I REALLY LIKE THIS UNIT. I AM VERY HARD TO PLEASE. THE RECORDINGS WORK ON OTHER BRANDS AND MY LAP TOP. NOT EVEN FINALIZED. I HAD ALOT OF -RW AND +RW'S THAT WERE ALREALLY USED. IT REFORMATED THEM NO PROBLEM. FOR WHAT IT CAN DO AND THE PRICE, I WOULD HAVE REGRETTIED NOT GETTING ANOTHER ONE,SO I DID.

When I saw the recorder online at the reconditioned price I thought what a great deal. However, once the unit was delivered I discovered I could not get it to record from my "new" VIZIO 42" TV because there was not a DVD out from the TV. I did not know that when I bought the recorder. I visited the nearest store and was told why I could not get it working properly. Oh well. I am really impressed with the return policy since I bought it online and returned it at the store near my home. Next time I buy a recorder I'll make sure the recorder can record on my VIZIO.

Got this unit home and basically hooked up and burned a movie. I did not set all the times, dates etc. initially but my movie recorded very well and I was quickly able to title my movie after recording and finalized, very easy. I will need to sit down and program everything when I get a chance. So far so good. The unit is a little noisy when running but i have noticed this problem with other recorders also.

I RESET THE CLOCK EVERTIME I WANT TO RECORD SOMETHING I WAS TOLD TO UNPLUG UNIT AND RESET CLOCK I DID BUT THE NEXT MORNING THE CLOCK WAS BLANK BUT IT DOES RECORD O.K

Great unit for the price. Picture quality is excellent. Easy to read setup instructions.

Good picture quality. I thought I could use it to make copies of DVDs that I already own but it wont. Also, recording and burning with this thing was the most difficult thing I have done since my Social Physchology final exam!

Works well, no problems yet. Very easy to operate.

I have enjoyed this DVD recorder very much. I have had no problems with it at all. It does whatever I want it to do right away.

Was a bit apprehensive about getting a refurbished unit, but it seems to be in perfect condition and works great.

I have several generations of this same DVD-R. Luckily it did not break during shipping since some of the packaging foam was crushed. Works great so far...

it will play in other dvd players,you just have to finalize it first

I've wanted a DVD Recorder for a long time now. I purchased this refurbished Toshiba @ a good price. The look of it was as if it was brand new. The setup was easy but I made it difficult b/c I was try'g to find different ways to connect it so that I can get the best pic. I really expected the pic to record in better quality than it does. I gave up on try'g to get the best pic after I spoke w/a Toshiba rep & was told that the quality will not get any better b/c it does not record in HD/Component quality. If it does not, then what would be the purpose of us'g an HD cable or component cables in the connection setup? Especially hav'g the option to select b/t different HD quality options. Overall, I like to get the best pic quality, & this does not do it for me @ all. It hurts my eyes try'g to watch a movie in the quality that this device records in. I will not & would not recommend this product to anyone else. If the quality of the pic is not important to you, then this might be okay for you.

A little complicated to setup both hardware and configuring to record. But, no audio when putting the DVDs in machines other than this one. Stinker, this means the DVDs are only useful as long as I have this particular machine.
