Easy TiVo streamer for another room
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a TiVo HD (3rd Gen TiVo) finally quit. I already had two 2 TiVo Bolts in my system. I didn't realize I could create a MOCA network thru the coax cable with the Bolt. The Mini requires the MOCA network for streaming. Easy to set up the MOCA network in settings on the Bolt. The TiVo Mini saw the network immediately after hooking everything up. I did downgrade the software on the Mini to the TiVo software on my Bolt as I prefer that menu system to the newer generation TiVo experience - that took a couple of minutes, but has worked flawlessly.

Solid technology
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 7 TiVo-Mini Vox' and been using some of them for a couple of years. They are used in conjunction with a Tivo Vox or other compatible Tivo boxes. They support 4K /UHD video with many streaming services. I use Netflix and Prime Video with no issues. I connect to Verizon Fios with a Verizon provided cable card in my Tivo Vox. I have full cable access to all of TiVo-Mini Vox',. They connect to Tivo Vox via an Ethernet connection or an existing coax connection installed in many rooms USING built in MOCA in the Tivo Vox. I only pay $5 for the cable card to Verizon and a monthly fee for Tivo Vox but no monthly fee for the TiVo-Mini Vox'.

great expansion of Tivo to other rooms
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.excellent product, easy to use, voice works great, makes finding shows a breeze. I'm going to save a ton of money on cable box rentals, this makes cable box in extra rooms totally unnecessary

Tivo remote tv controller
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an original Tivo Bolt hooked to this. My house is wired with Gigabit ethernet. Those are really required. If you have that, works great. I did not give it 5 stars since every once in a while you have to power cycle it. They just hang every few weeks. Typical SW problems. Other than that they work great. Saves on my cable charges. I've had Tivo for 5+ years and works fine.

Great for second room viewing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for second room viewing using a TiVo. The only downside is that if the main TiVo box is using all of the tuners to record shows, you can’t stop it from the Vox, you must go to the main TiVo and stop one of the things from recording. One other helpful hint: It says that it requires a hard wire to the router. Our older TiVo had a WiFi adapter and we just used that (since the new TiVo box has WiFi built in). It plugs into the Ethernet port on the Vox and connects via WiFi. They may not sell those, but you can purchase WiFi adapters elsewhere and it seems to work just as well.

Great extension to a Tivo home setup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the same answer to many people: this is not a stand-alone product; you need a bolt or similar to use it. You also need a wired ethernet (or Moca or Wireless adapter) to transfer content from the main Tivo box to this box. This model has a 4K picture and 1080p on shows transferred from the main tivo box and it does show. I tried the regular Tivo Mini with a 4K projector and love the upgrade from the picture quality with this model. Tivo announced an app (again, for release in 2019) but still nothing for Roku, Apple TV or Fire TV (review written in December 2019).

Way cool extension for your Bolt
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Added this to my Bolt 6 tuner to have a mini tivo in the bedroom! She can watch her cooking programs and I can watch anything live or recorded in the bedroom. Also, you can add the mini wirelessly if you also purchase the USB wireless adapter from Tivo, however it takes a bit of patience to get it set up, but once up and running it works very well. Otherwise you need an Ethernet connection for the Tivo mini to connect to your bolt (or roamio perhaps). And, there is no additional subscription fee for your mini.

Works great!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to go along with a Tivo Bolt OTA and it works seemlessly. Had trouble connecting it initially, but after a call to Tivo, I was good to go. I have the main Bolt unit in the family room and this Mini Bolt in a bedroom connected through ethernet. It gives me access to everything on the Bolt unit except the OTA tuner menus. I haven't tried it with any of the streaming services because I already use a Roku for those. It's mainly for my OTA show recordings. I cut the cord and am now saving over $140 a month on my tv bill!!

TiVo Mini VOX Rocks
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a big TiVo fan already, but these little guys are far superior to the orginal version in responsiveness and boot time. Connecting over Moca or Ethernet is pretty easy. I've noticed needing to run an update and reboot on my Master TiVo box after I've activated it, then needing to likely go through a connection to the TiVo server and reboot on the Mini before it sees it for becoming a slave. Other than this, mostly for Moca connection setup, it's been very reliable and the 4K looks great.

I should've done this years ago
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is the best! We've used TiVos for years and when one finally died, I was torn between getting a new one or going with the Mini. It streams better than using two TiVos. It uses one of the tuners from your TiVo Premier or Bolt for live TV. You will need to use a MoCa adapter to stream which is an extra expense but it's an easy install if you already had cable coming into the TV. The VOX feature requires the new TiVo format which my family hasn't switched to yet so I'm not sure how well that works.

Best TiVo Mini yet!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have three other TiVo Minis to go along with our TiVo Bolt, but needed one for our basement workout area that could stream apps (Netflix, Amazon Prime) properly without locking up. This new version works perfectly! Fast, efficient, 4K, well laid out. Won't use the VOX much, but all of the other features work beautifully. Will gradually replace all of our other Minis.

New interface, but seems stable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Tivo. I mean REALLY love Tivo, so it's hard for me to say anything bad about their products. I was disappointed that two of the Mini v2 boxes I had went kaput at the same time. So I sprung for the new model and have thoughts. First, it takes some time to get used to the new interface. I also had to choose to either update my Bolt and Roamio boxes to the new interface, or else put the new Mini into some kind of degraded mode. I went to each box individually and updated them. I'm not saying the new interface is bad. It's neither better nor worse. Just different. 1) The network connection seems more stable in this box than with the v2. I'm using MoCA. 2) I like the new "autoplay next episode" feature. This should have always existed. 3) I don't like the degraded sort options for episodes inside the folder. 4) I don't like that when I press play on a folder it opens Hulu instead of just playing the recordings already inside the folder. I'll add more if I think of anything, or make any additional discoveries.

TiVo Vox working with Bolt

The Mini Finally Catches Up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The old TiVo Mini was getting a bit long in the tooth - Plex only worked at 720p, was a bit slow, etc. The new Mini Vox updates the hardware by quite a bit (Plex now does 1080!) and supports the great voice features as well.

Great addition to TiVo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Use this to add a second TV to my cable setup in the house. I have it connected to a WiFi satellite via an Ethernet cable, and the streaming works great. This will save on the fees for a second cable box, so it should pay for itself in less than 2 years. Pleased overall. Minus one star for how complex the TiVo interface has become in the last few years. It does a lot more, but it takes far too many clicks just to play something that you’ve recorded.

Only way to get 1080P TV on Tivo Mini
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this because the previous iterations of the Tivo Mini did not support full 1080P TV when streaming from our primary TiVo. The picture improvement is noticeable on this device (especially with sports) so I'm pretty happy with it. It did force us to upgrade to the new TiVo experience UI release, which is still a little clunky but we had no choice. A little pricey but really the only option...

Excellent device for multi-room TiVo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't sure how well this device would work when I bought it, but I am glad that I did. I have the Roamio OTA, and this works flawlessly to extend the DVR to another room in the house.

Mini VOX works as described
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first unit I bought did not work. I contacted Tivo and was told that this was a known issue and to return to Best Buy and exchange for a new one. I did as instructed and second one worked with no problem. I was surprised that Tivo handles this issue by having product returned and exchanged. I have seen many others with same issue. Once everything was set up, the unit works fine and as advertised.
