Fine computer, but beware of video card issues

Bought this for work and made sure it had all the bells and whistles I would need, and for the most part it does. I do wish it had a CD/DVD drive but not many do these days so I can't fault it for that. Anyway, the biggest issue I've had with it is some kind of video card problem where the image on the screen will flicker and eventually crash the card entirely. It happens at least once a week and sometimes several times a day, and has done so ever since I bought it. Unfortunately, I failed to inform Toshiba prior to the expiration of the warranty so I couldn't get it fixed, but I've learned to live with that quirk. Overall, a fine computer.

This laptop is good quality but even though it is a ssd the load times are kind of slow. Windows 10 can cause headaches with internet connection but the same can be said for windows 10 on my Asia.

Looks great. Awesome screen and powerful. The only issue so far is that the wifi connection drops out periodically. Sometimes it takes a minute for the unit to sort itself out and resolve the problem. Sometime it can be fixed via the "Troubleshooting" option. Sometimes it requires that I go to the network center to disable/enable the wifi adapter. If not for this wifi issue the unit would be a 5-Star.

Changing to Win 10 was different, but this laptop was worth it. I've had Toshiba laptops in the past & really like this one.

    Not for serious use

As a business user, I cannot recommend this product. I chose this computer because the ten key and backlit keyboard were a must for me. I also wanted a touch screen and solid state drive. These features are fine on this machine. Tablet mode is also passable. However, get ready to take a major performance hit for this 4K screen. Scrolling is jumpy, and the video drivers are often overloaded. If you are trying to edit a large document and you need to hop around, you can take a bathroom break while you wait for your file to catch up with your scrolling. Crashes are too frequent. Toshiba OEM keyboard shortcuts for switching the keyboard backlight, monitor resolution, and text zoom, are crucial for making this computer work well, but they often crash. (For instance, the keyboard backlight shortcut will bring down the entire Toshiba package, locking you into your settings, every time, if you toggle the keyboard backlight three times in a row. For instance, keyboard OFF to ON to TIMER = Kaboom!) I had hoped to get two documents side by side, using 4K, but most office programs actually run poorly in 4K. In conclusion, 4K resolution is impractical for anything other than video.

here u go cons -side volume control upside down -not powerfull enough for 4k.judder/glitchy for 4k mainly for youtube reguardless of my 120mb internet. -WiDi highest 2nd screen resolution is 1080, or else all looks unreadable/unproportional. -Unstable 4k signal via WiDi. maybe try hdmi cable. see above -WiDi does not connect via 5ghz, only 2.4ghz so its slower -it does not log off, it must down off or go in sleep mode -left/right clicks not as responsive as wind7. -this is a 2.5ghz processor not 3 -no control of backlit keys. they shut off just after typing. They turn back on once resume -early 4k adopter pros -720hd video recording via webcam -blutooth for soundbar -very fast and crisp 1080p streaming for everything -Hot keys -wind7 style of wind10 improvement but still sucks if only using mouse

    Toshiba is a disappointment

PLEASE CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BRAND!! I bought this as my college laptop and the first month was great. Then I had an internal problem and I sent it off to Toshiba under the 1 year limited warranty. During transit my screen broke and they refused to file a claim for me. 3 weeks later they sent my computer back, screen still broken and internal problems not fixed. Toshiba makes using your warranty and sending your computer out a painful and long process.

I purchased this laptop for my son for school. Looks great but wifi does not work. Researched the problem and found it is common on this type of laptop. Called Tosihiba but they want to change $99 to fix it, I think this is terrible. $99 to fix a problem that is common on their product. Pretty awful service. I am now working overseas and can not return it to best buy. Tosihiba have let me down and lost a future customer. I would not reccomend you buy from Toshiba
