This 1988 film is a classic adapted from the 1977 play of the same name by its author Harvey Fierstein...and it seems not to have lost it's luster over time.

If you really want to know what life was like for gay men in the 70's and '80's, this will help you understand. Besides, it's also humorous.

This movie is exceptionally done and the best gay movie I've ever seen. Anne Bancroft is amazing as well as the rest of the cast. If you're just starting out in life and trying to relate to the gay lifestyle this is the movie to watch. I cry everytime I watch it. Just exceptional whether you're gay or straight.

One of the best movies ever made. Laughter interrupted by tears interrupted by anger interrupted by joy interrupted by admiration interrupted by embarrassment all unfotunately interrupted by the end.
