decided to not continue the service as I’m already setup with Amazon which is included with my Prime membership.

a bit pricey, and without the proper equipment to enjoy the full function of this app. It is not worth keeping around. But with that the sound is amazing and there are subtle differences int he music when revisiting some old classics. They do offer a veteran discount.

When it comes to audio quality, Tidal wins hands down over Spotify and Apple music, in my opinion. The ability to output MQA to a dedicated DAC that supports that format is a great touch and a testament to how much they value sound quality. However where Spotify shines is its great music discovery and automatic playlist creation. Tidal just isn't up to the task in this area. Also Tidal needs a filtering process to showcase new artists within your preferred genres. Tidal being owned by Jay-z is front loaded with hip hop content and its tiresome to wade through it all to get what you are looking for.

The Tidal HiFi is surprisingly fantastic for audio quality. The master quality is very nice and deliver crisp, high quality audio that is pleasant to listen to using high end audio systems/speakers. The discovery feature, however, isn’t as versatile as Spotify. Wish their subscription was a bit cheaper though. It is a bit steep and not everyone will appreciate it if you are indifferent to the quality and happy with Spotify’s sound quality. Apple Music quality lies in between Spotify and Tidal.

Best sounding online music service out there. Listening to Hi-Fi and Master Quality Audio tracks is just like listening to a CD. They also have a good selecting of electronic music. The lossless audio plan is pretty pricey so just be aware of that.

Although my music collection has grown massively in the download age, I have come to prefer buying hard copies and having a digital version in tow. My biggest concern is that artists don't get paid much for their contributions to the rotation. Not sure what Tidal pays, but Spotify only pays $0.006 (not a typo) per song play. When I'm at the gym, I have endure the most corporate dreck over and over and over and over again. I assure you: Journey and AC/DC don't need royalties - besides, I can't stand either of them. But I digress.... In summary, I say thanks-but-no-thanks for this free subscription. I own 2,035 albums.

To start off, I am a musician and I care about my audio quality a lot. That being said, after trying this service, while it is good, the quality isn’t SO much better as to warrant the $19.99/ month price tag. If you’re an extreme audiophile who can’t live without the absolute BEST quality sound, the smallest increase in sound quality matters and money isn’t an issue, then this service is for you. But if you’re anything less than obsessive, then I don’t believe that this service is worth it. Worth the free trial though!

Tidal is my new go to for music streaming! To get the most out of this service, the quality of your system must match the quality of the content - the master quality tracks sound incredible through my Martin Logan system! It isn't cheap for the top tier subscription, so if you dint have a high end system, stick with the base tier. I have not yet decided if I will spend the money once my trial ends - but if it's in your budget, and you have speakers that will do justice to the quality, you will not be disappointed!

I've been using Tidal for quite some time now and have come away impressed, the audio quality is unlike other options such as Spotify and their web and mobile app interface is always a pleasure to use. While the audio quality is great, the usability of some aspects of the UI and interface and overall reliability aren't quite on par with that of Spotify however. I've had the occasional errors and crashes while using their mac desktop app, something I've never had issues with using Spotify. Overall however my Tidal experience has been fantastic!

In comparison to other music services, I feel Tidal is a notch above. The interface feels familiar and the song selection is fine as well. But what separates Tidal from the others is the quality of the audion. Clean sound!

With great headphones, you can hear the sound quality difference in their M (master) mode. Great music selection, but twice as expensive as Apple Music, $240 annually a little high for my budget.
