We have a Tom Tom which I paid an enormous price for and then paid another enormous amount to purchase lifetime updates for. Tom Tom company unilaterally decided to no longer honor their agreement to update the old Tom Tom. We were going to buy a Garmin but there were none of the kind we needed in stock when we started our trip so we bought two of these for an 8,000 mile + journey. They performed adequately but required quite a bit of hoop jumping to get the route and the location we preferred. Also there isn't much of a selection of voice options if you live in the USA. We only had a few rough patches as the new mapping system seems rather fond of dirt roads vs highways. LOL That was easily enough corrected by pulling over and telling it to avoid those parts of the route or by putting in stops along the way that we don't really want to stop at to Force Tom Tom to choose an interstate and highway route. The only thing I really really dislike about the model is that it's nearly impossible to just type in the address of a business. Every time we tried we got a message that it could not be found. However if I typed in the name of the business and the town then scrolled through a list I could always find the one that Tom Tom could not find using the exact same address. Overall a decent product but not nearly as good as the one they will no longer provide the purchased updates for.

I don't understand why Best Buy doesn't have these in the store instead of Garmin. A few years ago I bought a Garmin... later when I wanted to update it I learned that would cost almost as much as a new one! Tomtom was an alternative then, and info said it would have lifetime FREE updates! Obviously the better buy, so I got one. It worked well,ABSOLUTELY SATISFACTORY! Unfortunately I lost it, went to Best Buy for a new one, BUT it was no longer available in the store. With persistent questioning I found an employee who told me I could order one!!! Which I did! It was a long time coming, for which I blame FedEx, not BB. It had to come all the way from Washington (state).

Great screen size, easy to setup and use. Has voice directions too for reminders to turn or turns coming up. Easy to update with updates included.

This is my third TomTom GPS and I am quite satisfied with all the improvements over my last unit - a Start 25. I originally wanted the 5" version figuring that would be the right size - but the 6" version was on sale, so I bought that instead. Just like a TV, the screen can never be too big! Other reviews will extol the virtues, so I will point out my peeves. The companion Android app cannot be closed, so it is always running. Despite this state, the device and the app still frequently lose their connection - which means no traffic data. In 2020, we have become accustomed to the screen responsiveness of a smart phone screen - but this unit's "touch" screen responsiveness is nowhere close - and "tapping" the screen like my older units works no better. Maybe I am expecting too much, or maybe I am just doing it completely wrong (btw... never read the instructions). My old unit would prompt me with a Yes/No question if a toll road was part of my directions. This unit still indicates a toll road is included, but only gives you a short time span to change that choice. Given my own issues with the screen responsiveness, I almost always miss that small window to avoid the toll road. Lastly, the ability to update via WiFi is either a great feature or a useless gimmick. You have to be plugged into a power source in order to update - so that would usually be via USB cable connected to my computer. Otherwise, I am in my driveway or garage, with the car idling as I wait for the updates to download and install. Not sure what the use case would be for this being a great feature.

I had an old TomTom that had reached end of life according to TomTom. Since my old one had lifetime map & traffic updates, I didn't want a model that didn't offer the same. This fit the bill. I just wish TomTom offered a way to transfer all the saved addresses and purchased voices from the old device to the new device.

I like this GPS and found it rather easy to create locations for my favorite places that I frequent. I had to update the map to get some new streets near me that were not there yet. I was able to get the update via wifi just like they said you could. It did not come with a storage case so I'll get one soon. I would like this device to display the next intersection while in normal mode but I have not seen a way to do that so it may not have that ability. The streets are labeled on the map so that will do for now. I would recommend this to others.

Sometimes family members need a little help getting places, and the TomTom fits that bill. Bluetooth connection to phone for current traffic conditions and other items, which is great! The only downside I see right now is the app has a notification that is sticky on the phone.

Definitely worth every penny. Quick interface and connects to WiFi without a computer. Reads text messages aloud with a Bluetooth connection. Very accurate for most addresses. Search function is much easier than traditional street name and number.

MY OLD GPS DIED AND I WAS DEVASTATED BECAUSE IT HAD SOUND LOUD ENOUGH FOR ME TO HEAR AND CLEAR SPEAKING. THE NEW TOM TOM I PURCHASED IS EVEN BETTER AND ALSO GIVES ME WARNING WHEN APPROACHING INTERSECTIONS WITH CAMERAS. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE

Nice way to enjoy the drive across North America. Lot's of features you can't do while holding a phone or using Android Auto.

Fairly easy to use and very accurate. Really like the fact that it comes with lifetime updates at no additional cost. Cost of the updates on the Magellan I had previously was too expensive to keep it updated.

This GPS was bought as a gift for my husband who does not like or want a smart phone. We set it up but I have to say it should come with better directions on the use of the GPS. Also the one thing that I do not like is it keeps the last address you put into it in the GPS till you use it again. It will work well for my husband.

Since our children gave us our first TomTom about ten years ago, we have loved this brand of GPS. This is the third TomTom device we have purchased and this has more features than previous ones. Pluses; it can be updated via wifi and without needing to be connected to my computer. I like the app on my phone that allows me to select an address and send it to the TomTom. The only cons is that it has a bit of a learning curve. If I had not had one before, I might not have been able to figure it out on my own.

After using a competitor's GPS for years, I decided to try a Tom Tom. Good choice. It has a nice large screen that's easy to see even with sunglasses on. Would reccomend it.
