    Offline good / Online Great!

If you are looking for a different type of first person shooter, this would be a good product to purchase. I was very satisfied with the amount of total control and amount of tactical strategies that you need to use during this game. Online play is fun because you can play typical death match/team death match or play missions with other people online. The addition of this feature makes playing the game much more fun with your friends or with random online gamers! I would recommend this product to people that are looking for a first person shooter with a little more tactical fun, rather than boring missions that you can run through.

Most innovative next-gen real-world shooters yet

Most shooters have a choice, either be realistic and suffer with boring environments/weapons/enemies OR take place in space/future/non-realistic areas and risk realism fans. This game keeps the realism and brings the flash and excitement of a terrorist-filled Vegas. You cannot talk about this game without addressing the setting, which is wonderful without being distracting. The interactivity is great, everything breaks making distractions very possible, it is amazing this is the first game to feature shootouts in a casino, that I can think of. There are other places too, dilapidated streets, offices, "the strip" and a bank-like series of back rooms. The enemies vary a bit from poorly trained thugs to elite terrorist agents, not the variety you'd expect from resistance or half-life, but still better than you would get from other Tom Clancy games. The weapons don't vary that much but are fine, you won't be bothered by it. The only other game with this level of variety on the PS3 is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune which has only one person, not a squad, and there are more puzzle-elements in Uncharted, but it's worth mentioning in case you aren't a fan of Clancy. The only substantive problem you'll find is that there is little random content; the maps don't change, the character AI doesn't change, the weapon location doesn't change, once you figure out how to pass a challenge that method will always work and will probably work in later levels too. If you do get bored, there is a nice online feature, which is well worth a try and offers more variety. The controls are fine, but take a little getting used to, and there is some six-axis usage which is fine. The story is a little silly, but does it's job. I would recommend this to anyone who likes tactical shooters with a variety of environments and enemies, if they don't like online I'd warn them about a lack of replayability.

    Vegas Love

This game is really good all the way around. I have found that it has got a great single player and Co-Op online modes. I have also found that to be the problem, what works for those parts of the game hurt the multiplayer death match, including the lack of balance in the guns and the inability to shoot on target on the go (I know a lot of people will say dont run 'n gun and I am not talking about that, i like the speed of movement it is the in accuracy on the go). I find Death Matches to be more sped up and this games doesnt account for that. My friends and I found the gun fights to be often more about luck than skill, not to say we didn't have fun, we did, but this game's Death Match to me isnt quite there. I am glad there is no jumping in this game because soldiers dont dodge gun fire by jumping around the battlefield, so yeah that's nice. Maybe I play too much SOCOM.

    Great story, gameplay, graphics

I really enjoyed this game. It was my first interactive team strategy game (as in: you control the actions of a few characters, in the role of the leader). I had played COD4 prior to this, and was blown away by the intensity, story, acting, graphics. But that game, while awesome, was a little short. RS:Vegas was different. You had intense action, but also had to sneak around a bit. The story was well done, with plot twists and a logical flow; the voice acting was professional; you could even hear, through the doors, the terrorists having conversations (in English and at times in Spanish) about things like "when this is all over I'll get you set up in another job." The story was much longer than COD4, and epic compared to the disappointing Ghost Recon 2. And the replayability was great, with the ability to do "terrorist hunt" scenarios through many stages, some of which were not part of the story. You even get to go through these extras as alternative characters. I have not tried multiplayer so can't comment. This game has a co-op option I'm eager to play, but I haven't had anyone over who wants to try. I really enjoyed this, and it was worth purchasing, since I will continue to play it in its many components.

    Alot of Fun

Rainbow Six Vegas (a.k.a Vegas) is a great game. Not only is the shooting style and controller layolut great, but the graphics are really good to. I am about done with Vegas right now and I know that after I beat it I am going to play it again. Another benefit of the game is the realistic mode. This mode is definatly for more advanced players, but it is still fun to ocasionally just mess around on to see how well you'll do. Something I found out about recently was the instant action section of the game. In here, you can set up maps outside of the Carear mode and just play against the game. It is really quite fun. I would recomend this game for anybody who likes stealth/ swat style fighting in a Las Vegas/ Mexico setting. But this game really is good.

    Multiplayer Makes it worth

Rainbow Six Vegas offers both a single-player and multiplayer experience. The single player game can be played on a normal difficulty as well as hardcore, and the game's length is not extremely long, and somewhat repetitive. However the strength lies in the online multiplayer. Players are able to compete in a wide variety of games, and advance in rank which allows them access to additional weapons and accessories (armor, clothing etc.). The online system is somewhat flawed however they are working on a patch. If you like to play online, this is a nice change of pace to Resistance, as there is more strategy and not as much run-n-gun. I recommend the game though, and I've been happy with my purchase.

    realistic shooting

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The game has real life weapons that a special force would use, giving a sense of realism. Also, the graphics and storyline are great. However, actual game play is a bit short, and the game ends in a cliffhanger. But, this is where the online feature makes up for it. There are many types of play such as death match, and terrorist hunt. As you play more online, you'll gain enough experience to advance through the ranks, unlocking new gears. Only complaint would be the AI because at some point, they tend to clump together and come towards you with no tactics, making it easy kills.

