I returned it to Best Buy after a few days without problems. I will be more careful buying Toshiba products in the future as I really did not like this boombox and the sound was terrible.

This unit is large and good for all around music listening. Speakers are loud. CD player is key for me

Sounded nice but the battery holder fell off and got lost on it and on the remote too before it got lost also, the disco light is stupid, it is not synced to the music, I want to open the dang this up and cut the wires to the disco lights or add a switch for those useless lights, you have to cycle through all the light colors just to turn them off every time you power this thing up, what a joke!!!

It takes a bit of time to get things working good but overall it is very nice. It puts out good sound. The lights in the front can be turned off, thank goodness! Good deal.

Great sound! It comes with preset audio varieties like rock it jazz which changes how the sound is, which is cool. Plenty of bass on rock. I'm glad the lights can be turned off but some may like that feature. It seems well made and I'm hoping to have years of solid use out of this. Excellent quality, especially for the price.

Its a great size just right for the back yard it has good bass not over blaring and the price was great also.

Out of the box, the left speaker doesn't work at all (no visible damage to exterior of box). The CD player repeatedly skips on a CD that plays perfectly on my stereo CD player. There was no QC sticker on the boombox or in the packaging; make your own determination. On a positive note, headphones jack works and useless disco lights work as designed. I had hoped purchasing a new product in this price range would function as designed out of the box, and perhaps last a year or more. Alas, I am mistaken. There are no 'authorized dealers' near my location, and I'm not willing to spend more on this product to ship for service (I have no confidence it would be returned in working order, or even that the warranty would be honored). In the final analysis: Would I purchase another electronic product from Toshiba or any subsidiary / licensee, etc.? No. If you are interested in this or any other Toshiba /Toshiba licensed product, be wary.

I love it, perfect for me, sounds great, good price

Bought this for my daughter as a gift. Worked great for about 5 months and then stopped. Just a "Hello" and then a black screen. No big deal, things break. There's a "1 Year Warranty". Toshiba is a good brand and will make it right... or so I thought. Turns out that this boombox (TY-CWU500) is NOT warrantied by Toshiba and Toshiba customer service wants nothing to do with it. A company called Mizari Audio Corp. uses the Toshiba name and handles warranty. Unfortunately, they ignore all attempts at communication via phone, website and email. For 6 months, I've been trying to get a hold of them and they ignore everything. No return contact. IF you choose to buy this anyway, make sure you get a BestBuy warranty on it. In my experience, you're going to need it!

i bought this for my husband for his birthday when he got it he put his headphones cord into it and it somehow broke inside of it so it was thinking that it had headphones in it so you cant hear it and when you try and put headphones in it it dnt go cause something is in there and when i tried to see if i could bring it back i was only allowed 2 weeks from purchase to return it so i am out

We bought this mostly for CD's and radio. Reception is weak, and the CD player stops in the middle of the disc. I also wonder about the "25 watts" claim; it's not that strong even when it works. Needless to say, this one is going back.
