Web site states warranty is same as new unit, but refurbished warranty is only 30 days from an unknown company. Toshiba does not even recognize it as their product via serial and model number. AV cord broken within 7 days of ownership. LIked the SD card slot and that it played my home made DVD movies. Sound was good, picture was good, and battery life was good. Returned it to local Best Buy because AV cord broke, Best Buy would not sell Replacement warranty on unit, Toshiba did not warranty product, and refurbished warranty was only for 30 days not 1 year.

I purchased this product for a trip so my family could watch movies in the hotel room instead of doing the whole ppv thing. Dont listen to the bad reviews or worry that its refurbished because this is a great dvd player. The battery is great, it will run for a good 4 hrs and no low battery warnings come up. With the av-in option I hook this dvd player directly to my cable box and my son can also watch tv on it while i'm on a different input watching a movie or playing a video game which is lovely!!! The speakers a good and loud, can hear everything clearly from a different room, remote is a little on the large side but not a big deal, just happy to have a remote with it. Haven't really used the sd input just yet so nothing to review there. All-in-all I am very very happy with this product!!!

I would not recommend this DVD player to anyone. I purchased this DVD player back in October and it broke right after Christmas time. It is now only the end of February and I am about to return the 4th (yes 4th!) one we have had to exchange it for because it keeps breaking. It has cracked 3 of our DVDs in the last month. When we try to play a DVD, it does not even "snap" correctly into the player. The DVDs we attempt to play are always "freezing" and then the player shuts off completely. You can hear a clicking when the videos play, if we're lucky to get them to play at all. Thankfully we purchased the extended warranty on this product, it has more than paid for itself! I WILL NOT be exchanging the one I need to bring back now for the same one, nor any Toshiba DVD player for that matter. I completely understand that every now and then you can get a "lemon" of a product, but 4 times in a row is unacceptable. Would not recommend this product.

We bought this before our cross-country drive this summer. I had researched EVERYTHING available online. This portable DVD player offered everything I wanted. The swivel screen with controls on it makes it incredibly convenient, especially when strapped to our headrest for our son. Of course, the remote control is as easy as it gets. DVDs load quickly, picture quality is exceptional, and audio is as good or better than previous players we've owned or borrowed. But keep in mind that none of these players are designed to really be used w/o headphones, so with good pair of headphones you've got great sound. Very happy with the price, too.

it was a gift for my mother. I had never bough a refurbished item before, but figured it'd be a good choice to try out. When she first got it, it made a loud clicking noise and sounded like the dvd was rubbing against something. About 30 min later, it shut off and never turned back on. Worst purchase ever. They did accept it for return in the store and money was given back to my account within 3 business days. Won't ever purchased refurbished item again. Not worth the hassle.

I absolutely love this dvd player. I got a refurbished one and it is great! I love that it has a remote, I love that the battery works for a while! I wish it came with a head rest strap, cause it folds into a tablet, but other than that it is the best player I had so far!! My two little boys enjoy it everytime we are in the car... :)))

I haven't had this item very long to give a thorough assessment. I'm happy with it for the size and cost. Disppointed about the power cord. It could be a tad bit longer so you can move the player further out from the wall if you need to. Please don't be in a hurry to receive the item. It took a minute. I like the weight/thickness.

no issues so far. bought a factory refurb'd unit. basically new - used box but everything else is new.

Very disappointed in this product, I will NEVER purchaes a refubrished product again.
