Fun follow up movie to the first live action Michael Bay TMNT film. I like where they were going with the villain storyline, but unfortunately we won't see this movie line continue as they did not do as well critically as the makers had aimed for. Still a fun watch to go through the 2 movies in this line.

For the movie itself....its great fun and total fan service and much better than the first. For the Blu-ray, i had a really hard decision to either buy this in 3-D or 4k UltraHD (why cant more companies be like Sony and release a combo package of 3D and 4K?) and obviously i chose the 3-D version. This movie is so much fun in 3-D and coupled with the amazing Dolby Atmos soundtrack, i never stopped smiling during this movie. For fans of 3-D and Dolby Atmos, this is a reference disc for you to show off to your friends. Have Fun :-)

I felt that this was a good movie. It gives you a better understanding of each character. I was never into the cartoons back in the day, or the games, and if there was any comic books for them, I was never into them either, but there was a CG show that came on that I briefly watched, that I liked. ...As for this movie, I did feel that Casey Jones character was different from the way that I knew him in that show I used to watch. It was an interesting take on that character. ...I did really like the movie, but the end felt a little anticlimactic to me. ...But would I watch it again? Yeah I would, because it was full on exciting and action packed. Plus, Mikey made it funny.

I enjoyed the first one, so when it was on sale at Best Buy for $9.99, I bought it. And I'm glad that I did. I think that it looked very good, and was very satisfied with the 3D. I mean what better way to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bounding about!
You get a 3D, 2D and DVD version. I believe that Atmos is available on both of the Blu-rays. The extras come on the standard version, which included deleted scenes, some behind the scenes stuff. Also, you have your choice of HD streaming or download from Itunes or Ultraviolet.
If your into 3D you should enjoy this for $9.99.

A Far Better Film than the 2014 Re-boot

From the opening cityscape shot of New York City accompanied by Steve Jablonsky's pulsing score new director Dave Green (Earth to Echo) establishes a fresh, but familiar tone with this sequel to 2014's "surprisingly" successful reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle live action series. With Michael Bay producing, a hired hand director, and a string of production issues it is something of a wonder that first film came off as well as it did. In more or less accomplishing what it intended to be for the audience it intended to target Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles qualified as a success. And if that opinion is to be shared it is also highly likely one would agree with the fact this sequel, subtitled Out of the Shadows, is even more successful in its end goals as the story is more coherent, the characters more in tune with their distinctive personalities, and the whole affair in general being a lot more fun. That isn't to say Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is a great film as it certainly has no aspirations to be groundbreaking and seems to only hope to fall in line with the rules rather than to be an exception, but in doing little more than fully embracing its source material in the most cartoony and goofy of ways it gets so many things right it parlays itself into a pleasantly entertaining time at the movies. It would be easy to pick apart a film such as this for the gaps in logic, the idea that Megan Fox's April O'Neil could so easily break into as high profile a lab as Dr. Baxter Stockman's (Tyler Perry), or that Hollywood should be ashamed of itself for wasting the talent of actors like Laura Linney in this type of disposable entertainment, but what would be the point? TMNT has been around long enough at this point that there is some respect due to the series for being as endearing as it has continued to be. The fact that it centers around four genetically mutated reptiles who listen to a giant rat and have a sexy news reporter and a guy with a hockey mask on their team is easy ammo if one cares to criticize such openly ridiculous material, but that Green and screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec choose to embrace such absurdities rather than attempt to play them down (ahem...Fantastic Four) makes it easier for the audience to do the same.

I didnt enjoy this as much as I was hoping. We have waited so long for characters like Beebop and Rocksteady to be brought to the big screen but something wasnt quite right. The characters of Beebop and Rocksteady were great they looked awesome and acted like you would expect, but Krang was not as good...they probably should have waited til the next movie to include Krang he kinda feels like an afterthought in this one. He looks awesome but he only shows up at the beginning and at the end...Shredder looked great too but he really didnt feel present most of the time...the turtles were great once again...casey jones was kind of a let down too...

What can I say, this is a Michael Bay film. Not to discredit him as the visionary that he his, his films are known for their visual fidelity. "TMNT Out of the Shadows" is no different.
With that being said, there is not a lot of content available today that justifies a 4K screen or bluray player, this film absolutely does. It was produced, converted, and distributed with 4K in mind. Absolutely no one, whether a fan of Michael Bay or not, can deny how beautiful this film looks on 4K displays. The colors pop while the sharpness and level of detail will keep your eyes in awe throughout the whole movie. If you are looking for an experience to either test or justify your 4K compatible equipment, then this is a must buy for you.

