This one from Kendrick has a different vibe from his first effort in terms of musical arrangements but there are still many soul pounding basslines to awaken the spirit. The spit fire lyrical flair is still prevelant on the offering

This album grows on you as it is intellectual and thought provoking. K. Lamar spins west coast rap style with intelligence similar to Public Enemy or Talib Kwali. Listen to the words to find depth in the artist's thought process.

the album is not not something you put on during a pool party or even listen to on a road trip. however when u sit down and really get into the raps and how it intertwines to the music it is a beautiful album. i feel good kid maad city is a better album/listen. however kendrick's lyrics/flow/talents shine above all.

Easy listen. Music with a message and substance. Not what you would typically expect of an artist of this day and age. Reminds you of the good ole days when rappers spoke about issues effecting our communities as opposed to girls, cars , riches ,etc. Worthy of his Grammy

Kendrick's newest album is filled with eclectic sounds and an amazing story line that gives the feel of listening to a movie. Songs like King Kunta are good on their own, but when you listen to the album straight through you feel the darkness of what KL has seen in the world.

Album was a great album. Another good composition of work by Kendrick Lamar. I felt that there couldve been a little more breathing room in the album for people to take in all the messages he's putting out, but other than that good album, good lyrics, good production, good engineering, all of that.

This is a great record if you love the sound of the dirty South and turn up every weekend while cruising down the street. Definitely recommend and is guaranteed to fill your night with plenty of energetic bangers. Straight up DOPE!

This Album is what hip hop needs right now. You can let it play from start to end. He is King Kendrick. I can see him being a young black leader in his near future. HE HAS MY VOTE .

I wasn't a Kendrick Lamar fan, but this latest creation of his, is exemplary work. He harnessed his essence and allowed himself to share it in a way that draws you in and has you feeling like a kindred spirit. I hope to see more of this from him. It's slick and flavorful.

I am a big Kendrick Lamaar fan and I really enjoyed his first album to the point of labeling it a classic. This album however did not follow suite and was just good to me. Though I will admit it's growing on me more every time i listen to it...

This CD is a Artistic Gem. Kendrick is a Breath of fresh air in rap music. He displays the hypocrisy in the music industry along with internal and external racism among blacks. This is a classic album you can drive to along with playing again and again in the house.

Such a real and in depth look on what it means to be an African American from the ghetto in today's society. Each song ties together to tell a story. A must have.

Don't expect anything this to be like anything from the last album. This album is different and enlightening, thought provoking, and necessary. It shows a different side of hip hop, some will love it , many won't like it but it is and will always be a great album.

Usually artists have many features but Kendricks album has little to none. I really love the way he utilizes real world problems to express the artistry he has delevoped over time. I can't wait to listen to his next project and many more! Very nice album....

Yet again, Kendrick seems to have an ability to do something rappers now a days can't seem to do, care about the entire process of making an album. The theme and message of this album is full front and the entire thing plays out perfectly. Just listen to it.

I got this cd because the first one was so hot. I can honestly say he stepped up even more on this one. My favorite cut is "alright" and I love the different interludes throughout especially "this ... Ain't free". It has a song for every mood you in.

This album is well structured. The concept is mind blowing when it is finally unveiled. This is not album you just listen to once. You must listen to it multiple times and each time you will catch something you missed the first time. Great work k.dot

To Pimp A Butterfly is a great album. It flows a bit better than good kid, M.A.A.D. city but lacks the same quality of hit singles. The music is very "west coast" and the lyrics are thought provoking. Overall a great effort.
