Overall this game is great. I do wish there was a way for you to regenerate health. It really makes you and your friends work together as a team. Other than ubisoft needing to ramp up their servers! The game play is good.
I do not however think the gold edition is worth the extra money. The only thing extra you get is early access to the new maps, bonus renown (averages 2-4 per round), and new characters without spending renowned.

This is a great game for anyone who plays FPS games. Lots of strategy and teamwork involved. No one game is the same. There are server issues which make for problems. Playing with a full 5 person team that communicates is the best way to go. The single player situations missions are difficult but worth playing thru. Playing by yourself online is good but not as much fun as on a full team of friends.

I am not going to make this a long review. My goal is to point out a few notables.
Just coming from COD Black Ops, the game play is much different. Sure its a FPS.. we know how the RS6 series has been... I get that ,but in the first hour of play I struggled with the motion, aiming and just plain orientation with sight up to face etc. I did get used to it and no epileptic seizure where experienced ;)
They need a lot of work on the lobby system. Lots of long waits when you first start up as it tries to connect to RS6 servers. During game play we frequently, sometimes... multiple times a night will get dropped mid game with "can't connect to RS6 server" errors.
I also find the shading/shadowing makes seeing the bad guys difficult in certain situations. Yes I have tried to adjust the video brightness whtie/black balance.. its just another one of those "things" about this game that gives me pause.
Its fun when it works... but it needs some patching to be great. I enjoy COD Black Ops much better, granted it's a different kind of game.

When this game works, it's great. It really makes players work together in the multiplayer arena to win. However, the game suffers from server connection issues here and there, and in some cases it has take more time to connect to a game, than it took to play the few rounds.

I started playing this game in the BETA and loved it. The game is a lot of fun, but there are still some issues that need to be ironed out. Personally, if I had it to do again, I would have gone with the regular version. The extra $30 hasn't gotten me much of anything for getting the gold edition. I am guessing that has a lot to do with some of the issues they are trying to get sorted out.
All in all its a great game and a lot of fun if you like games that involve a lot of teamwork. Make sure you get a microphone if you don't already have one. Makes the game that much better.
I would have given it a 5 star if I had honestly felt the Gold edition had given me something for the extra money other than early access to new operators (1 week).

I'm addicted! This game is not without some needed improvements but it is still countless hours of fun.
There is no real single player, campaign. There are 10 missions which I think are just designed to get you familiar with the game and controls. While also giving you in game currency to unlock characters and weapons attachments.
It has classic terrorist hunt which you can play solo or cooperatively online. The multiplayer mode which is 5 vs 5 live players is the most fun for me. Basically it is attack and defend situations.
Anyways, that's enough. Just get it and play it.

This game is a new level of rainbow six. Lots of fun. Still wish it had a campaign like previous games. This is all multiplayer.

Big fan of all the Tom Clancy games, Rainbow Six Vegas and Vegas 2 consumed countless hours of my time and this is the next game in the segment. Siege definitely has a big concentration on PvP/Multiplayer gaming but not so much on "running and gunning" this is all tactical and team based matches. Situations is a mode where its one player and more of a "Training" set of missions.
overall pretty cool game, is it worth the gold price? don't know yet. i'll stick this one out and see how it goes with the next DLC.

I played this game from Alpha to Beta and now the full game. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this game for HOURS of fun. Keep in mind you will lose track of time while playing. NON-Gold Edition vs Gold Edition really depends of your commitment to the game and its features. Best part of the Gold Edition is the extra renown (in game money) and quick access to the downloadable players.

Rainbow 6 Stands Out

Rainbow 6 Stands out among other games. They've taken away the run and gun and replaced it with cautiousness, communication, and waiting for the right time. It's definitely a relief. My only disappointment is lack of features such as character creation and customization from the previous installments. Overall though, Rainbow 6 delivered an outstanding game.

Best shooter out there

Rainbow Six Siege is the best tactical shooter out there by far. If youre a fan of Call of Duty you wont like this game. This is a tactical shooter which means you have to take it slow and look at every corner. It still has some net code issues that UBISOFT needs to fix but other than that its the most fun ive had playing a video game ever

No split screen support and no real campaign like previous rainbow six games which is very disappointing. Bought the gold edition with season pass so I only hope they add some good stuff to this game. Lack of campaign has me already losing interest in this game. With the division out now I see this game getting forgotten very quickly.

This is game is good for hours upon hours of competitive online play due to multiple game modes, character options, and skill levels. There were some server errors early on that seem to have been worked out. Destructive environments also provide a unique challenge for offense and defense.

This is a great strategy game playing solo or with friends online. It's a tactical FPS game with a team base focus. I wished it had a solo campaign. So far it has my attention & I hope it adds a solid value with the added season pass down the road. A must buy from best buy!!

I was hesitant because i was afraid of multiplayer being too much like cod or other run and gun. No - people do take it slow enough. I REALLY appreciate ranked play and tournament options as these allow serious players to soet themselves out. Looking forward to the seasons!

After waiting for years for a new rainbow game it was a kind of a letdown to only get a multiplayer only experience. The action is intense when played properly and the server issues don't hamper the experience.

This game excels at being a squad vs squad action packed game. The graphics are amazing and it's a blast with friends. Using a mic is essential to win. Team work is a must. The only downside I found was the lack of a single player campaign.