To be honest I don't know where to start with this movie. I enjoyed part 1 and this one was just as good if not better. Aside from the comedy and great story line which continue to evolve I think what I liked the most was the action and characters. The bond between the turtle brothers has grown. Every family has struggles as well as ups and downs but that didn't break up this butt kicking team. It added to the movie in a good way. Speaking of adding to it I'd say they did an excellent job with how they brought in the new as well. This is the first time they were used in a film and I can't wait to see what they do and use for part 3. This is definitely a movie I highly recommend for TMNT fans and as a great family movie.

I grew up on them turtles. and to see Michael Bays work is to real to believe. I’ve actually got so immersed in Michael bay’s vision of ninja turtles. That I revisit the movie at least every couple of months. Is goofy, yes ! and it’s a lill bit crazy. Ok. But the concept. From noir coming books, to color comic books and many variations of Cartoons to a movie. It’s an evolution of cinematic genius.

Picking up sometime after the events of the 2014 reboot, the Turtles are back and kicking some major shell. Megan Fox is also back as fearless reporter April O'Neil and is still quite the looker as she always is. Shredder is also back, recast with a better actor. However he's not the only one the Turtles are up against as they contend with new baddies; the alien conqueror Krang and the two classic bumbling subordinates Beebop and Rocksteady! This TMNT movie is true to the classic 80's cartoon, much more humorous and more suitable for the kiddies, as compared to the previous film, and is recommended to all fans of this Teenage Mutant Ninja...GREEN GUYS! COWABUNGA DUDES!

I would've given this 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack 5 stars if it had come with a lenticular slipcover, like the last film's 3D Combo did. Of course the slipcover is still cool, and the combo pack is as good as expected. If you enjoy this movie, or even if you haven't seen it and you enjoy the first film, I would recommend picking this up.
Unfortunately I still don't have a 3D capable TV or Projector (not yet anyways), so I can't comment on the 3D, but the movie looks amazing on standard Blu-ray, so I am looking forward to watching it in 3D when I finally get a 3D projector!

I really enjoyed the first of the new TMNT films and enjoyed this one almost as much. I'm an Arrow fan, so I was glad to see Stephen Amell in the film. Megan Fox seems to play a smaller role this time. There's a ton of CG in this film, obviously, but I think it's well done. Beebop and Rocksteady as well as Krang all look good and bring back a lot memories from when I was a kid. This is a good movie for what it is. Suspend your disbelief and your inner movie critic for an hour-and-a-half and just let yourself have fun. I think you'll have a good time doing so.

TMNT Out of the Shadows - think of this as pushing aside the garbage of the first film - in particular, Foot Clan members toting guns, a Shreader that was tacked on to the story, and little screen time for the turtles. They took those criticisms into account with this one. Feels more like the 80's/90's TV series especially with the addition of Beebop, Rocksteady, and Krang. WAY more screen time for the turtles to the point where Megan Fox's April seems like a distraction rather than a complement to the main action. Total must see.

This movie is not bad, thought I was going to get more with Steven Amell, but sequels are never as good as the originals. There are some exceptions though

The movie is not as great as you would hope but Stephen Amell (Star of The Arrow) makes up some of the short comings. The pros are that it comes with the 3D BR, BD, DVD and Digital Copy, the Cons are that you get bonuses with just about every other cheaper version (non 3D), like steelcase, or a special box or packaging, it comes in a plain blue plastic case which is poor, for this money you should get the steelcase which would bump the movie into the 4.5 to 5.0 star level but it is still a fair movie, nothing Great.

Nothing spectacular but with good special effects and some popular actors, like Stephen Amell from "The Arrow", you can bet you will get your 3D money's worth. It's a good reboot of the original with some new twists because it is after all more of a sequel than a remake so it helps it you have seen the first one but if you haven't it ok as well because they throw in a fair amount of flashbacks and dialog to explain the story. Great 3D, i just wish they would have included a steelcase with it for the money.

So... I love the Ninja Turtles, and I really did enjoy the first one (the first remake). The only turn off to this movie was they made it seem like it was straight out of the cartoon universe instead of keeping it slightly realistic like the original turtle movies from the 90's. I do understand I'm an adult talking about a kids movie... I think mostly I didn't like the turtle van scene. Other than that, I enjoyed Krang and everything else about the movie! Just enjoy the turtles with your kids!
