Can't believe this watch is so horrible

I bought this watch to use cycling and running. It broke the first day I used it while biking. The bike strap snapped off the handle bars and the watch hit the pavement and the screen cracked. I brought it back to best buy and was told if I didn't buy their waranty that they couldn't do anything about it. Now I've been dealing with TomTom and it's been well over a month and I still don't have the replacement!

This is a great watch which has all the major features I looked for. I love the integration with MapMyFitness. Super easy to use and set up. The price made it worth the jump. About $150 cheaper than similar watches from other companies. My only issues are that the watch has too many quirks for the price. For $250 to $300 I expect it to be flawless. The watch can freeze when uploading bluetooth phone. The data will still be there for a connected upload or charging. There is no reset button so it stays frozen. The device will turn off at times and can't be turned on. When you plug it in, it will turn on again and indicate a full charge. And when frozen you have to setup the date time, etc. Good news is that all workout data is still there. Not a show stopper for me, but annoying. At least resetting it is quick.

When I first began looking for a fitness watch, I looked at Fitbit products, as most of my friends and family have them. I waited, sure that the Charge HR would be what I wanted. After it launched, I wasn’t so sure. I started to look at Garmin, Peak, Jawbone, Adidas, and spent a tiny bit of time looking at Microsoft and Apple. I quickly realized that no product was perfect. Many would be too large on my wrist. I almost went for the Garmin Vivosmart. In the end I decided on the TomTom and am glad I did because - the size is great and very comfortable - simple to operate with a button rather than touch screen - includes a bike mount (better than on my wrist when riding) - the GPS usually picks up my location extremely fast I really didn’t want a device to wear all the time, only during exercise. I really like the variety of views that can show on the screen while I’m exercising. I find the option to race my previous times particularly exhilarating and really like how it is displayed on the screen. The two modes I use most are Run and Cycle. The recently added Freestyle is nice to record walks or any activity you don’t want counting towards your stats in the other modes. I can’t comment on Treadmill or Swim since I have yet to try them. The watch definitely isn’t perfect, and I would like to see the addition of an indoor cycling mode, making use of a speed/cadence sensor instead of GPS. The watch is great outdoors, but isn’t useful for spinning. If TomTom added an indoor cycling mode, this watch would get 5 stars from me. The TomTom MySports website leaves a lot to be desired, but you can easily sync with other popular fitness sites. I am happy with my purchase and feel it will last a few years until the technology of these devices advances more, causing me to want an upgrade.

This is a great watch. I wanted a GPS but also the chest heart rate monitor. The wrist monitors in many watches apparently are not as accurate. It is packed with features for the price.

Previously used Nike+ GPS watch, but since they are no longer being manufactured I had to find an alternative. This watch does everything you would want a GPS watch to do. The HR monitor is a bonus.

I run between 40-80 miles a week with this watch and the hr monitor and I love it. Gives me all the data I would expect with a few bonus metrics (strides per minute and auto upload to strava). Haven't tested the biking or swimming capability yet.

I had looked into many fitness watches trying to determine which one would be the best choice for me. I like to participate in a large range of activities and wanted to achieve a different goal than what most brands focus on. I wanted to be able to track how far I travel. I run, bike, and swim and wanted to be able to improve my endurance. This watch is just what I needed. When I run I am able to determine my distance without guessing or being forced to run the same path. It also has different settings if you wanted to break down your lap pace, or speed. I would HIGHLY recommend this product. The only draw back is when I first turn the GPS on it takes a few minutes to locate me, so all I do is turn it on when I start to get ready and by the time I am ready to go so is the watch.

Although it has a range of uses, I use the watch mainly for running. I went into this purchase completely cold, never used any gps device or any training device when running, just walked outside and started to jog. This little thing has really changed my workouts, they've gotten much more structured. The training features are really cool. You have pre-loaded goals (distance and time), you can load your own goals, or you can race a previous run that you did, and each in each case it gives you real-time feedback on whether you're first or second and by what distance. This has been a great motivator for me. The sync software is also great. Shows you maps of your runs and all kinds of stats on distance, pace, elevation, not just the averages either, down to something minuscule like 5 second intervals. Overall this is a great watch and I really enjoy having it.

1.) The ability to share maps, stats and etc., needs to be much easier. 2.) If there is a way to have "friends" or see other's profiles, I have not figured it out yet. Those 2 points being said I love everything else about this watch. It does everything I need it to and a little more.

I really like the slim fit and form factor of this watch and while the latest firmware update (1.3.1) did fix some bugs it's still lacking features such as run intervals, auto pause, custom workouts and the ability to use zones and goals at the same time (i.e. run x pace for x miles). Also the treadmill and swim mode can be inaccurate even with the latest firmware update.

What I really wanted was a "workout partner" A Watch that: - Monitors heart rate - Provides time duration of current workout - Provides avg heart rate during workout - provides calories burned - upon completion of workout: provides workout synopsis of all of the above information as well as maximum heart rate achieved during workout Unfortunately this watch did not provide all of the above information. I went instead with Suunto M5 which does just that.

    Multi Sport Watch

the watch is very thin and very comfortable to wear. The watch will usually get a GPS signal with in 30 to 45 seconds. The watch is easy to use and start. I do have many Cons for this watch: there are NO open water swim functions, there is NO pause when stopped feature, you can't make the number of items on the screen (currently 3 info boxes) different . What i mean is you can't split the screen by two or even one info box, its always three boxes. I'm 44 years old and my eyes are not great anymore so the upper two info boxes are so small I can not see the numbers when I'm running. There isn't NO pause when you stop function so you have to remember to pause it every time you stop other wise your average run time gets all messed up.The watch band has a strap holder but it is not very tight. The Multi Sport watch version is a little expensive for what the watch has. I am seriously thinking about taking the watch back and getting a refund.

Great watch if you buy it with the right expectations. When I don't use the GPS I can wear it as an everyday watch, but I find the band somewhat uncomfortable for all day use. It is excellent for fitness use. I use both for running and for bicycling. I use it with both computer and iPhone and it works great with both.

I'm a pretty big dude. I powerlift and CrossFit and wanted to incorporate analytics into my workout to achieve better performance. The tech is great and company is awesome, this product, not that awesome. The band on the watch is too bulky and they don't make one for a person with a bigger than average wrist size. The GPS feature works well enough and the multi sport feature makes it somewhat decent. The heart rate monitor is ok. The material they use for the strap is cheap and showed signs of wear after just one use. It was a pain in the butt while working out. It kept rolling down and needed to be adjusted pretty much after every movement. Sync is slow and app needs work.

Got this for my father as a gift. Works great track bike workout. The best part about this watch ( or to be exact Tomtom's mysports account) is that syncing to other accounts like runkeeper or strava is effortless and seamless.
