Bought this TV from Best Buy as a refurbished unit. Unpacking it and inspecting it looks brand new. The nice thing about a refurbished TV is that it has been gone through and thoroughly inspected more so than a new TV that has been sold in bulk. Easy to set up, some fine tuning on the color, etc and it is clear as any TV when watching HD channels. I have comcast hooked directly to the coaxial connection and when tuned to a digital channel, example, 13-1, It is in full HD and is incredible. Even with only a 60hz refresh rate when watching sports, there isnt any blurring or pausing of the action. For 500.00 you cant go wrong, I was going to buy a tv for 4 times this price. Very happy with the purchase and it fits perfectly in my living room. Down the road I might move up to a larger, 55 inch LCD once prices drop, then this TV will go in the bedroom or Office. Great Purchase, no complaints. As far as the sound, I have it hooked up to a Exploid Boom Box and there is plenty of sound and bass when watching movies. A suround system would be even better.

Picture is great. Sound is adequate. Only complaint is when I turn the TV on or when I change channels on the cable box, it takes 3 or 4 seconds of flickering before the picture comes in. This is my first HDTV, so maybe it is a setting or something, but I have tried lots of stuff to no avail.

This is my first HDTV, and first TV bigger than 27", so obviously, I was very happy as soon as I got the TV out of the box. Setup was very easy, and I was up and running in no time. You will need to use your own HDMI cables, the TV only comes with a power cord. After using it for about a month, the only bad things I can really say about it are the speakers. I fixed this problem after 1 day by adding external computer speakers that I had laying around. I would recommend external speakers to anyone, as I had to have the volume turned all the way up sometimes to hear things. Other than that, the TV works great, especially after you configure the video settings. There's no physical damage or anything on the TV to show it's a refurb, as far as anyone else can tell, it's brand new.

This is a great TV if you are looking for something for a master bedroom or a TV for gaming. I bought this TV since others gave it good ratings for gaming. My PS3 looks great on it and I do not notice any game lag when playing MW2. It's got analog audio output for those trying to use PS3 with Turtle Beach P21 for night time gaming. It works great. You just have to remember to disable the sound output on the menu at night. For the price of $519 I can't complain about the 60Hz rate when watching sports on a 40" lcd. I got it hooked up using QAM on Fios and it looks great. I can't wait to try hooking up a PC to it.

This is a nice deal the picture quality wasnt as great as i expected but over all this was a great deal for the size and brand for the price.

The Picture is great. Never had any issues with the device. Haven't had to adjust anything since I first set it up last year. The built in speakers are low even when turn all the way up. But hooked to a surround sound set works great. Also looks good when hooked up to my PC.

I bought this for my parents and both of them are crazy about this TV. We bought a "refurbished" model and I can attest there is no difference between brand new and refurbished, don't hesitate to go the refurbished route if the economy has got you low on cash. Great product finish and overall quality cannot be beat!

Everything is fine except the picture sharpness. It is snowy with streaks of interference from time to time.
