Nice Running Watch with small problems

I previously had the Nike+ Sportwatch with HR strap for over a year. Although it worked fine, I wanted to get rid of the HR strap and be able to sync through my iPhone. Also, my employer rewards it's employees for healthy habits like working out but no longer supports the Nike+ platform. So I decided to change. I researched many watches and found the this one to do everything I needed. Although TomTom is not supported by my employer, Runkeeper is. TomTom automatically uploads my workouts to Runkeeper. It's seamless! TomTom's site doesn't support split times for runs or offer any charts for comparing your workouts right now so using a 3rd party site is recommended. Hopefully that gets updated. I've had similar issues with the HR dropping due to sweat. I seem to have better results with the sweat issue using the Slim armbands made for the TomTom Runner. Still, dropouts still happen. I've only experienced this once with my Nike+ Sportwatch and HR Strap. I will mention that I ran a half marathon with no dropouts at all in 55 degree weather. The distance and weather were enough to get more than a good sweat going on. The only other issue is with wireless syncing through my iPhone 6. It can be inconsistent. Usually my runs are sync'd within a minute. There are times that it takes several attempts to get it to sync with one instance taking an hour of attempts. Overall, I am happy with the watch. I would like to see improvements to the watches software and the website to fix the HR and wireless syncing issues though.

    Good hardware, poor software

    1. GPS and optical Heart Rate monitor work well, 2. Like the 4-way rocker, button 3. Battery life - good. Bad stuff: 1. When you stop or pause the watch, you cannot see current activity time like on every other sport or stopwatch. 2. Heart rate is not included in burned calories algorithm. Running uphill, downhill, headwind, tailwind... - nothing matters, you will get approx. same calories. No calories for activities other than running, because calories are based on speed. 3. Small metric displays (on the left and right top) difficult/impossible to read while running at night. 4. Do you believe that: seconds are not shown when running time larger than 1 hour?! It was partially fixed, but still doesn't work 100%. 5. Manual laps are marked by the light touchscreen: not reliable. S.

Hello there, thank you for the review. I will share your feedback with the development team as we are still working on improvements for the watch thus your input is vital to that. When you stop your activity you can see basic statistics on it by looking at the history. It will show you the how long the activity took and the distance. Calorie calculation is based on MET tables. The secondary stats were enlarged in the last software update, additionally, if your watch is on Night mode while running, it should make visibility easier. You can learn more on what is planned for improving the watch here: http://bit.ly/1j9Ui4R. Please ensure that you have the latest version of the software (Version 1. 8.19) to get the best from your watch.TomTomInc.

I love the watch. Very accurate regarding the hear rate sensor. I wore my chest strap and ran them together. They are just +/- 2 BPM apart. Good job TomTom.

I've had this watch for a few months now and i'm really enjoying. The user interface is really easy to get the hang of and the features are great. This watch is slightly bigger than I had hoped for, but nothing too extreme. I haven't had any issues with the heart rate monitor as other people have mentioned. Maybe because I don't sweat as profusely as other people.

    Poor Quality

glass broke, feel out of strap onto wooden kitchen table, got watch replace from Malaysia then new watch - control bezel feel out - lost it! - no control over the watch - $270 down the drain! No one will replace or repair! Their is no repair for this product available at this time. This product is constructed of poor quality components and poorly designed. This is suppose to be a multi sports watch and can't survive daily wear! I have photos but the review crashes when I try to insert them. This is my final attempt to make the buyer beware!
