Reformatted from NTFS to AFS and use TimeMachine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The box says compatible with both PC and MAC, but I wanted it for a backup drive and felt that an apple filesystem would be better than NTFS for this. It was easy to partition it and format it and it is working silently, backing up my stuff. In a couple of years I'll probably need to replace it with something else as external drives don't seem to last forever.

Great External Hard drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's speed is fantastic, this hard drive is really really fast. Just plug it in to a USB 3.0 jack on the computer and the computer reads it imediately. However, it does have software on it, I don't use it. It is ok though, the software that is. The hard drive is fantastic.

Great product easy to use and set up.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great deal for the amount of storage space. User friendly plug and play set up. Custom set up is a snap and has options for cloud service also. We deal with a large amount of video and art that takes up a lot of space this was a great choice. Very recommended!

Great for backing up your files
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had only the one issue with this product, I returned item to store for replacement. I recommend it to anyone who needs to clear space on their computer. The price is great for this much storage & if an emergency occurred you could grab the device and take it with you, so you could retrieve most of your stored information.

Does the job!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 1TB drive was full and I didn't want to buy another one and have to hook up two. I read the reviews about this one and they mostly were pretty good. I have a Toshiba laptop and the Toshiba Dynadock. Probably doesn't make a difference but thought this drive might work well with the same brand. I did not use the backup software. I just used my computer backup feature to set up the backup to this drive. So far so good and no problems.

Great External Hard Drive So Far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd love to give five stars, but to warrant the five stars more time and utilization is needed. I've been using this external hard drive for approximately a month now and it has performed well. I use it to back up several hard drives on individual PCs and a shared drive on a server. It has been great to use because of its ease and mobility. At this point my only questions regarding it is its overall durability and lifespan. Only time will tell if it is a five star rating. I'll try and come back in a year and update this review.

Extra Storage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Working from home doing YouTube videos, I was quickly running low on space. I also have a pc attached to my tv, so I rip my DVDs to my hard drive for ease of access. This hard drive was a very quick and cheap solution to the problem I was having. May consider buying another one in the near future...

Great speed/capacity for price with one caveat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these on sale to move my movie collection to one drive (and have one for backup). The USB 3.0 works wonderfully, and setup was a breeze on my Mac. The only minor downside is that when first opening the drive on the desktop, the initial load time for the window to open is quite long (as the drive spins up, I imagine). It's noticeably longer than any of my internal or external eSATA drives. This may be due to the sheer number of files on the drive, however. It's still a great value, and pretty quiet.

Nice size, easy to hook up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I take a lot of pictures so I needed a large external hard drive. I had several people to tell me that they had bought the Toshiba 3TB and had good luck with it. I got it a good price. Easy to hook up. I would reccomend the Toshiba 3TB to anyone that needs a lot of storage space.

Great hard drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great deal. Found other hard drives with similar specs for almost double the price at other stores. Easy to use. Pretty much just plug it in and go. It says you get the fastest transfer rate with USB 3.0, but I have it connected To a USB 2.0 port and don't notice any issues.

Had no issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no trouble setting the hard drive up and backing up everything on my computer. There were options for backing up and using a network which I did not need and bypassed. It might have taken a few more minutes than necessary since I didn't need those, but they could come in handy down the road so no complaints. I did buy a competitor's brand a few weeks later and it seemed to back up a bit more quickly, however, so speed could possibly be a slight issue, but not positive.

Lots of backup space
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When installed and opened, there are many files that are unclear. When you do a backup, it is difficult to know where files and folders go. They seem to vanish into the drive. If the directions suggested creating your own folders or just dragging your folders and files into the drive, that would be VERY helpful. The saving grace is the huge amount of disk space.

Great add to my system (for backups
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got me a new PC desktop and wanted a 2nd USB3 backup drive. Its very fast backing up my 2 USB3 drives (2TB to this 3TB). Also nice is how it goes to sleep when not being read/writing. I also back up my laptop once a month using the NTI tool that came with the drive.

Fast Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall it's a very good drive. I attached it to my new 2012 iMac and will be using it as a Time Machine back up drive. It transferred over about 450 gigs of data in a little over an hour!!! The USB 3 connection definitely makes a difference!! The only negative is that there is no on/off switch. So every time my computer powers on the drive also comes on & I don't necessarily need to have it using power. I eject and that takes care of it but wish I didn't have to do that every time.
