The First True Next Generation Game

I've been a PC gamer for years, and have always thought tactical shooters just couldn't be pulled off on a console. This game ended that notion. This game "made" the Xbox 360. I had played the PC version of this game, and thought it was somewhat average, bland, but okay. Then, a year later, I was bestowed an Xbox 360, having heard of this game's good reviews, I instantly proceeded to purchase it. The reviews were right, this game belongs on the Xbox just as much as Halo, or Fable. Upon starting the first level, I was thrust into a beautiful, high-definition world, popping with bright oranges, pinks, yellows, and golds, fully bringing the setting of Mexico to life. You could hear car alarms going off in the distance, bullets whizzing far away; the game just felt REAL. And real it was, by being a tactical shooter, realism is key. Aiming is precise, and the weapons feel very authentic. Controlling your squad is also easy and intuitive, so setting them up for an incoming firefight won't be much of a hassle. The only gripe some people may have is the fact that this game is hard, as one or two shots will send you back to the last checkpoint. I don't think that should be a detriment against the game though, as being a tactical shooter, it caters to the more hardcore. For something more accessable, Rainbow Six Vegas would be a better bet, but for someone who wants a rich single player tactical campaign, solid multi-player, and stunning production values, it's Cross-Com on!

    great game

With a fun two player campaign and four player split screen on xbox live, this game is a lot of fun to play alone, but much more fun with friends. Ghost Recon takes precision and tactics which adds a whole layer of strategy and difficulty to the game. Rather than run around shooting like crazy as you can do in the Halo series, Ghost Recon takes careful planning which is fun to do with another person through the campaign. Although the patience level may get tiring after a while if you do not make a lot of progress, killing a bunch of guys is very rewarding. When you get bored of the campaign you can take a break and play up to 16 player games on xbox live. With a lot of different game types and people still playing on live today, while it may be hard to find a perfect game, there will still be a good selection.

    This is a classic!

This review is for those who are maybe getting a 360 and looking for some great games at a value. This is only 29.99 and is worth every penny. The gameplay on the single player campaign is intense and can really put you in the battlefield. Graphics are sharp although not as great as GRAW2, but this game was practically a launch title. If you love military shooters or just an intense realistic game....look no further. There are still many people playing this online also, so multiplayer is also a great experience.

    Too dark!

I really liked the advanced wepons and ability to command vehicles and your team. The graphics are outstanding, but were too dark in some scenes, making play difficult at times. I needed to turn my screen brightness all the way up, just to see what I was doing. But overall, it was fun to play! :)

I just could not get into this game. The controls and movements were a bit sluggish to me. I jumped on the Splinter Cell Double Agent wagon and all is better now. I would recommend if you like this type of game to stick with the splinter cells and rainbow six's.

Compared to Medal of Honor, or HALO from 2009, not as sharp in graphics or capabilites, but for price, a FUN second generation game.

    Good tactical infultration

G.R.A.W. is a really fun game, great co-op (although a little hard at times), great Campaign, and great online play. Everything is tactical so you have to make sure and get things done slowly and surely. Achievements for this game are fair. There is a couple like being number one on the leader board that I don't like. It would be an Achievement to get it though. All in all, I do recommend this game to anyone who enjoys team based tactical infiltration games.

Not at all like the old Ghost Recon.

My review summary says it all. I tolerate the gameplay in hopes of perhaps 'coming round' to appreciate it, but it is so disparaging from the old Ghost Recon I almost can't bear it.

This game is the best. Any other Clancy game is okay compared to this.