R6V1 isnt as bad as i thought it would be...

i got this game for christmas, and i couldnt wait to play it, i havent gotten that far into the story mode, but so far its great. the one flaw, and the one reason i rated it overall a 4, is because of the online play. i heard from a friend that online play was always attainable on R6V1, but i got into a lobby and it was me and 4 other people, and we couldnt get any more people... im sure if it got active again the online play would be great though.... i would recommend it to a friend, for story mode, rather than online [for obvious reasons, as stated]

This game and Mortal Kombat Vs Dc Universe were my first two games for PS3 and i love them both.but RB6V is addicting but it also gets frustrating because its you and two other teammates against all these freakin terrorists and sometimes the go off and leave hangin by yourself even when you call them back and thats mostly the reason why i die so often. but the graphics are good but they couldve been better but id give them a little slack being one of the first few games that came out but gameplay wise its great

    The best game in years!

This game is by far the best game i have ever played. The game doent have a dull part the whole time. I couldnt believe how realistic it is. I wasnt a big fan of the first-person shooter till i started to play and every every thing was so true. The movement of the characters was so amazing . They actually use real S.W.A.T tactics. Enemies will flank u and outsmart u. Even when u get shot it starts to blur. Showing that ur hurt and u actually die if u get shot a few times. Unlike these other games u can run around and get shot by a rocket launcher and just have a smidge of life taken away. I would put this in the top of ur list. U will not regret it i promise u . And it just went down in price. how can u beat it. Have fun!

    A good challenge

This game is an excellent starter to a great playstation play list if anyone is wondering. The game play is challenging and is worth your time if you can handle taking your time to make a good strategy. Your put into a hostile environment in the middle of Las Vegas where a group of terrorists are definitly up to some bad news. What they are up to becomes somewhat of a mistery as the plot unfolds. A challenge around every coner, have steady aim, and forgoodness sakes, use the snake cam!!!

    Six Vegas

This game is pretty much alike to GRAW 2. It has very good looking graphics, an awesome gameplay. You can command your team, get them to Infiltrate or Assault any area, open doors and clear the zone, frag and clear or flash and clear. You can also use a sneak camera underneath doors to see where enemies are at and even tell your team who to kill first and second, once they open the door. The story is original, levels are a lil bit long but that comes down to about 6 or 7 leves at the most, with frequent checkpoints at every level, you can save your game and quit not worrying about if your game progress is gonna be lost. Along with GRAW 2, this is truly a MUST HAVE for any PS3 owner. Strongly Recommend

    best FPS for PS3

Not being much of a gamer, i've still always enjoyed FPS's, so when buying my PS3, this was the first (and only so far) game that i bought. This was NOT a mistake because this has to be the best FPS i have played in a long time! The graphics can seem to be a bit grainy at times but there is also alot going on during the game with it being in Vegas with all the lights and what not but still very good none the less. You also get free online play with the PS3 which is also pretty fun but i've never played online games before, but am starting to get into it with this game. if you are a fan of the genre, i highly recommend this game, you should have already gotten it! and now its a steal at 39.99!

    improvement to the original

I enjoyed this game, but unlike many fps games you die ridiculously fast, and it lacks check points so you wind up going way back in the mission just to do it all over again. Graphics were below par, reminded me of original rainbow six on my old Nintendo 64. Awesome weapons, with the ability to pick up new ones, the Raging Bull revolver being my favorite. Constant action, good story, and fps on a big screen tv pulls you right into the game.

    Close to Great

This is a great tactical shooter best played with a friend. Your computer controlled teammates aren't always the best support so a live person can help substantially, especially on higher difficulty settings. Visually, the game replicates Vegas to a T, and offers many varied environments. The game is long and challenging on the harder levels and frustration sets in after replaying them over and over.

    Outstanding Game

Ubisoft and Tom Clancey have really aced the transition to next gen systems. Vegas is by far the best shooter, if not the best game, for the PS3. The online play is smooth and fun, second to only Socom. The weapon selection is great, they have a wide variety of maps, and the character customization adds a lot of depth to the game. It has hours of playability and will not get old. Great game, especially for online gaming. Plus, the single player mode is challenging and interesting. The smooth and detailed visuals of this game make it truly next gen.

This game is sweet. I played it over the summer the most, but not so much anymore with cod4 out. Still awesome game. I was looking forward for this game forever, and it certainly lived up to my high expectations. Online is so fun. A lot of maps. Good guns, and different things as you rank up. Graphics are just alright. May be lag problems at times as well. I recommend it.

I have had this game for a month and really love it. It more of a challenge than other games but not impossible. I really like playing the coop mission. I wish that the screens were not so dark. The game is set in the city of lights, shouldn't it be bright? I would recommend this for mature players as there is quite a bit of language.
