I purchased this because that is what I had and it has been a good computer but began running slow. This computer is good for the work that I do on it. The keyboard is so easy to type on.

The laptop is light and fast. Setup was easy and the look is sleek and professional. I've had Dell laptops in the past and was not satisfied so I decided to try Toshiba. So far so good. My only problem was arranging delivery.

I bought this laptop few days ago and it stopped working on the next day! The laptop was very slow but I thought it`s the anti virus that slows it down. The screen has a bad quality compared to my 7-years old Acer that I bought for $250 and I never had any issues. This laptop is a garbage and it is not worth the money because for the price you pay it should work for years without any issues! I only used it few hours at the day when it arrived home. On the next day I turned it on, it worked for about 10 minutes and then it shut down... and never turned on again. Actually the laptop was on because the keyboard light was on but the screen remained black and unresponsive. I called Toshiba tech support but they were unable to help me. The next day I took it to Best Buy and they also couldn`t turn it on so they said that they`ll send it back to the factory and I asked for a refund. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from Toshiba!

Thank you for the review, Zulu, and sorry to hear that your Satellite L55W-C5256 seems to have locked up with a black screen.
I understand that you already returned the unit but for the benefit of Windows PC users who might need help with a similar issue, holding down the power button for about 5-10 seconds will force a power shutdown if Windows has become frozen in an inoperable state. Then releasing the power button for a second or two and pressing it again will turn it on.
If the problem were chronic then I'd recommend performing a Windows Refresh or Reset to fix any corruption of Windows that may be causing the problem.
Thanks again for the feedback and sorry for the trouble.

I bought the same laptop elsewhere with different specs and returned it only because it had the 128gb, not enough HD space for me. It also had a SSD rather than 8gb. This one has everything else the other had except slightly lower resolution, 8gb rather than SSD and way more HD space, 1 TB. Other than that, it's the exact same laptop for the same price. This one is built well and is sleek to the look at. You have to hit the number lock key to type but it won't take long to remember that. I'm glad to have found the same laptop I loved with the HD space I wanted for the same price!

drop wireless network a lot

I purchased this PC 45 days ago . 1ST, it took 2 weeks for the fan to be loud and noisy, then the wireless network is dropping a lot of times which forced me to reboot but again it is dropping the connection more and more. Frankly, I don't know this is because Windows 10 or this PC is faulty. Otherwise, the laptop is fairly good specially the 180 degree screen rotation. Last, be aware that it doesn't come with ETHERNET LAN PORT so, I had to buy an ethernet network adapter for wired internet connection.

Thank you for the review, markyounan, and sorry to hear about the fan noise and connectivity problem with your Satellite L55W-C5256.
If Windows is displaying a "limited" or "no connectivity" message or indicating "no Internet access" even though you know that your Wi-Fi router is connected to the Internet, there's a fix for that which is normally installed automatically by Windows Update. Microsoft's support article at support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114149 explains details about the symptom, cause, and how to implement the solution.
