Customers admire the game's potential but express concerns regarding the gameplay. Several players found the gameplay repetitive, citing issues with limited move variety and predictable counters. The storyline's requirement for player creation and the difficulty escaping pins were also criticized. Improvements to gameplay mechanics and storyline engagement are suggested.

I LOVE THIS GAME I GOT AN ADVANCE COPY FOR MY PS3 AND THIS GAME TRULY ROCKS.YOU REALLY FEEL LIKE YOU ARE IN THE ACTION YOURSELF. THE MOVES ARE SO EASY TO DO THEY ARE SO FLUID. THIS COMPLETELY BEATS SM VS RAW 2008 BUT WWE IS THE BETTER COMPANY. IF THE REAL TNA WAS ANYTHING LIKE THE GAME THEY WOULD CRUSH THE WWE. BUT ITS NOT SO IM SURE IN NOVEMBER I'LL BE PURCHASING SM VS RAW 2009.
BUY THIS GAME OR YOU ARE LAME

THIS GAME IS NOT VERY GOOD THE STORY LINE YOU HAVE TO MAKE UP A PLAYER (CANT USE STING OR ANYONE ELSE)THE PLAYER IS WEAK AND CAN NOT DO A FINNISHER TILL YOU GET SO MANY POINTS TO UNLOCK THE FINNISHER----OR ANY OTHER MOVES LIKE A CHOP AND CLOTHSLINES YOU CAN BEAT UP THE AI PLAYER RED IN THE CHEST BUT YOU BETTER HAVE HIM RED IN 3 OR 4 SPOTS TO EVEN TRY TO PIN HIM------BUT IF THEY HIT YOU WITH A FINNISHER ITS OVER NO MATTER HOW MUCH LIFE YOU HAVE LEFT ----------THE SvR IS SO MUCH BETTER SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SvR 2009

Not Bad for a first effort

Overall, the game is fun to play and is basically pretty good. It reminds me alot of the original Smackdown vs Raw series for PS2.
I little glitchy in some collision detection, but not as bad as SvR 2007 & 2008. Single Button controls for reversals can be a hinderance as you are just as likely to fail reversing as succeed. That said, it is almost impossible to reverse your opponent's special.
I have never been a fan of breakaway 'mini-games' (except in God Of War where they make sense) and many submissions can only be stopped by winning a mini game. SvR got it right and thankfully have never changed it in all of their versions...submissions are controlled by tapping a button on the controller by both the aggressor and the defender.
Again, not bad for a first effort. The next game should be spectacular if Midway listens to input from the fans.

When I first started to play the game it looked like is was going to be great. Graphics were fabulous and at first the gameplay was good. After that it went down hill. If you play against a smaller wrestler they do nothing but counter all of your moves. Also you can't break out of a pin at all and when you get stunned it's pretty tuff to get out of quickly. On the other hand you have to beat the computer character to a pulp for him to be pinned and if you stun them they come out within a couple of seconds. Story mode started out good and quickly went down the drain and got boring. Overall the game is fun to mess around with for the graphics and to see all the TNA stars finishers but after that the game is pretty basic. I would rather play the old N64 Wrestling games than this.

This game sucks, the fighting system is sucks. Nothing happens to the guys when in a long fight I mean once your guy turn red you should slow down or recuperate slower. Your guy never slows down when running. You only have five of six chairs to use during a match. The pinning system sucks having to hit the sticks back and forth fast. The announcers say the same old same. The music is to loud compare to when the movies come up and you can’t hear the people speaking. This game is not good at all.

I was looking into this game but after playing the demo I was not impressed with the game one bit and that sad thing is that they took two years to develop this game and still managed to mess it up. I'm not really a big TNA wrestling fan anyway but I know wrestling games I play them all from the Super Nintendo to the Current Next Gen Consoles. The Major part of making a great wrestling game is its gameplay and storylines and TNA IMPACT has neither one if you are looking for a great wrestling game please don't waste your money on this one just wait one more month for WWE SMACKDOWN VS RAW 2009.

This game really sucks. I bought it the day it came out and I have hated it ever since. I wish that I could take it back but I can't. The controls and game play are just "Bial"! The computer can counter every move you make, and it gets you so upset you almost want to throw the controller through the TV. I can't figure out which sucks worse, the game or the actual show. You start off with like 5 guys to choose from and you have to unlock all the characters you want to play with. Nothing new in the game that hasn't been seen before. And who ever said that you "Feel the Action", HA! I feel like i payed $60 for a game that was fun about 15 years ago. And for the guy wo said, "The wrestlers react and move so realisticly, it's just amazing!" when I see a BIG guy up on the shoulders of a not as big guy, and the BIG guy counters with a spinning face buster or what ever they call it. That is so not realistic. The guy doesn't just move his whole body forward in real life. Not to say that wrestling is anything like real. But still. Some realism please. Can't wait for SVR09. Then I can really have some fun.

I bought this game for my son and he has loved the game ever since. He has not stopped playing it and he keeps getting better! Whenever I watch him play, It looks like I'm watching a real match. The wrestlers react and move so realisticly, it's just amazing!
The things that my son usually complains about is that everyone has pretty much the same exact moves except the finishers. Whan my son's friends come over they don't always want to play this because they say they got it the day it came out and it is boring to them.
I guess my son might get bored of the game too.
All in all my son loves the game and seems to always play it. He can't wait for the sequal to come out.
