Putting isn't flawed, it's just VERY VERY HARD

Obviously, a game like Tiger Woods is perfect for the Wii and after not being able to get the version last year, I jumped when 11 came out. I read through a lot of buyer reviews before I get a game and I did the same for this game. I read through one of the posts here and almost didn't buy this game because the bad experience with the putting that the other reviewer had. Then my love for the brand kicked in, and I decided to take my chances. After playing through a few of the beginning courses, I thought that I had made a mistake. I started to think that maybe the other person was right and that the putting was flawed.
However after really paying attention to my body and how I was moving the remote, I realized that the game be very responsive to make the gaming experience be as real as possible. You have to be aware of every aspect of your swing - the backstroke, the follow through, and even the rotation of the remote. and it's not just the direction but also the speed and the power of the swing. It really does a good job of mimicking real golf (at least in my opinion).
Also, that's on the hard setting. There are many settings that aren't as "real" for more novice players or those that don't really care about having the real golf experience. It definitely takes practice and patience. On my first round of the career course I shot a +12 for the round. After about 5 or so rounds I'm shooting about +2 or so.
All-in-all I highly recommend this to anyone who plays golf for real, is an experienced Tiger Woods player, or is willing to put the time in to really understand how to play. If you want to stick it in and be the best golfer on tour, this night not be for you.

Tiger Woods 11 is in one word "FANTASTIC". If you want to get the most out of the game, go through the tutorial. Once you do that and learn all the ins and outs it simply a blast. Best video golf game to come out in a long time. I've told several of my golf buddies the same thing. Two of them went out and purchased the game after we played it. Great game. Get it now before it flys off the shelves.

I got Tiger Woods for the Wii for Christmas. I spent all day playing until the point when my back started to hurt. This game is very realistic, especially with a 65" TV. They did a very good job with the sensitivity of the controller.
Other reviews complained about putting being inconsistent, I found the game to be a wonderful substitute in the winter. If your putting is inconsistent then you might want to watch what your doing wrong.
It is a little difficult getting used to. Once you stop treating it like a game and focus on your swing the game is a blast.

So I had played the 2008 game and thought that the new 2011 would be just as fun.....I was way wrong!! The graphics and the announcers are good but as far as playing the game....it sucks!! The long shots are never consistent....and the worst part is the putting. If you are used to the previous putting style of any of the other games you better forget about it. With this game they do not reward you for trying to learn how to put. 10 identical swings in a row will result in 10 different putting outcomes. One swing the ball will go 3 inches....the next is soars past the whole by 20 feet. Honestly I used to love the TW golf games but this one was is so inconsistent and frustrating the I actually played it about 20 times thinking that the more practice the better I would get....in the middle of missing 3 putts that were inside 3 feet (all 3 were missed in a row on the same hole) I shut the game off and took it to trade it in. I enjoy games that are fun and that reward a person for getting better at a game. I hope that the 2012 goes back to the regular putting style so that maybe it will be fun again. I have never been more disappointed in a video game ever in my life!!

As far as being realistic standing over a ball and trying to play it is you would a typical golf swing, forget about it. This game could be played while sitting in a chair which entirely took away all the fun.
